Vaccine is only 50% effective against delta variant is what I've been hearing

Which long term we'll be fine but Wynn kinda needed the money to start coming in asap. Don't like gambling or cruise stocks right now.

That's much lower than I have heard, if it is 50 that's against infection not serious issues. Something like 99.9% of deaths are in non vaccinated right now

Infection is misleading because an infection in vaccinated people could be as minor as a cold.

Indeed, even after you get a vaccine your body may allow the viral cells to reproduce for a bit in a way that allows you to feel very mild effects and so in that instance you become "infected". But your body has been prepared by the vaccine to deal with COVID efficiently and so it prevents a major illness in nearly every instance.

A contagious cold where infecting people who aren't vaccinated could be very fatal.

It's really not as minor as you're implying. It slows down removing the virus as a widespread problem tremendously, particularly because we're not sure how long the vaccine provides protection yet.

Not that we know enough about it to be completely sure about anything, or that the extent of the problem particularly matters when it relates to stock prices anyway, but you know. I'm not saying WE should panic here but

1. The stock market may panic either way
2. SOME level of panic may in fact be warranted

If only there weren't a veritable cult of people in our country who have chosen to avoid getting the vaccine in large part through misinformation and unfounded fears.

Like, I got mine as early as I could get an appointment, and I've encouraged anyone I knew who showed any reluctance to do the same. I've spent time explaining why the fear they are expressing is completely unfounded. But I'm only 1 person and there is only so much I can do to persuade people who don't want to hear it.

If you sell a put at $820 and it drops to $750, itll take long time to get back up to $820 compared to selling a put at, say, $800. Who knows how hard it can fall, is what Im saying.

I mean you want to sell puts on stocks you have interest in buying to begin with. That was the whole lesson of the harry potter thing.

Nvidia will keep going up because there's a damn chip shortage and revenues are just gonna keep going up as demand keeps going up. Also they have a deal with ARM that may or may not happen that is gonna turn them into a chip juggernaut if it does.

I mean in the end it really doesn't matter too much if you buy in at $820 or $800 if the stock is going to $1600. If you're considering buying at $825 today, why not just sell the $825 put. If you really want to hedge you can just sell the put out at like Aug 13 or Aug 20 for $825 for $4100 or $4900 depending on whether you wanna hold through earnings or not. It's the easiest money in the world. Well actually selling 30 $29 puts on FUBO is easier but we can't all believe in the FUBO revolution.

If you get assigned you basically got the stock for $815 (or $784 or $775). If you don't get assigned then you get $1000 (or $4100 or $4900) for free. I mean me, having the willpower to not invest $80k for a month seems like an amazing way to just get $4k monthly income, especially since if you get the stock your money is gonna double in a few years.

But yeah the key is you never buy that put back. It kinda dummy proofs you buying the dip properly because you're being paid a premium to avoid having to time it yourself. The risk is the stock moons when you don't own it but given your use of stop gains you'll never stick around for a true mooning anyway.

I took the opportunity to buy more SOFI at $17. I've lost money so far, but I believe in the stock since it seems like some early investors or executives were able to sell it and probably decided to just to avoid having their net worth mostly in one company. I think it will take several weeks and possibly a few months, but I'll see gains on it.
