The final film outside my top 10 dropped, though, again, I'm not sure why I have Civil War so low? Lower than the original Captain America even...

23 - Thor: The Dark World
22 - Iron Man 2
21 - The Incredible Hulk
20 - Thor
19 - Avengers: Age of Ultron
18 - Captain Marvel
17 - Iron Man 3
16 - Ant-Man
15 - Captain America - Civil War
14 - Spider-Man: Far From Home
13 - Captain America: The First Avenger
12 - Ant-Man and the Wasp
11 - Doctor Strange
10 - ???
9 - ???
8 - Spider-Man: Homecoming
7 - ???
6 - ???
5 - Iron Man
4 - ???
3 - ???
2 - ???
1 - Black Panther

I am in the chorus of people asking why GOTG2 is still in despite having it in my own top 10...my numbers 6-11 are basically in a giant tie.

Aw, Black Panther would have been my #1 and the only MCU film I consider truly exceptional (though that falls almost entirely on its set and costume design)

With GOTG2 still being in, I have to guess the original is #1. It's always seemed the widest appealing to me, and its distance from the others really helps it operate as a standalone film. It's also one of the few that I think does the weird Marvel brand of humor consistently well. In addition to being a Marvel film, I think it's the best light space opera film since Star Wars.

Everything else, I see some negatives (though I'll never understand the weird backlash against Black Panther) to hold them back. I personally find most of the team films underwhelming and have to imagine at least a few who actually submitted feel the same?

I wonder where I would fit on the outlier chart if I submitted (and am also curious what I missed about my #15)
23 - Thor: The Dark World
22 - Iron Man 2
21 - The Incredible Hulk
20 - Thor
19 - Avengers: Age of Ultron
18 - Captain Marvel
17 - Iron Man 3
16 - Ant-Man
15 - ???
14 - Spider-Man: Far From Home
13 - Captain America: The First Avenger
12 - Ant-Man and the Wasp
11 - Doctor Strange
10 - ???
9 - ???
8 - Spider-Man: Homecoming
7 - ???
6 - ???
5 - Iron Man

Good to see only one of my top 10 fall outside the board top 10, bizarre that it's the original Iron Man of all things

Finally at my computer and taking a quick look through my favorite artists; gonna mention anyone from my top 50 who started strong. Ended up with 18 of those 50, with two actually starting off with my favorite of their entire career

LCD Soundsystem - "Daft Punk is Playing at My House" (though feels weird treating this as a strong start when their first single came out three years before the album and is even better)

R.E.M. - "Radio Free Europe" - though counting this as their debut makes me sad since Chronic Town is one of the essential EPs (but does not start with a particularly noteworthy track...though "Radio Free Europe" also predates that EP...).

Bjork's Debut - "Human Behavior"
The Velvet Underground and Nico - "Sunday Morning"
Kanye West - "We Don't Care"
The Smiths - "Reel Around the Fountain," which is good but not quite to the level of these others
Similar to above, The Cure - "10:15 Saturday Night"
Leonard Cohen - "Suzanne," which barely nudges out "You Want It Darker" as my favorite Cohen song
Brian Eno - "Needles in the Camel's Eye," which is my favorite song by him
Led Zeppelin - "Good Times, Bad Times"

I always forget that Stevie Wonder started making music when he was 12, and even at that young age, "Fingertips" remains a great song

Joy Division - "Disorder"
Arcade Fire - "Neighborhood #1"

Pixies have both "Caribou" and "Bone Machine" if you want to start with Come on Pilgrim or Surfer Rosa

Pink Floyd - "Astronomy Domine," though I feel this earliest album gets forgotten due to their big stylistic shift, it's still one of their best

St. Vincent - "Now, Now," though this feels like another minor case
U2 - "I Will Follow"
Vampire Weekend - "Mansard Roof"

LCD Soundsystem's debut kicks off with "Daft Punk is Playing at My House" which remains one of their most iconic songs.

It's funny to think that Bruce Springsteen started things off with "Blinded by the Light," which I think most people don't realize was a Springsteen song due to being overshadowed by the cover. This is actually probably the opposite of the point but I was just thinking through my favorites and found this one funny. Bob Dylan also started with a cover album, I believe, so nothing there either.

If we skip the opening skit, "We Don't Care" is probably Kanye's best track not released as a single? If not, it's at least up there.

Also, it's weird that I've invested so much time in this series when only two have ever ranked in my top 1000 films. I guess I feel like the MCU is something greater than the sum of its parts.

I'm sad I somehow overlooked the voting on this; here's how my own list is ranking in comparison:
23 - Thor: The Dark World
22 - Iron Man 2
21 - The Incredible Hulk
20 - Thor
19 - Avengers: Age of Ultron
18 - Captain Marvel
17 - Iron Man 3
16 - Ant-Man
15 - ???
14 - ???
13 - Captain America: The First Avenger
12 - Ant-Man and the Wasp

I'm not sure why I'm so low on one of the two yet to rank (I feel like I just wasn't in the mood for it when I watched) considering what I have higher, though I also don't get why others care for the other one

James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem would be my top choice, probably followed by Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Kendrick Lamar and Sufjan Stevens would probably be next?

I'm generally not much of a lyrics person but those five are commanding enough to always draw my attention to their words. All but Kendrick would also be in my top 10 artists overall (Kendrick will probably get there the moment he releases another album - beating out Bjork, The Velvet Underground, and Kraftwerk requires a bit of work)

I ended this game with 2000+ unspendable experience; I'm trying to think of the last game where i maxed everything out without trying.

I also loved the concept of Majima Everywhere; too bad it was also bogged down by the low threat/high HP design.

As long as Kiwami 1 is an outlier, I'm probably good to go. Everything besides the bosses and some of the later fights have been fine. The sidestories are a step down from 0, but I figure that's more the original game's writing than anything else.

I played Yakuza 0 in December and loved it. I want to play Like a Dragon but figured I should play the others first, especially with them being on GamePass. But I just finished Kiwami and I really wasn't feeling it; it just felt so tedious after a certain point. Enemies were HP sponges that never posed a threat, and so many attacks just knock Kiryu to the ground. I never died, yet battles felt endless.

I like the narrative and the style and the combat itself, but I'm not sure how much I want to tackle the next 5; are these problems exclusive to Kiwami?

I haven't felt this devastated since losing Bowie; she was pushing boundaries in music like few others, in her own work and as a producer for artists like Charli XCX, Vince Staples, and Let's Eat Grandma. I don't know if she had much of a following here, but her album Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides was my favorite from 2018. I'm having such a difficult time processing this.

The entire MCU is essentially a reinforcement of the military industrial complex, and that's the biggest franchise right now. Even when liberals are typically in charge of Hollywood, they are still making movies for a largely conservative American audience.

Like, which blockbusters display liberal ideologies? Most land firmly in a politically neutral territory, which itself feels like a concession to conservative values. When a company like Disney can act like they're breaking boundaries by having a minor character allude to her wife, it's clear mainstream American culture has been largely trapped in trying to appease a conservative base. They only take that minor risk because they think it's now safe to do so without scaring away their audience.
