I don't like plain milk at all. It's fine with cereal or something, or with some other flavor added like chocolate.

I myself drink Half and Half, but I mainly enjoy it for cooking. it makes instant pudding incredible. Just wish it wasn't so expensive

lactose free milk is fine, lasts longer and tastes even better IMO

You forgot the cream part.

Seriously, it's scary how few people have tried a glass of milk with 1 spoon full of vanilla or strawberry (tillamooks for me is the best), mixed in.

It's actually way better than a milkshake for me, coats your tummy to prevent heart burn, and doesn't have that much sugar in it.

Love it.

I am slightly lactose intolerant but cheese and ice cream are worth the occasional runny nose and sinus drainage

I honestly just use plant milks for everything where I would need milk. Used to use soy, but that was a bit thick for my tastes. I usually use almond with occasionally using oat. I would use oat milk all the time, but it is too expensive.

Actual milk and even the lactose free stuff just tastes like lard dissolved in water to me now.

Try other brands of soy. I've never had the thickness issue with it that you describe. Soy (or pea) really is the only suitable alternative to dairy.

Oat and almond milk are essentially expensive sugar water (almond being water intensive and diluted sugar water) devoid of any real nutrition. One might as well be drinking soda.

And if someone is only using it as a splash in coffee or tea, just go for non dairy creamer.

Every soy dairy alternative is shit. Every product tastes awful.

That is literally if you buy the added sugar ones. Almonds have no sugar in them naturally.

I'm curious what oat milk you buy then. Virtually all oat milks have twice the sugar of 'regular' milk.

Thank you. That's pretty interesting. Europeans seem to handle it best, with middle eastern folks handling it the worst.
Now, is there a chance there's intolerance but people don't notice or mind? Sometimes I wonder if i have a mild intolerance, but it's never affected me much to have a concern.

Lactose tolerance (past the usual breastfeeding ages, that is) is actually a mutation, the origin of which was somewhere in Europe. As such, areas with a relatively low amount of European lineage will tend to be intolerant.

i wish I could enjoy dairy products

A long time ago when I worked at a restaurant, a customer asked for milk (which wasn't on the menu, but we carried it for kitchen prep work). I filled up a glass of milk with ice, and another waitress saw me, and was like "ice in milk?" and I was like "Well restaurants always put tons of ice in drinks that nobody ever adds ice to at their house...so yeah?" and she was like "huh, I guess." The customer never said anything.

Why would you want to water down your milk like that?

Large parts of the globe don't recognize lactose intolerance as a thing because it's so normalized. They just kind of build up a tolerance to it. It's weird.
