I didn't think you could permanently miss the storyteller. Did you go to the library after the siege?

Oh. That sucks. I don't have any haste buffs myself yet. Oh well.

Will the game let me know when the final assault is ready? There's still some quests with the red hourglass I need to complete.

You miss the entire Trickster mythic path, one or two things in Act 2, and a much easier time making one of the choices in the secret ending.

The siege happens ~3 days after you get started, so if you have a save from before you can beeline there, save him, then talk to Irabeth to trigger your assault early and skip the siege entirely.

There are a few things you can skip (Irabeth's house, Pitaxian Cellar, one other that's escaping me right now), but a couple you absolutely should not (Count Arendae, finding the three Desnans, Horgus, Woljif).

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I doubt you'll go for the secret ending for the first run. Trickster mythic path is mechanically one of the better mythic paths, not as strong as merged angel, this one can solo the entire game even on hard, or lich but the story is rather weak.

Yea you're not gonna get the secret ending the first playthrough, and probably not at all without following a guide. Also Trickster would be a bad pick for a first playthrough anyway IMO. It's like choosing Malkavian for a first playthrough through VTM:B.

I got the secret ending for Kingmaker entirely by accident but I'd be astounded if someone pulled that off for this one.

It's honestly not that big, just remember for next time that you need to beeline through Kenabres in order to unlock Trickster.

As I already said:

There are so many paths out there, you can't do them all anyways.

You are currently a lawful good, dragonblooded Aasimar Sorcerer, right?

Trickster is basically the definition of chaotic neutral Harlekin for the lulz.

If you locked yourself out of Trickster or Lich, don't worry, you probably would not have picked them anyways.

In my first playthrough I missed a lot too, simply because I sticked so much in character that I even said "fuck you" to such an inhonorable thief like Wolfjif.

Yeah, tho I have picked some Chaotic choices. I intended to be Neutral but I haven't chosen many Neutral dialogue options. To be clear, the neutral options are the ones that aren't marked as anything, right? (Good, Lawful, Evil, etc.)

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have picked Trickster anyway so I suppose it's no big loss.

Speaking of Woljif, I did his quest and am unsure what happened. So he was the traitor after all and I condemned an innocent thief (oxymoron?) to being tortured and killed? >_>

I've finished all the red hourglass quests except for storming the Gray Garrison which ends Act 1 if I'm understanding right. Are there any quests I should do before I do that or can the rest wait? I did all the Errands and two of the companion quests so far.

There are technically no "neutral" options, as in moving your alignment towards neutral.

If fully lawful is 100, and fully chaotic is 0, then neutral would be 50. So, 0-33 is chaotic, 34-66 is neutral, 67-100 is lawful, and each lawful/chaotic options changes your score.

If you don't select any lawful/chaotic option, you will always stay as lawful as you are right now.

So, being neutral is more about mixing chaotic and lawful equally, at least in terms of gameplay mechanics.

Same with good/evil.

Don't overvalue these alignment descriptors of the dialogoptions. Executing traitors may be lawful, but it may conflict with your concept of good, so just select what feels right for your character.

Speaking of Woljif, I did his quest and am unsure what happened. So he was the traitor after all and I condemned an innocent thief (oxymoron?) to being tortured and killed? >_>

Not exactly.

There was someone who betrayed them, in form of calling the guards on them, getting them caught in the first place.

Woljif just get away with the loot.

EDIT: inb4 I remembered it completly wrong. It's already been quite some time.

I've finished all the red hourglass quests except for storming the Gray Garrison which ends Act 1 if I'm understanding right. Are there any quests I should do before I do that or can the rest wait? I did all the Errands and two of the companion quests so far.

No.

Overlord is seen as overrated by many, but it's obviously referencing D&D systems a lot, and when it does, it does it right.
I went and checked my buff list for my 18th level Pathfinder character. Here it is. Bear in mind, these are only the long duration or infinitely re-applicable ones, before getting into ones he might apply or be given that last only rounds or minutes per level... So in any given battle, the number of buff spells would be even more than this.

Buffs assumed: Contingency (Heal if damage taken exceeds current hp), Terrain Bond, Greater Magic Weapon x2, Gyre Denier, Magic Vestment, Mass Resist Energy (Fire) (E), Resist Energy (Cold and Lightning), Barkskin (E), Listening Lorecall (E), Tremorsense, Embrace the Wild, Healing Lorecall (E), Prestidigitation

The (E) denotes Extend Spell has been applied (2x the duration).
"Gyre Denier" was a custom spell we developed to specifically hard-counter the spell Reciprocal Gyre, which does 1d12 damage per spell level of every spell currently affecting you. IE, guaranteed death if someone ever used it on us. :)
Buffs were so important and handed out like candy that an obscure spell like that legitimately scared us enough to research a counter for it, lol

After 36 hours of playing, I think I finally got the hang of this. Buff this, buff that, buff all the things before entering a battle! I feel like I need more buffs tho. I don't think I have enough.

I've switched to real time combat which makes the fights go by quicker.

I think I'm done cleaning up the map. Visited all locations and claimed all the treasures. Now it's time to storm the garrison.

I've been using since the siege.

I did it the first time turn based and it took an hour and a half. Second attempt was real time and it was over in like 15 minutes. >_>

Anyway, with storming the Gray Garrison, I'm really feeling the lack of knights. I saw YT vid of someone going through it and the Knights give haste and cast fireballs. That would have been useful. Oh well.

I just find it funny that I'm taking a nap while the Iribeth and the soldiers are still fighting the demons. probably thinking, "what's taking them so long?"

Every time Camellia screams "The world in crimson!" I chuckle and also get a little scared.

Yeah, I'm still in the Gray Garrison. Haven't had as much time to play and the dungeon is so big and I'm afraid of missing anything so I always give the rooms a twice over and also get stuck in places like where I am right now, where is the goddamn key to this door I looked everywhere!

Yes but only if you pick the flirty options, have her stay in your camp under disguise and stay in a non-evil and non-chaotic mythic path. But her romance happens mostly at the end of the game and she can also become a companion. Also you need to be free, as in not be in an active romance, by the last act so be careful here if you want to romance her.

What about Wolfjif? I can fix him.

The music in the camp is really good.

And that was some story the storyteller told. The equivalent of the meteor that killed dinosaurs in our world basically hit Golarion and caused 1000 years of darkness. Of course it being fantasy, there is no mass extinction that logically should follow lol.
