I'm hoping for an announcement that they've finished the offering soon. In retrospect, of course they chose today for the offering. This was probably planned for months.

I don't see why an announcement matters.

Because the market cap is down much more than the amount of the offering. People don't want to buy while there's still an offering pending because they think that will make the price fall. If the offering is completed, people won't be expecting that anymore, and buying can pick up.

@Zachnorn does he have the same number of tokens as he did before the switch from V1 to V2? A quick googling appears that Aerdrop recently had an upgrade, but that during the changeover they essentially did a reverse split of sorts so each individual token is worth significantly more than before, but everyone has less tokens in their wallet after the change to V2.

Some/all of this could be wrong because it's based on 5 minutes of googling and twitter skimming, but there is definitely something odd happening.

Ive just gotten killed on my lidar stocks. This is why I never had less than 80% of my portfolio in index funds. Still up a healthy amount but I think my lidar losses are approaching several grand.

Closed my $33 RIOT option, cost me $250.

Sold another RIOT call at $30 for next Friday. Between the two premiums I netted $10k. Im currently down around $13k. So if it strikes next Friday, Ill only lose around $1k. Ill take that.

Why not take less premium but set the strike price at a level that will result in a net profit? Aren't you praying for a non-strike in this scenario so you can continue to sell calls?

I just want to free up my money without taking too much of a loss.

This week has been brutal. Big losses every day. I think I've lost half of my total gains since March 2020 this week! Now, a lot of that is because I've been steadily depositing money into the account over the course of that time so the amounts being invested are a lot higher now and the swings are greater than earlier on, but still, this feels pretty bad.

I've been buying the dip of course but have no more cash to throw in at this point. So hopefully things turn around for growth stocks soon.

I was told to drop about 50k into stocks all at once and decided to just drop in about 5k instead. I'm so glad I hesitated. I've lost about $500 this week (on about 20k of investments) which is bad, but not horrible I guess.

I'm thinking I just continue dollar cost averaging for now into ETFs. I've been burned on gambling on RCON, SOFI, and GME, so I might take a break from stock picking and just toss money into my M1 pies that mostly have ETFs based on indexes.

Yeah, I know the theory says that if you don't believe you can time the market, it's better to throw everything in to the market at the outset, but psychologically that can be quite problematic. I think it makes sense to work with smaller amounts until you have a good feel for the volatility and you can avoid panic selling.

I am pretty bullish on SOFI and will probably be adding to my position in the near future.

Yeah, early on I panic sold a few times and got hurt by it. Now I'm tossing in money from time to time and sometimes I lose money, but I'm more calm about it. There's a difference between tossing in 2-3% of my cash life savings at once compared to putting in 95% of it. Especially in such an uncertain market where more people than ever are talking about a crash.

Kinda thinking of adding to SOFI but not sure considering my losses on it so far.

Same. Down $22k, mitigated by $10k options at least.

Futures are looking pretty bad.

Between the inflation numbers, the delta variant, earnings, and the constant talk about overvaluation, I'm feeling bearish this week.

I'm holding because I missed my sell window (I wanted to sell on the 9th but I didn't get to it). But I'm considering waiting to buy.

I hope you are seeing calls on your existing positions.

I feel like there is money to be made with options but I've never played with them so I have no idea. Maybe it's a good time to play with paper trading.

If you own stocks that are currently way below where you bought them,you should sell calls on them at least at your entry price, if not lower (depending how far down you currently are). Its literally free money.
