Also I was told she should have a horse by now, but she doesn't. How do I get her horse?

Lol, ye. There usually is a way to get any particular outcome regardless of good/evil (beyond obvious issues in either direction), they just go about them in different ways.

Auto-leveling is generally fine for making useful characters, but yeah if you want to actually have the fun stuff it tends to move them away from anything beyond "makes character usable."

Woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep? You know what that means! Pathfindin' time.

Came across a guy who was from the Hellknights, begging for help. Most of my companions were like "ehhhh, sounds like a trap, we don't wanna delay our march on Drezen or the enemy will have more time to prepare. Plus Hellknights are bad, mkay?"

So I deferred to them and tossed him out on his ass. Was that the right call?

Came across Kaylessa too and allowed her into my camp. I have a soft spot for dark elves, but I admit they aren't always trustworthy so I hope this doesn't blow up in my face.

Remember when I said that you will miss a lot of stuff in your first playthrough, and you should not worry about it?

Well, I now tell you that reloading this decision is for the better. At least take a look to the Hellknights and talk to them, before you decide.

You miss out on a companion if you ignore the hell knights.

EDIT End of Chapter 2. Or at the start of Chapter 3 if you can't recruit her in 2. If you want to romance her there is a very specific way to do so.

Not at the end, you met her near the beginning of chapter 3 when she sends you a message via dreams and you can recruit her if you go to the area she asks you to go. You can recruit her in chapter 2 after the lost chapel if you do certain things in the lost chapel after repelling the gargoyle attack. You can recruit her in Drezen in the secret prison passage if you did the things I've mentioned in the lost chapel and I think you needed to unlock the azata path back in chapter 1.

Rescued the Hellknights annnnd I'm not sure that was a good idea. They're pretty hardcore. >_> If I stayed in character, I would have told them to kick rocks, but alas sometimes gameplay wins out over narrative.

Their hell Knights make decent units for the early crusade game. Plus Regill is cool and he gives you access to marksmen which makes crusader mode easy mode except for one fight.

Yup. That's why I mentioned a certain feat exclusive to their race if you ever want to make her into a melee fighter. I'm amazed you managed to just learn that given most people keep her in her original form and is the most common art to use.

Usually it's the other way. You start some decent round in Pathfinder, and suddenly, boom, 2 AM, goodbye sleep schedule.

I don't think I've ever sent Irabeth.

Sosiel and Regill are my favorites.

Sos just stands there and heals everyone faster than the horrorwaspmosquitos can eat them.

It's horrifying for everyone involved.

The latest DLC has some good items to deal with swarms. There's a pin that let's you do full damage to swarms. Playing a kineticist is also optimal but the most optimal strategy is using that one broken as fuck ring that converts all damage to force as a free action.

I also wanted to add that this is true for quite some things.

Pathfinder veterans playing on Core probably have a different view on many things in act 1.

The very first vendor sells a cold iron weapon? I NEED IT.

Ghouls around? Better prepare cure paralysis e every day, just to be sure.

A enemy shade drops on you? There is no better time to use all these ability and spells.

A house infested with rats, with multiple swarms attackint you? I don't care how many allies it hits, I said I cast burning hands!

The best part of Pen and Paper mastering is seeing Veterans thinking deeply and muttering "fuck", when the newcomers on their first adventure are wondering what the problem could be.

Did golden boy's birthday party. It was fun screwing around with him. But I can't help but be concerned about that ticking time bomb in his head. Hope a follow-up quest happens because that was quite a thread to leave dangling.

I'm getting the hang of the Crusader mode. I thought I would eventually turn it off but I'm actively enjoying it. It's like a minigame, a tactics RPG inside a regular RPG lol

You'll get to resolve that at the very last act. Crusader mode becomes a cakewalk with mage general and a stack of marksmen, or axe throwers if you have the latest DLC.

Yeah the mage general is OP. I've got him, archers and Hellknights and they just steamroll the field.

Welp, I'm in the shit now. Damn gargoyles. I'm curious what happens if you don't go to the lost chapel right away but this isn't the playthrough to find out.

Loving this mission. So tense. Who survives and who doesn't? Luckily it seems all my companions did except my idiot son who still isn't accounted for. If he really did run away, he will be in so much trouble!

Ye, this (as well as some other bits) have a real "this is the good version of what Mass Effect did" as you are both uncertain as to whether or not you did good enough while at the same time making it actually feel like your prep choices matter/are reasonably well explained.

You'll get Woljif back in the following act along with the start of his companion quest.

Man, that may have been the best quest so far. I actually feel physically exhausted and that these little pixel people actually EARNED a good night's rest.

Yeah, this had shades of when your crew gets captured in ME2. Felt the same sense of urgency too. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem you can save everyone no matter how fast you are this time. At least I was able to save the important people. Sucks for the cleric dude tho. I get a new one, right? I kinda need one right now. >_>

The guy who worshipped Gargamel?

His sidekick takes over his duties as merchant.

If you haven't bought the ring that grants spontaneous fire spells, get it. It's great for Ember or Daeran.

I thought you meant you got Daeran or Sosiel killed for a minute there.

I've been taking the Angel options so far with a few Aeon choices.

Any tips for the liberation of Drezen? I'm about to start it....well, when I get home anyway.

You can skip a good portion of the siege if you manage to collect three keys. They're at the chapel, tavern and prison. If you collect them you can skip the gate opening sequences of the siege.

Not sure how it is in lower difficulties, but I had some situations were a single diceroll can be your doom.

If you know about them you can avoid most of them and prepare for the others in advance, but for a first playthrough expect to get hit by some nasty things.

Also, bless = best spell.

I'm on Normal so it shouldn't be too bad. But then, I have barely scraped by in some past fights. My worry is that I blow through all my spells that I won't have any by the time I get to the boss. I assume there is a boss. Or multiple bosses. This game is scary sometimes.

And yeah, I've been using Bless a lot.

I haven't bought the DLC yet. Would you recommend a first time player to get it while playing their first time or wait until they finish?

The latest DLC is pretty good, the last sarkorians. I haven't passed it yet because I ended up shelving wotr but from what I've played it is solid even for a first time player. You get a new cool shifter class, new items that are pretty good, new crusader mode units, new companion quest and most importantly a new companion who is pretty cool and can shape-shift into a griffin which gives him the ability to make charge attacks from anywhere.

The first pass dlc are okayish, I didn't get the very first one and the 2nd one is ok. Midnight Isles is good to test builds and as part of the main story it has good loot and lots of xp.

Close to the Heavens and Spell Penetration (Mythic) so far.

I'd advise grabbing the Ascendant Element one next chance you get.

Presumably Fire, if you're Gold Dragon bloodline.

Remember that second bloodline mythic ability for later, though, Fire Element bloodline will make you a happy person.

Thank god for the resting spots. I don't think I'd make it through without them. And the idea of taking a nap during a siege is still funny.

I made it to the Balor Drazzledazzle fight before calling it a night. How much longer til I'm done? Drezen is big! And I still need to find the Sword of Valor.
