I know your first reaction is to think of non-medicine like how in China they grind up dried sea cucumbers "for good health", but that is not at all what "alternative medicine" means.

Alternative medicine can be anything that a doctor or hospital wont suggest.

Chiropractic practices are considered "alternative medicine" but it works just fine.
I used to have a spinal disk out of place but a a series of scheduled sessions got my disk back in line and I havent had neck/back pain since.

I'm skeptical but not completely closed to alternative medicine. I know full well the doctor's aren't like super efficient and up to date on everything. I still do want a reason why things work though. Chiropractic stuff makes plenty of sense in that regard.

There was that thing I read where you said you were having problems with Anxiety.

It may not work for everyone but a lot of people say CBD helps with Anxiety, I have tried it myself (in the form of smoke) and its very relaxing and non-psychoactive.

I actually was on cbd oil a few months ago. Theres 2 issues with it. The main one is that it just didn't do THAT much. It did help, but barely. Taking higher doses made me feel sedated and miserable and panicked. The other issue is that it uses a pretty common pathway in the liver that a lot of other medications use so I'd have to stop taking it potentially regularly to try out other medications so instead I just decided not to use it. Oh, it's also expensive but thats minor compared to life and death.

Anyway, life is not being kind to me lately. I have a mild fever and it burns when I pee. Think I might have picked up an infection at the hospital. Gonna go to urgent care when it opens. Fever is especially worrying for me since I can't sweat so I have to be ultra careful not to overheat. That means no blankets or warm clothing which sucks. Makes it scary to go to sleep too. Really sucks if I got an infection cause I hurt my hands using their shitty cold sinks to make sure I washed my hands super well. Hopefully I just have a UTI that responds well to antibiotics and it's not too rough.

I had a similar experience once many years ago, was there over night. Will not go back, don't even see psychologists etc, to avoid any chance of being admitted. Those places can literally be hell holes. I'm sure they are all not that bad, but you have no control and if you get in a bad one, your screwed.

Least you had your mom to come and scream at them, and they let you out cause of that cool dude. You can get stuck in there for weeks before they decide to let you out if your unlucky.

It is a good way to prevent suicide attempts though, if people are more afraid of getting stuck in a psych ward then having to continue to live, then they won't attempt to kill themselves lol, or they will be very very careful and sure they won't fail.

In anime news I ALMOST baited my cat loving sister into watching nekopara. Told her it was about cats and people who love cats. I still got a few eps to catch up on myself. Amazing how a hentai game became a super wholesome iyashikei anime.

I'm honestly not sure how she'd react to the show. She'd either be utterly disgusted or love it. She likes cats more than people by a pretty wide margin. She is a casual who only watches dubs though and I'm pretty sure nekopara is sub only so theres no chance for now.

Went to the primary care doctor and I don't get it. This doctor last time actually seemed pretty decent but this time he was borderline worthless and rude. Basically "that falls outside my scope" to literally everything but also wouldn't refer me to a uralogist like the urgent care doc said to do yesterday. Probably won't go back. He gave the impression that he knows actually nothing. I don't understand how this is even the same doc as last time. Wouldn't order the tests the allergist asked him to. Didn't even bother to figure out what my 2 hospital visits were for in the last week. Was completely unaware my liver enzymes were high which have been high since the beginning and I mentioned it to him last time. I don't know man. Oh well. I'm doing some treatment stuff at home with elemental diet stuff and probiotics so I'm gonna try my best not to let this get to me but it's just hard to see what I consider a grave injustice and just let it go.

Trying to decide if I go to back to my previous doc that didn't feel the lump in my neck and wanted to get me surgery against the specialist and surgeon recommendation because "there is no risk" or do I try a 4th primary care doc and start all over again getting my records sent over and explaining my complicated 9 month medical history. Like, am I getting just mega unlucky or is there no point in expecting anything at all from primary care docs and I just should stop scheduling appointments with them? It's not like they remotely "coordinate care" or explain my options or anything. What do they actually do?

These are the kinds of experiences that 10-7 years ago when I had the same problem and it eventually went away, I never bothered getting follow up tests and trying to figure out what it was because I was just so convinced doctors would do nothing and figure out nothing and here it is years later and I feel like I'm right back to the same point just much less healthy. Just try to solve it on my own and forget there is a medical system outside of the ER. It'll at least be better for my mental health.

Liar's game was pretty compelling for a manga only title. I managed to get through more of it than any other manga. Worst is kind of impossible to say. There's pretty much no barrier to entry so you have quite a lot of trash titles that have like 1 published chapter and then were dropped.

Yeah I'd watch the shit out of an anime for it. It's basically kaiji but with more elaborate games and that got an anime. It's a pretty starved and popular anime genre as well.

The anime is about the same quality as naruto or bleach after the relatively shit first 10-15 episodes. I heard the manga was slightly better. I thought it was watchable. I'd rate it above fairy tail but solidly below hxh or the seasonal shonens like mob and my hero.

I mean, the story is the same so the manga is still about the same quality as naruto or bleach manga. Just know the opening is a bit weak and generic feeling but it gets a bit better. If you want passable shonen trash to read, there ya go, you found some. If you want a great story to read, don't read shonen except hxh cause somehow it beat the formula.

Well usually anime also tends to change things. Hajime no Ippo anime cut out so much plot and character development yet gets praised a lot. Probably because of how overrated Madhouse is.

I finally finished up Toji no Miko. Think I might try to knock Senran Kagura off of my list next. Thankfully the season is nearing its end, so I'll new stuff to watch soon. Been watching a bit more Conan here and there. Good to keep around for something to watch in a pinch, or with a meal.

I beat the OG American Mario NES games. Might do Lost Levels. Beat SMB2 with all 4 characters doing solo runs with each, beat SMB3, and beat SMB1 on regular and hard mode.

Might do Lost Levels.

Lost Levels is genuinely difficult, but, if you're looking for a hardcore platforming challenge, that's definitely a viable choice, especially if you want to get the 'real' ending by finding the extra worlds.

I realize I simultaneously love the LA version of Kakegurui and get bored to distraction while watching it. I imagine it might be different if it had a dub... which actually would also increase the show's level of camp.

Granted, I guess half the problem is having already seen the anime past this point. I also dislike how they don't do the wild hair colors for most of the characters.

city one was good exp back in the day and probably is pretty best exp/h now if you get a group that is actually competent and chains bursts

I read that once. Honestly looking back at it, I realize that it was probably for furries. Nothing wrong with that but considering the content literally had a few questionable scenes in it... Yeah.
