Just ignore the story and roleplay? That's what I do. I won't say it's not harder to do in 4 though. Bethesda is killing the RPG elements of the series.

What are your options? Looks just like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. I wouldn't recommend either one, though Fallout 4 is bearable at least.

Interesting video. Those arent very obvious observations, at least for me, and I feel like hes spot on about the genre in general. Not something I thought about from that perspective.

I do have to say though....he almost lost me right at the start talking about Outer Worlds "incredible setting impressive writing". Definitely lacking in those areas. I get people want a Bethesda slapper, but we need higher standards than that black and white dreck in space.

You were in Fallout New Vegas too.
And in 3 you were a guy who got kicked out of a vault.

But there was enough ambiguity to make your own background, not to mention the story wasn't focused on your character so much as your character was a major force in the events, rather than being the reason the events existed.

Yeah, you notice that the enemies are specifically leveled to fuck you up if you go anywhere but where you're supposed to at first? Leave it to Bethesda to fuck up a game about exploring.

this is a good thing

level scaling enemies are BS and it means skill matters

You CAN do whatever you like but it requires talent. If you suck balls at the game you need to have your hand held

I mean look at FFVIII. Enemies scale with you so there is no incentive to explore or level up

look at oblivion, enemies are piss easy unless you choose to level up and make them harder

FO4 does it right

Some scaling where needed but mostly danger zones they warn you about

nah man silent protagonists suck and take me out of the experience even more because its so awkward. they just didnt do it well at all

To be fair though, Bethesda missed an opportunity to have a Vault that segregated people such that an Irish accent might be expected to survive in pockets of the Commonwealth.

To be fair though, Bethesda missed an opportunity to have a Vault that segregated people such that an Irish accent might be expected to survive in pockets of the Commonwealth.

I think in that case it was more that they just wanted badass Zoe Bell to voice a couple characters, instead of a deliberate attempt to have characters with a New Zealand accent.

Both Fallout 3 and 4 have numerous characters with thick Irish, Eastern European, and Asian accents.

I read 76 as New Vegas. That is how little I think of 76. My mind read it as a much better game.
