JJ Abrams probably had an end goal in mind that didn't involve trivializing his story and all its characters in the second film. The Last Jedi is so out of place in this trilogy. To me it feels like Snoke was meant to be the final threat. Then when Rian just killed him off for lolz, the plan had to change, and with how divisive The Last Jedi was they probably figured Palpatine was the best way to get asses back in seats.

Rey pretty soundly beat Luke's ass on his island in The Shitty Sequel*ahem* The Last Jedi, but I mean, dude was far, far from his prime by that point and Rey was obviously totally untrained.

Luke at his prime vs. Rey at her prime would be a very interesting battle.

Hits surprisingly well for an animated film. Main character has kind of an Emperor Kuzco thing going for him, although a bit less douchey and not quite as funny, but it's still a cool movie. I give it 10/13. My grading scale is completely arbitrary.

That was also weird. Yet Kylo, despite being able to move around in their connected environment, wasn't aware of where she was until the Vader pedestal broke. Somehow Kylo was able to see that, then, but couldn't see anything else in her environment.

Handwaving is not an explanation. They're legitimately stupid things. Could they pass physical items in TLJ or is that another thing this movie pulled out of its ass/got completely wrong?

Could they even pass through the Force themselves? If Kylo can reach out and yank a necklace through, why not Rey in her entirety? Could Jedi/Sith use that to teleport between worlds? If that's possible, why wouldn't Snoke/Palpatine just teleport Kylo wherever he needed him to be? Imagine how much time he could have saved in TLJ if he had just jumped Kylo to Rey.

Passing things through the Force is weird. Shouldn't be allowed. I don't like it.

This is the last of the Skywalker Saga but I hope we get to see Rey as a master at some point down the line... she's still pretty much a rookie. She's had to do so much shit in so little time. A light side warrior with the power of the Palps is interesting. I was kind of sad she didn't use Force Lightning again in the movie.

TLJ truly was a huge fuck-up. I wish Rian had never been allowed to touch the sequel trilogy. Abrams would have made a much better Last Jedi, and by extension a much better Rise of Skywalker since he wouldn't have had to waste half the movie unfucking the plot.

And yet, aside from Obi-Wan's goofy little spin attack, that's the most sensible lightsaber fighting we've had. The two of them are making every move to avoid being touched by the other. Their swordplay is careful and deliberate. No wild swings, no fancy posing. They actually keep their weapons trained on one another. It could have been better, sure, but it makes sense considering the weapon.

The prequels turned the duels into sensational affairs, flashy but stupid. If you actually watch what's going on, they're constantly exposing themselves for the sake of flourishes, flips, spins and stylized swings. Constantly striking at the weapon rather than the opponent. This is known as Hollywood sword fighting, and it looks cool... but it's not cool.

The sequels make the mistake of implying the lightsabers are somehow as heavy as equivalent steel weapons. It's pure cringe every time Kylo swings his saber like it weighs 50-60 lbs. It's not a damned zweihander. At least the battles aren't as stupid as what's seen in the prequels, but it's still laughable. Even if the sabers were somehow that heavy, it's well known that Jedi use the Force to enhance their lightsaber combat, so it doesn't hold weight. Unlike Kylo apparently.

Anyway, voted Phantom Menace. The Last Jedi was bad, terribly bad, but at least it didn't have Jar Jar.

After Finn reuniates with Poe, all of his scenes could have been cut from TLJ and the movie's conclusion (and the entire sequel) would not need to change. TLJ is half a film. Therefore TRoS needed to be one and a half films to compensate. Rian Johnson really screwed the pooch.

One of the deleted scenes was one of the best in the film ffs, Luke teaching Rey what it truly means to be a jedi. We sacrificed scenes like that for a casino chase? For a forced romance that didn't develop? For some "closure" on Phasma that was poorly executed and unnecessary? Wow.

I just saw this, and came to see if there was a thread about it because I wanted to make one. I do like Majora's Mask, and I've played through it a few times, but that's why I believe I'm in a good position to call bullshit on a good chunk of this video. He did have a few valid arguments, but they're the same arguments people have been making against the game for years and years, so nothing interesting there. The issue comes in with all the just really basic shit he decided to complain about, it's a head-scratcher because you know there's no way any adult familiar with Zelda games could find some of these things that challenging.

The game is not challenging. The issues he struggled with are things a toddler could do. Like the ramp segment with the goron roll, dude... come on. The controller has grooves to help you keep the stick straight, all you have to do is line up with Z and then hold forward, then let go before you bounce off the crate. It's. Easy. Or that shit with the bomb, are you kidding me? You can easily get there with 10+ seconds to spare if you're not an idiot. The whirlpool room? The pipes literally show you where to go, all you have to do is swim near the walls to get into the corridors and obviously you can't swim against the current. This isn't big brain time, these games are designed for children to beat. Then came the icing on the shit cake, his gripe about the heart container. The boss remains were literally in the light that you use to exit the dungeon, by no stretch of the imagination would any logical person have thought they could grab that before the heart container. It just goes against common sense, especially since you've encountered that same scenario in three other dungeons already and you would by default already know that entering the light means leaving the dungeon.

That's when I realized he just decided to shit on a really popular game for views... and that's pretty sad.

I've seen all the films. They all fall somewhere between meh and decent, with the exception of Ep 1 which is the only one I consider truly bad. There are no amazing or even great films in this series. They're popcorn flicks you're not supposed to think about too hard, and yet people are just totally absorbed into it. It baffles me.
