Thank god for the resting spots. I don't think I'd make it through without them. And the idea of taking a nap during a siege is still funny.

I made it to the Balor Drazzledazzle fight before calling it a night. How much longer til I'm done? Drezen is big! And I still need to find the Sword of Valor.

You have one more dungeon after that fight. Do note that once you reach Mythic Rank 3, which is soon, you'll be forced to pick a mythic path and you'll be locked in that path for the rest of the game.

You can actually get her to turn on the demons but that requires unlocking the trickster path and doing a few things before reaching drezen.

Angel is a good path for a first time playthrough. Especially as a cleric. The spells you get a bonkers powerful.

Angel oracle is an extremely powerful built. You can literally solo the game on hard with that path, it's ridiculously powerful.

There's more to it than that. But yes, you pretty much have to do everything if you don't want to fall into traps like that with wotr (as well as the first game).

And Angel is fine regardless of the "goody two-shoes" impression. There is more to it than that, but regardless there isn't closer one to "good" that you have access to (assuming that is still the route you are taking). Aeon is hard "Lawful" and is arguably the "lawful stupid" of the game (Angel isn't even close to being the "paladin stereotype" by comparison) and Azata is more about Chaotic than you have made yourself out to be.

Besides that Angel is just generally super strong if you don't know exactly what you plan on doing as it brings a boatload of super powerful nonsense to the table. Definitely one of the stronger options in terms of bringing raw power to the table without completely retooling how you use your character (such as its evil counterpart: Demon).

Angel is a pretty solid choice for the first time, it's powerful and has the most content out of all the mythic paths. Azata is also solid if only because you get a certain companion out of it.

Yes, the companion is a part of (the best part of) being Azata.

It's like how Lich gets a skeleton dude as a sidekick but the skeleton dude doesn't say much.

There's so many different ways to play this game and that's awesome, but it does suck a little knowing you're never gonna see everything. Who knows when I'll ever get to do another playthrough after this one. :\ Games like Mass Effect seem short compared to this.

Lol, that's these games in a nutshell. Both of them are absurd with just how easy it is to miss major things without realizing that they even exist. For instance, without spoiling anything, you're already locked out of both the secret romance and (unless I missed something) the secret ending. And probably even the secret mythic path.

"Raw power" isn't the way to view Angel. "Always useful" is more accurate. For raw power Trickster or Azata easily overtake it on the good end, and most of the evil ones are also stronger. It's just that no matter what build you are running Angel is good while for stuff like Trickster you *really* have to know exactly all of the various tiers of nonsense you want from the get-go, and some of the times you really don't get as much out of it. Azata could technically be also always viewable as "good" but there is a pretty huge difference between the general party support that forces Angel to always be super relevant versus Azata turning your MC into superman being just kind of always reasonable.

That is the unfortunate downside of wotr: it is extremely long and it *drags* by the end of the affair. As fun as having a billion relevant choices are you basically end up in a point where you practically require a guide if you actually want to "find" everything.

Staunton is dead, Minagho fled, and Nurah is locked in my prison. Drezen is mine...I mean, ours.

Also I had no idea how I won the fight. One minute Staunton is slaughtering us, then the next minute the cutscene plays. Guessing Lan got a lucky crit when I wasn't looking lol

Every mythic path has it's own theme, and if don't remember it wrong it's going to be your Drezen theme, so you will hear quite some time.

I was gonna try for Lich, but I guess I wasn't evil enough. Actually, I'm not sure I even had the option. I had Angel, Aeon, Azata, and Demon. There were 3 that were locked. I know I missed Trickster and Lich is another one. What's the third?

If you talk about Drezen, you missed the possibility to select Lich and Trickster.

6 different path total. That's it. If you have all of them available at this point, you get some steam achivement I think.

But:
You may be able to split to a different path far later on.

About Lich and "not evil enough". That's not the requirement.

You just have to find something. In the cave behind the swarm queen in leapers smile.

If you found this, it's basically unmissable. Every option about that object just screams "this is the lich path".

No, finding the thing is missable.

If you found it, you activly have to do actions to prevent you from unlocking lich.

Or, to say it how it is:
If you want to become a Lich, and you find some strange powerful wand, controlling the souls of the departed, you obviously want to controll them, and not destroy the wand.

And honestly, if you want to become a lich, but destroy the most powerful tool of necromancy you encounter, you don't deserve becoming a lich.

Also apparently Aeon and warpriest don't get combined spellbooks which is disappointing

If you ever play again and manage to unlock all mythic paths you can create a save before MR3 and use that as a starting point for every other run. For your first run you're going to miss out on a fair number of things unless you use guides. For my first run I'm pretty sure I only unlocked Angel, Demon and Aeon which I picked angel as a 2h fighter and I went as far as Nenio's dungeon for her quest, and as much as I love Nenio I wasn't going to subject myself to the torture that is her final dungeon so I restarted and went Azata. I'm pretty sure angel is the last base mythic path I completed and boy is it a power fantasy.

Angel and Lich are the only combined spellbooks unless you use Toybox.

However, I tried that once with a Magus Aeon and couldn't use the highest level Aeon spells because they went to 7 or 8 and Magus only goes to 6.

Lich is probably the hardest of the main paths to unlock, especially if you don't explore Leper's Smile or whatever too well.

Correct. That's really only an option for Angel and Lich. None of the others have combinable spellbooks.

Why is this my talent

It is less likely that you missed it than you just knee-jerk choosing any one of the not-evil options when you interacted with it and thus don't really remember it as a relevant choice. Any of the more "secret" evil Mythic Paths (there is only really one actually secret path, and it's not evil) require that you actively perform overtly evil things in order to actually get them, and unlike the good versions basically every one of the steps requires you to traverse a dialog tree to continue (sort of a constant "are you sure you want to continue" warning).

Though as mentioned, it is the actual finding the options are missable and not the "becoming a Lich" afterwards. While none of the steps are particularly hard to come across (hence why it's not really a secret class) it is still very possible to just not interact with everything. In addition, there is a level of "your choices have consequences", such as how non-generic people died because you took too long dumpster diving for loot (even if it wasn't apparent at the time) back on page 5.

I missed Azata on my first playthrough too.

I was a chaotic oracle going barbarian style, of course I don't sing along with some strange hippies.

Trickster and Lich I encountered, but I denied them more or less knowingly. The character was never supposed to be Azata, Lich or Trickster anyways.

No worries about the Lich thing.

You really should be crying about missing out on the secret Mythic Path. Lich was counter to your character, the secret one is entirely the one that you want to be gunning for. (b ' ')b

That fight was the first time I felt the need to turn on turn based mode.

If you're a follower of Sarenrae you get a very nice buff during the fight. I used that buff to clear out wintersun including that demon fight in the cave and getting a lot of xp from that one ghost you fight like 8 times, I've heard they patched out the ghost giving xp after every fight in the latest patch.

Daeran made a bath for me. The flirty banter between us is kinda fun. Oh no, I'm being seduced by a degenerate. Not again.

Pissing off a council is an RPG tradition for me.

Met demon wife. But now I kinda wanna see the Daeran romance through. I can fix him.

No that doesn't end the act. The act only ends when you go to the abyss.

That's part of your mythic quests and doing them leads to an increase in mythic ranks.

Don't hook up with Demon waifu once you've committed to Daeran. Her's is like the most wholesome shit in the whole game and deserves better than that.

You can do multiple romances up until act 5. At that point you're forced to choose one.

Most characters can survive, yes. While I don't really remember who you are talking about specifically a good rule of thumb is that if someone dies there was some option/action somewhere that could have prevented their death. That isn't 100%, mind you, but it is a common thing in wotr.
