I haven't played any GTA games since San Andreas. But I replaced my broken Xbox 360 recently and found a copy of the game for $8 (at Family Dollar, if anyone's interested), so I jumped on it.

Playing online is the last thing on my mind right now, but the game is still blowing me away; it's amazing how it looks and feels exactly like the GTA games of my memory (and bonus points for also being set in San Andreas), but with more features and better graphics than ever. I could lose hours just dicking around the map.

You probably enjoy it more since you skipped IV. It's a good game GTA: Online ins't too bad either and I'm not a big fan of online in most games. However I feel GTA has lost it's magic it had in the PS2 days. Vice City still remains my personal favourite.

It really is a great game

I didn't play it until last year, and even then I didn't play it like "gta game". I played it on the PC and the entire game (including car driving) in first person and it was In-Credi-Ble

Seriously, I didn't think it was going to be that good in first person, but I wanted to play full keyboard and mouse and was willing to try it and MAN OH MAN was it good. I could actually aim at what I wanted, and after I got used to it, the driving was soooo much better than the normal 3rd person stuff and being in the car allowed me to actually learn my surroundings and have to pay attention to where I was going as I couldn't see too too much around me or behind me

I really should go back and finish off the single player achievements at some point. I'll never play it online ever though. No interest.

Fun game. Playing a lot of it lately.

Would be fun if Rockstar gave more attention to story mode. All these vehicle additions for Online and not a single one for story mode.

Lame.

Couldn't you use some of them in single player or was that the odd weapon?

The weapons are usually added to Single player I think, but the vehicles no. Although they stopped updating the 360/PS3 versions so all the weapons added after they stopped probably aren't there.

I see. It's been a while since I played GTA: Online and I did play on the PS3. Never bothered buying the game again on current gen consoles. I didn't see the point.

I really can't say enough how impressed I am with how well the multi-character system works. I expected it to work, but in the back of my mind I wasn't getting to excited for it. But it is so goddamn seamless! And the pacing that they're introduced leaves you in suspense just long enough before you get full access! And they interact with each other so well! And they all have their unique play styles without being too polarizing in gameplay! And... fuck! I love it so much!

And what really surprises (and also really relieves me in a way) is that we haven't seen other developers try and shamelessly copy the success of this system only to miss the mark completely on how it worked in the first place and over saturate the market with it. I'd really love to see it utilized more often, but I am thankful that it isn't so universally replicated.

For the 360/PS3 version maybe, but I feel like I've seen new vehicles added to single player.

It could be they added some of the more normal cars, but they definitely didn't add the cool stuff like the Rocket Bike that can fly or the Amphibious vehicles.

Ah, for sure. But that would be ridiculously OP.

Would be a good reward for getting the collectibles, though. Better than what you actually get.
