https://opencritic.com/game/11290/mass-effect-legendary-edition

I mean no surprise here it's a 94% (although only 6 reviews so far). It's one of the best trilogies in gaming just now looking much better than their old console versions ever did. Not sure how it compares to PC mods though.

Attack of the Fanboy - 5/5
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a fan's dream come true. With all three games and almost all of their DLC included in one upgraded package there simply isn't more to be asked for here other than a full remake.

Press Start - 9.5/10
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition stands tall as one of the best remasters that I've ever played. The amount of care and effort that has gone into restoring the original Mass Effect along with the other two games is unmatched. While there are some underlying minor design issues with the original game, Legendary Edition is the best way to experience the Mass Effect trilogy. Period.

GameGrin - 10/10
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is a phenomenal remaster of the original trilogy, with enough changes to not only feel fresh, but with enough quality-of-life improvements to truly call this the definitive way to play the Mass Effect trilogy.

Sirius Gaming - 9/10
This is the most definitive version of the trilogy so far. For series veterans, we have a unified look for your customized Commander Shepard that you will experience adventures with till the bitter end. This not only applies to male Shepard. Female Shepard from the third game is the default model from the beginning. If that doesnt put a smile on your face, I dont know what will. For first-time players, you will get the best version of the games, complete with all the DLCs. And a photo mode to boot! What more can you ask for?

Hobby Consolas - 8.9/10
The update of the game has its pros and cons, but the main improvements are well received. Narrative, setting and dialogs are still awesome, so having all condensed in a single package feels like a real treasure.

The Mako is heavier so it's easier to control.

Perhaps the best thing is that you no longer get nerfed on XP when you kill stuff in the Mako.

Down to a 91 after 12 reviews now

Gaming Trend
The fact of the matter is, there are over 100 hours of game ahead of me across three games and more than 40 pieces of high-quality DLC like Lair of the Shadow Broker, Leviathan, and Overlord now folded directly into the story. So the saying goes, you cant step into the same river twice, but Mass Effect Legendary Edition is certainly going to make one hell of an attempt at it. Now, if you will excuse me, Ive got some Keepers to go scan.

Anything bad come out yet? I can't imagine SOMETHING in the package isn't messed up being EA and all, but I have high hopes.

I think this actually unlocks 8PM EST??

The bad is that they sort of flattened the mood in some places, also ironing out some of the quirks of 1 makes it less unique.

wow ruining the classic mass effect 1 experience of hopping out of the mako for a massive firefight for the exp, using it as cover resulting in its health being depleted, then hopping back into it and watching it instantly explode from a light breeze causing a game over

I kind of want to wait until I get a PS5 to play this but that could be quite a while so perhaps my resolve will break some time earlier.

also bioware do this for dragon age next please so i can play inquisition without having to jump through a bunch of silly hoops to carry over previous game choices

Presumably they just go long enough for the elevator conversations to play despite being fully loaded. Or maybe you can skip them.

I have never heard of most of the sites that are currently listed with reviews!

I used to really love ME but it has dated quite poorly for me in terms of the writing, some themes and some directorial choices, and I think the medium has moved past what Bioware was once at the forefront of. I won't be getting this, but I hope people who play it for the first time can have a good time.

Review copies were sent out less than 48 hours ago, so any reviews we're seeing now are from people who didn't complete all three games. Probably why they're from less reputable sites.

Is this true? I don't think any WRPGs have really surpassed ME since then. Disco Elysium comes closest, but that's a pretty different style of game.

The metacritic scores might not bear this out entirely, but it always felt to me that the critical reception to Witcher 3 surpassed that of Mass Effect.

I know Larian (Divinity: Original Sin II in particular) has been getting a lot of buzz in recent years too, especially since they got Baldur's Gate 3. Particularly when you consider Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 are arguably the high point of "Old" Bioware for many.

ME1 is always going to be the weak link in gameplay, but 2 and 3 (3 especially) still hold up well.

excuse me.

ME1's gameplay was miserable. You would get into a fight and all of your squad mates would keel over and die in seconds, even after plugging defensive stats into him.

I never played ME2 because ME1's gameplay was such an absolute disaster, even though everyone tells me that ME2 improves it greatly.
