It's kinda weird. Despite the episode mostly existing to characterize Sylvie, I feel like I barely learned anything about her. It might just be Hiddlestoon dominating the screen but I feel like Loki's character got developed more than hers.

There's still a possibility there's some twist with her going on so I'll reserve judgement for now because surely they are saving the juiciest and most interesting parts for later.

As someone with only surface level knowledge of Thor comics and characters, it's pretty obvious to me what the twist regarding Sylvie will be. Look up Enchantress.

While she is obviously based on that character, the MCU pretty much always takes these characters in a new direction. See: Agatha Harkness

I'm with para on this and I dont think it's going to be that straightforward. And tbh her being a variant of an existing character is the most interesting thing she has going for her so I don't see how they do "this character we just introduced is actually some other character" without it being a cop-out

I was so upset when Mobius got pruned. So glad we found out pretty quickly that they're not dead lol. But yeah pretty fucking awesome episode overall! The Time Keepers being robots was unexpected! But it also made me kinda happy because it excuses how they looked <_<

It's completely in character for him, I think. I can absolutely believe Loki is enough of a narcissist to fall in love with his alternate-timeline self.

that explanation doesn't work for me because sylvie's personality is clearly way different than loki's. if she would have been a carbon copy of loki, this would have been really clever. but with the way they're doing this, i'm not buying it.

Really great episode. Mobius and Loki are so good. I feel like this is way more interesting than Falcon & Winter Soldier not that that show was bad.

So uh did I miss something towards the end of episode 4? What happened to Hunter B-15? After the camera started to focus on Loki I dont remember seeing her again even though she was in the room fighting with them. Did she leave? Did she get pruned? It seemed like she literally just left the scene and was forgotten?

I had this same thought and was told she could briefly be seen knocked out on the floor near the end of the scene.

Reading the MCU-wiki...

B-15 unlocked Loki and Sylvie's collars, freeing them from the Time Twister, and tossed them weapons. After doing so, B-15 was promptly knocked out by the Minutemen.

Looking back... yeah after that 00:38:50 punch in the face she's on the ground and the soldiers she was fighting turn their attention to the Lokis as Revonna shouts to protect the Time Keepers

Yeah, that didn't seem to be very well-shot. I was a bit confused at first too, but I did kind of see her body lying on the ground so I did assume she was clocked off-screen or something.

Is it not in-character for Loki to project his own thoughts onto someone who is only superficially like him and then fall in love with the false projection he's built up for himself? Dude is a TURBO narcissist.

If Sylvie actually reciprocates then yeah maybe you have a point. That would be stupid (but, admittedly, very funny).

Definitely not a fan of Loki x Sylvie and if I need Ravonna Renslayer around purging Loki away from her to keep it that way so be it!

Great episode but that bit's an oddly heteronormative turn after the previous ep - not to say bi characters shouldn't be in m/f relationships or anything like that, but it feels like the classic writing trope that you just can't have a close relationship between a man and woman without making it a romantic thing, because I really don't buy the infatuation built up from such a brief encounter on Lamentis.

I agree though so far it seems a bit one-sided like only Loki is falling for her and it's not exactly reciprocated the same way at least yet.

Been browsing twitter about it and there's definitely a lot of people uncomfortable with the relationship - although to be fair I can't help think well that's the source material for you, in that Mythological Loki has done way more fucked up things (lmao we ain't getting bestiality in the MCU tho). I do though agree with Lasa's feelings that personally the defence of Loki x Sylvie as "self-love" steps on the two characters' individuality. Can't deny it'd be a very Loki thing though.
