Now I know you have been having some bad medical issues but I dont think this is a fair shake for doctors

The amount of times they could make weeks of my life easier by taking 2 seconds to answer a question, but don't just leaves me no compassion for them. They take zero initiative ever and they take so freaking long. They ignore me when I go in there as evidenced by them asking stupid questions like "do I still go to work". I've been seeing you for 3 months and I can't stand up more than 15 minutes a day or watch tv most of the time, what the fuck do you think? They for sure don't do what they "can", they do what they are legally obligated to do and no more. I'm really questioning if they really do that much. The amount of times they have lied to me is insane for a position that is supposed to gain my trust. Like 30% of what they say is just veritably false so I'm left to wonder if they are intentionally lying to me or just that incompetent.

If one more doctor tells me "I don't know whats wrong with you, but you will be fine" I'm going to lose my mind. That's not how it works. If you know whats happening, fine, tell me I'll be ok, but until then, how can you expect me to believe anything you say after that? Only one of the doctors (the surgeon) actually admitted "well, I guess we don't know, I hope you'll be fine though, and we have ruled out most of the more common issues". Yes, tell me that if thats all you have but don't just tell be me a bold faced lie that is so obvious right to my face. I spend so much time every day working myself into a rage just thinking over the doctor visits I've already had, wishing I could have been more alert to actually force them to stay and answer my questions.

It'd be so much better for my mental health to just stop going but then I'd probably die. It's so frustrating that I have to rely on these careless buffoons. And maybe I'm just unlucky. Maybe theres tons of great docs out there and I just haven't had the fortune to come across them yet but I have seen about 30 doctors in my life and not one has been anything but brief and ineffective. This ignores the time they almost killed me 7 years ago by not warning me about the side effects of the meds they prescribed so I nearly passed out at the wheel or the fact they told me I'd be fine for months only for my heart to stop and me almost die alone in my room.

If you think docs actually do much of anything besides read a chart and fill in data, and recommend the obvious course of action as dictated by the chart, you're unfortunately deluded. It takes very little searching to find millions of stories of how doctors fucked up and people died for it. Medical error is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US. Literally only 2 things are more likely to kill you than a doctor fucking up (and those are medical issues too, probably plenty of which could be prevented if the doctors were better).

You are right though. I do need to stay positive. I'm doing my best to do so. I'm thankful for the kind words and time you took to read my post. I'd happily take some of your lipids if I could.

You have a lot of things you are frustrated about, have you considered being straightforward with them and asking "Why X is this way" and "why cant I just get a straight answer, its driving me insane". You have put your thoughts into words well but maybe if you were to write up your biggest issues with the visits and submit it as a polite letter?

I got an appointment tomorrow and I intend to talk about what I want from the visit before I even get into symptoms but they are always in such a hurry it's tough. They cut me off constantly if I ever go on about anything. They refuse to talk about anything but the next step even when I ask. They just say "lets take it one step at a time" or "we will deal with that when it the time comes".

Its also tough because by the time I see the doctor I'm like half conscious, exhausted, probably shaking uncontrollably and just wanna go home or to the ER. The shaking never seems to concern them. When we've written up things to talk about and lists of symptoms they take the list and promptly ignore it. Maybe they'll skim over it and then ask "ok, whats the most important thing on this list to deal with" and they will only deal with that. Anything else is "well lets take it one step at a time".

I'm psyching myself up as much as possible to be a complete asshole if need be tomorrow and just not leave until I'm satisfied but when I start realizing half the shit they are saying is a lie that even I know enough about to catch or they just sneak out of the room and don't come back, it's hard to not think "well fuck it, I'll just go home and hope I don't die too soon".

characters are just thrown at you like they're important but no they're not

terms are brought up and then just ignored for like 300 chapters and then brought back up like you're just supposed to know what try are

fights are ridiculous and make no sense

Survived another attempt at leaving the house. The doctor this time seemed pretty good. The lump in my neck is a lymph node but it's not swollen enough to be a problem at all so it's totally fine. Got more at this point routine bloodwork scheduled and if it's low enough he's recommended the hospital check me in until my nutrition is normalized. I'll probably try to do that bloodwork tomorrow. Still don't have my MRI results but hopefully I will get them today. He didn't seem super rushed or dismissive and was pretty close to being on time.

Oh well, now I have an episode of bofuri to watch that I saved for after the appointment. I love this show.

Yeah you have I think a few hundred throughout your body. They function as like defensive checkpoints for the blood and are a vital part of the immune system. When you get sick, they may swell up but usually return to normal size within 6 weeks. I was just mostly concerned that it was big enough for me to feel and not securely held in place but apparently it's fine as long as it's smaller than 2 cm diameter.

Mine only enlarge because some got removed apparently. Pretty sure it was an unknown disease too but it was similar to others so they treated it with antibiotics.

Got the latest blood tests back. Everything points to significantly increased liver inflammation. I'm worried. ALT was 236, AST was 95. That's more than a mild elevation. Less than a month ago they were 115 and 70 respectively which was already over double the normal range. Doing my best not to freak out here but I'm pretty worried. High prealbumin as well and low BUN and white blood cell count. I just want this to be over. It's a good thing I pressured the doc into giving me these tests.

On topic I read some chainsaw man. It's ok I guess. A bit of a let down honestly.

you're not secretly a massive alcoholic, are you? that's the only reason i can see for it to be that high, that's indicative of alcoholic cirrhosis or alcoholic hepatitis

Finished reading Evergreen recently. I really liked it; no surprise since it's from the same author as Tora Dora and Golden Time. Good colorful characters, and decent plot.

I could tell there would be some kind of twist coming since there was a lot of foreshadowing in the beginning, but thankfully it didn't get too dark. If it did it would have wrecked the light mood it'd had for the whole series up until then.

It would make a great anime if they added a bit of padding; I don't think twenty chapters would last very long on its own.

Cirrhosis actually doesn't generally have high levels and typically the AST is higher than ALT in alcoholic liver conditions.

My best guess is that it's a bilary back up since my gall bladder has bile issues and my digestion shows not enough bile. So basically maybe my liver is producing enough bile, but it's not actually leaving the liver like it should. I can't really talk to a doctor till monday so all I can do is speculate. Usually liver failure happens at much higher levels.

And yeah I can only drink water and eat rice and it's been this way for 9 months so definitely no alcohol lately.

Other possibilities are some sort of infection or the mast cell disorder (MCAS) that is very rare but a pretty good match for my symptoms. Mast cells release inflammatory agents in response to allergens and it's possible that mine are releasing those things when they shouldn't be. This can cause inflammation in the areas it's happening in. Of course, I don't really perfectly match with that either. It'd be odd that 9 months ago, my ALT and AST were around what they were a month ago, but as the symptoms got worse, they actually went down, until like 2 months ago where they went back up and of course now they are higher than ever.

I wish I felt better enough to look at all my previous test results. It's possible the lowered levels coincided with taking ranitidine which is an H2 blocker. I was taking it for acid reflux on doctors orders but it's also part of the treatment for MCAS. Perhaps it was actually working but I'm not sure if the timing lines up.

Back from the ER. I'm not dying just yet. Got a CT and ultrasound. Everything looked normal except some small kidney stones and fat on my liver (gotta be the only fat left anywhere on my body at this point). My scary enzyme levels have dropped by 17 points. Still way too high but at least moving in the right direction. I'm going to try to pressure my GP to get me weekly bloodwork from now I'm on for monitoring my condition.

It kinda depends. The surgeon and GI thought it was very unlikely to help my issue. My bile issues were just barely outside the normal range and they typically take it for people with much worse ejection fraction rates. It's still an option if we can't come up with anything else to do but it's a pretty last ditch thing with moderate risk and low chance to help.

The newest episode of bofuri is out and it's like "hey, I heard you like when maple gets bullshit OP by accident, how about we do that for 23 minutes straight (even through the credits)". This show is the dumbest fun I've had in a long time with an anime. It's just so light hearted and happy and fun.

Just saw the trailer for the tower of god anime. The linework looks a little sloppy, I think intentionally. Kind of reminds me of that fate/GO anime still airing in terms of style, but not animated nearly as well. Mild concern about that. It says it airs in april though. That's pretty soon. Looks to me like it'll probably just cover the intro arc if it's 12 episodes which is basically a prequel to the real story. Maybe if we are lucky it'll be 24 and they'll cover till the first reunion. I really hope it's good. The webtoon was pretty appealing. I hope they can capture that sense of strangeness pervading everything from the webtoon in the anime.

I'm about ready to stab somebody. That scan I've been waiting months for, it'll be AT LEAST june before I can get it. I fucking need this scan. They won't start treating me for dysautonomia before I get the fucking scan and it's taking months. I could literally die because this shit takes so god damn long. Like, I'd actually fucking kill them if they were here right now holy shit. I'm beyond angry. They told me it might take till febuary for me to get the scan. They won't answer shit until the last day of feb they are open and this is what they tell me?!? I could have at least tried to schedule somewhere else but apparently them getting the 400 fucking dollars instead of somebody else is enough reason for me to suffer for literally half a god damn year. I just wanna quit man.

If something like that isn't going fast enough, look elsewhere. And I don't mean now after the fact, I mean when they told you "until Feb" at that time look for somewhere else. I hope you can find someplace that'll give you that scan long before June.

It's highly unlikely. The main reason I didn't look is because there is nowhere else close that does it and I can't travel. It'll probably take 2-3 months to get me in anywhere. If I'd known it was going to be this damn slow and they were just lying to my god damn face 4 months ago, I'd have looked into somewhere else but shaving off 2-3 weeks at the cost of traveling a few hours which I just can't do didn't seem worth it. Taking that risk for 3-4 months is a totally different idea. I'm gonna see if anywhere else can get it done faster and pester all the doctors I see to try and get me moved up but since I don't have a diagnosis (which i need the fucking scan for) doctors won't do shit to make things go faster. It's not even an expensive scan, it's literally 400-500 dollars. Every time I interact with people, I just lose more faith in humanity.

And of course the anger about the whole thing is physically hurting me cause my body can't handle that kinda stress but I can't just let it go.
