Most characters can survive, yes. While I don't really remember who you are talking about specifically a good rule of thumb is that if someone dies there was some option/action somewhere that could have prevented their death. That isn't 100%, mind you, but it is a common thing in wotr.

I honestly don't remember who he was. Some random paladin guy just ran into the group of cultists out of nowhere, slashed one, big fight ensued, I completely forget about him already until Woljif says "shame that paladin dude died."

She can, but then will most likely betray you later. I always choose to kill her. She's an unrepentant monster and doesn't deserve redemption.

You can get Lann if you sided with Wenduag in the beginning, I'm not sure about the opposite

Basically the idea is if he had a name -> he probably could have survived. And if Woljif made a comment about how he could be useful he *definitely* could have survived.

Yes you can have both. You, however, cannot get both at the beginning and instead get the other at a latter juncture (when you killed her is when you could have potentially gotten her). That said getting both is insanely finnicky and requires an insanely precise set of choices made in effectively every dialog involving either character + every mongrel character. It is arguably the hardest thing to accomplish in the game and all but requires a guide. Heck, assuming you got her to join you when you saw her you would still have to (very minor Lann -> Wenduag recruitment spoilers) contend with her betraying you if you don't pick some specific evil dialog options, and even when you do that she still leaves and comes back in Act V.

Just another thing he and Wenduang have in common.

Except for Wenduang it's an unpolite "Me strongest!". And it's less about the ring.

Lann romance is pretty weirdly paced and it starts in the most awkward way possible, it's entirely possible to be unaware you've entered his romance. It's a meme on how creepy it can be but I think outside of his romance Lann is a cool guy.

I think sparring with Lann is part of his romance.

Well I just killed a crazy old lady in a cave. I'm such a hero.

You know what's annoying? After a long trek, making it back to Drezen, you're bombarded with 3 meetings and a cutscene. I just wanna rest and save, man.

You can build a teleporter in Drezen and other forts once they're upgraded. Makes traveling a bit easier especially since the game doesn't allow you to pre-buff during random encounters.

I wanna use the succubus but I already built up Lann. He and Seelah are like the only companions that I've never taken off the team lol

Seelah is top tier gameplay wise because she can get a pet, which are OP, and Mark of Justice is a really good paladin ability. Sosiel is up there with her due to being a domain bot with guarded heath.

Personally I always take Nenio, Seelah and Lann, mostly because I don't like Wenduag and playing evil paths but I did take her when I played Demon.

My team is usually Seelah, Lann, Arushalae, Nenio, and then whatever I need for support. Usually Daeran or Ember.

I like to keep a balanced team of 3 ranged companions and 3 melee ones. I could replace one of the melees with Arunsalae, but I'm afraid two melees aren't enough to distract the enemies from us squishies.

One or two tank should be enough for most enemies especially if you use seelah with her horse.

Honestly, a beefed up Lann and Arushalae can drop most people in a single round, especially if you move Lann into fighter after level 7 and take rapid shot.

It's part of a quest. They're all over the place and you can only collect them all until after you do the ritual.

Look, the correct moment of "don't trust Camellia" is literally 3 seconds after she joins, when you notice that her alignment is undetectable.

The 2nd best moment for this is after the first combat with her, hearing her voicelines.

If it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck, it's a duck.

I knew from the second Cam opened her mouth that she was helpful.

Yeah, "leave the last one for me" is just your average battlelust. Other quotes, not so much...

Should happen soon after that. But since you are female, you wont be able to romance her (without toybox).

Assuming you want to romance her. If you do, just don't do the same mistake as with the lich wand.

I don't wanna romance her because she might the type of lady that wants a child's heart as a V-Day gift. If/when I do a male character run, I'm going for the succubus. >_>

Fire Elemental.

Then dig into your Abilities toolbar and find Elemental Strikes - Fire and turn it on. It looks like fire.

So 'Wrath of the Righteous' has its own version of Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate (3)? I enjoy the ones with secrets. Can't wait.

Uh, she's more like the dark urge, at least from what I've read so far, and less shadowheart.

This is especially true when you learn at the end of her companion quest that she made up the whole thing about the spirits and used it as an excuse to get away with murder. She basically has voices in her head telling her to kill.

The weird part is the name, but "gameplay" wise I think it's fine.

In the end she is some girl with a rapier, throwing curses/hexes around. Just doesn't feel like a Shaman at all.

Alternative could have been some Inquisitor, but that would feel strange for the same reasons.

That is basically all you need as far as the whole character creation is concerned. If it was Pathfinder proper you could get away with just a pure Paladin, but what you gestalt in wotr to get lightning dank is up to you. The bigger issue is other stuffs. Like, I would argue that Azata would be the best (unless you want to go into "alt Dark Souls" lore) in terms of gameplay as it turns your character into a bit of a superhero, but from a story standpoint it is not quite accurate to Solaire.

Also, make sure to level Athletics as there is a Solaire easter egg where you recruit Regill that requires the stat.

I hate the Ivory Sanctum.

Near the end of the Sanctum, out of spells, death's door on almost everyone and I'm suffering stage 1 abyss corruption. This is one tough cookie.
