My second ever Yakuza game after Y0, woot woot!!

I'm just starving for some good ole turn based RPG after finishing FF7R.

So yeah we're seeing a stage play and I've a feeling this is an all-male production and it turns out it is.

Masumi played the lead heroine and his mom is a jerk bitch ass motherfucker banshee, pardon my French. His dad is a good guy and takes him out for dinner.

But then the waiter did a magic trick and the duck is a Glock and he shot the dad dead with it. Wow, talk about shitty service.

Turns out Masumi is now Masumi Arakawa, a patriarch of the Arakawa clan and a subsidiary of the Tojo clan. And he sent out one of his goons to do some collection. Here we gooo.

Oh and I'm using English voices cause why not.

We have a job system? Nice. The battle has some minor real time element with the follow up attack but eh I can live with that.

So this is our dude? Or at least one of them. Ichiban Kasuga. He's more upset that Ushio's knuckle wrecked his not yee yee ass haircut.

it's a 40 hour game, maybe don't post after every cutscene

The English dub is fantastic, they even went to the trouble of changing the mouth movements to match.

I played it on NG+ in English after playing it in Japanese first and I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Playing all the Yakuza games subbed, I didn't think I'd like the dub much, but man it was solid. I changed it back to subs for a lil while later in the game however.

Yeah, the mouth flaps is very impressive. I thought the wrote the lines to fit the animation, but turns out they're doing it the other way.

Alright I'm continuing the game now.

Not gonna read past the opening post but I'm dying to play this - I played Yakuza 0 over Christmas and will probably finish Kiwami 1 tomorrow. I hope I can endure 5 more lengthy brawlers because Like a Dragon feels like it was made for me.

Wow he just pulled out a suspicious looking vial filled with green goo. Supposedly, it can make him stand again. 10 bucks says he just turns into the Green Goblin.

You might not read this, but Y7 is supposedly detached enough to be played before playing the other games.

I do plan on going back to try the other games... eventually.

Yesss I finally got that adorable golden retriever plush and it only cost me 2000 Yen! Now I can't eat or pay rent but I have Goldie with me and he warms my heart so it's all good until we starve.

...we went back to the family's office to report. Ichi filled the wallet with the money Yaster gave him but this nobody NPC just slugged him in the face. Dude, the hell? Who the heck are you?!

He almost cut off our finger, yubi yubi. But we're saved by the boss. I stan him. And apparently the earlier NPC had a name, Jo or whatever. He's not good enough to get more than two letters in his name.
