Does anyone remember if you can re-customize your ME1 character at the start of a NG+? Like can I play as an Engineer during the first run and as an Adept in the second (with the same character)?

They had mostly fixed that issue by ME3 anyway, so it's probably something in line with that.

I mean, my understanding is that ME3 changed how the Paragon/Renegade checks worked so if they changed ME2 to work on that system yeah that'd likely help.

ME2 had a bizarre hidden internal %-based-on-hypothetical-max threshold check even though the user-facing alignment display.... didn't operate off that. So you could have cases where your status screen showed you full Paragon but you could still fail hard Paragon checks if you weren't playing pure paragon and drifted too far from what you could have hypothetically had. It was usually only an issue on those two particular squadmate conflict conversations but still it undeniably punished you for not playing pure alignment (let alone neutral)

ME3 greatly overhauled the system. One of the best changes it made!

Every ME1 human other than the scanned in literal male model Shepard always looked terrible. It's not so bad for some characters, but others are just horrific sometimes.

Whenever people talk about how fantastic ME1 looked, or how Andromeda looks worse than ME1, it's because they're thinking of/comparing ME1 aliens. Wrex for example looks better here than a ton of the characters in EVERY other ME game, not just Andromeda.

ME1 was also visually stunted by just how bad all the armor is. Everyone looks like they're wearing Halloween Star Trek costumes most of the time.

My most welcomed changes are all about the Trophies, though. They were very considerate of completionists like me. ME1 was a nightmare of time and effort to Platinum - now it's theoretically possibly to do it in one playthrough (though you'd need to start with Insanity). The original game required a minimum of three well-strategized runs.

I'm not having a ton off issues with shooting, just the camera. Again, it's way too close to your character.

I also REALLY wish I could use the right stick on the wheel instead of the left.

You don't even need to beat the games on Insanity for the Platinums! They're in a separate "bank" of trophies.

Nice. Looks accurate to what little humanoid features we could see through her mask previously. People still aren't gonna be happy that she's not alien enough even though we always knew her face was humanoid.

Tali never should have gotten a face reveal is the thing. Not all doors need to be opened. It is an improvement from ME3's version though.

They did a big cast reunion (not everyone is here, unfortunately, no Garrus or Wrex, for instance) to celebrate the release of the Legendary Edition. Just finished watching it, and it's pretty cool.

1. Age demographic was 47.4% 18-24 years old, 37.4% 25-35 years old
2. 75.8% cis male, 18.2% cis female
3. 48.7% have played a single ME game 5+ times, 44.2% have played a single ME game 2-5 times
4. 78.3% have played the full trilogy at LEAST twice
5. Favorite games are: 52.2% Mass Effect 2, 31.8% Mass Effect 3, 13.2% Mass Effect 1
6. Opinions on the ending are extremely divided and fractured
7. 40.8% have written or read Mass Effect fanfiction
8. 56% of players prefer Male Shepard over 38.3% of players who prefer Female Shepard (5.7% no preference)
9. Soldier is simultaneously the 2nd-most played and #1 least-liked Class
10. Engineer is played by almost no one and is ranked as the #2 least-liked Class
11. Vanguard is the highest-played and most-liked Class
12. 65.3% of players pick primarily Paragon options, while 28.2% pick a mixture of both. Only 6.6% choose primarily Renegade.
13. Nearly half of them have played on Insanity difficulty

My biggest takeaway is that the Renegade Femshep vocal minority has done an excellent job at convincing people that's the 'real' Shepard!

It's this bad at the start, yeah. Once you start putting points into Sniper Rifles and getting the better guns it decreases, but it doesn't really feel decent until midgame.

Of course endgame sniping in ME1 is hilariously stupid with the high impact rounds that can send people into orbit.

I've played Paragon and Renegade MaleShep (and even Neutral MaleShep). Paragon is where it's at.

Playing as a Renegade and killing Mordin in ME3 is the most emotional moment in the trilogy IMO. Never has a video game made me feel such pain (in a good way).

God Ashley is such an absolutely worthless piece of shit. There is nothing even remotely redeemable, interesting, or charming about this character. I hate that she's mandatory, I would gladly miss content.

If you see an Ashley stan walking down the street towards you, cross to the other side of the road. Who knows what they might do!
