This would be the first I'm hearing of it. Though I don't really keep up with what they're thinking too deeply.

I don't recall them thinking highly of any Dems outside like... Gabbard. And well, I guess all that batshit JFK Jr. stuff.

As for "are any Presidents good people" thing. If we're counting US imperialism against them then the answer is basically a flat "Nope." across the board, and I get that argument. But since it removes all nuance from the conversation I'd argue that in some ways that that "sin" lies institutionally with the office more than any individual. Suppose Sanders had become POTUS, I 100% believe that all that shit would continue. At best maybe a few aspects of it might be dialed down slightly, but the key word there is slightly, it'd still be happening a lot. So does that mean Sanders would go from a "good" person to "bad"? If you want to say yeah, then I get you and under that framework I wouldn't argue against you but I'm not entirely sure that's what most people seem to imply when they talk about this stuff.

To clarify it is a little complex. The_donald wasnt a monolith so mileage definitely varied based on groups. Carter was one of only two democratic presidents that had any sort of favorable view there.

There is a chunk that was just virulent racists and sexists or just so anti-SJW that they didnt care they were hanging out with people in the former groups. They had no real politics other than SJW people bad people who yell at SJW people good. They didnt seem to care about any policies at all or just went along with whatever Trump said. These people didnt have much good to say about anyone one the democrats side outside of Tulsi Gabbard.

Then there were like hardcore conservatives that were piggybacking on Trump doing literally everything they wanted. They spoke of religion openly or tax brackets and poor people sucking. They liked absolutely no democrats and thought they were an existential threat to America.

The other really big group was essentially the politicians are evil the rich are out to get us the Illuminati are turning the freaking frogs gay people. They liked Trump because he wasnt a politician in their eyes. He wasnt part of the global cabal they thought controlled things behind the shadows. It was this group that liked Carter. I have no clue if it was because of his image as a humble peanut farmer or his work with habitat for humanity, but he was not viewed as part of the establishment. Very few people cared about his politics here, they just thought he was a genuinely good guy that was overwhelmed by the office.

There were other smaller groups that hung out in the Donald frequently but those were the most vocal.

West Virginia isn't stupid because of a "different background." It's stupid because it's an intentionally ignorant low educated state that does a great job of keeping its population dumb.

I really don't give a crap about winning ruby red WV. The only way to appease them would be to strip away LGBTQ+ rights, make the bible the only study material in school, ban all forms of immigration, and make abortion completely illegal, including rape and incest.
