Luckiest - I was on Cynthia in Pokemon Platinum. We were both down to one Pokemon. Mine was Torterra. Hers was Milotic. I knew I could OHKO Milotic, but the damn thing used Ice Beam, which Torterra is 4x weak to. Amazingly Torterra survived with 1HP and then knocked out Milotic to beat the game.

Unluckiest I'll have to get back to you on.

One time in Pokemon Blue, all I needed to get to complete the Pokedex was Porygon. I thought I would have to exchange all my money for coins, go beat up the Elite Four a million times for money, and get that money exchanged for coins. But just for giggles I tried my hand at the slot machine... and won. Alright. I tried it again and won. It wasn't always the jackpot, but I always won some amount so I wasn't losing money. I played it for what felt like half an hour ALWAYS winning, until I had enough to buy Porygon.

To this day, I'm not sure if I was lucky or if the game was programmed somehow to know when the player needed Porygon and thus improved your chances at the casino.

Nothing really comes to mind for luckiest. I mean 1-2 banners in the 800+ days I played Dokkan Battle I was lucky. I don't usually think about luck much for regular games.

Unlucky oh boy almost every time I ever summon in any mobile game. Lots of solo Overwatch matches if you count "unlucky" as having awful team comps where nobody cooperates or switches or anything. I am sure it happens to a lot of people, but I swear one day I played a good 12 hours and maybe won 3 matches

Unlucky is my middle name but I can't remember anything that happened in a game right now

Statistically I've been super lucky in FFT a few times. Connecting hits and steals that have like 5% chance of connecting.

Also one time I teleported from one side of the map to the other

In Fire Emblem my lord (I want to say Eliwood) was killed by a throwing axe with like 3% hit chance. That sucked

Luckiest I'm not sure

EDIT: Actually luckiest was probably in Madden when I recovered an onside kick, threw a touchdown pass to tie it, and the guy fumbled the kickoff return and I returned it for a touchdown for the win. This all happened with like 30 seconds left

Not a video game, but the most unlucky thing to happen to me in a game was trying to invade Indonesia from Siam in Risk and failing when I had a 40-6 advantage.

EDIT: I don't remember my exact troop number and 60 was obviously an exaggeration. But I'm pretty sure it was at least 40.

I play hearthstone I expeience extreme luck and unluck everytime I play.

However I do have an insane example where way back during gvg there was a card called unstable portal which could add any minion in the game to your hand. Granted there were less minions but in one match a mage gets two powerful minions (tirion and jurraxus). But okay thats one thing but the very next game another mage gets the two same minions.

I remember in FE Conquest I died 3 times in a row to the same boss. His chances of even hitting me were super low each time, but had a decent crit chance. Still don't think that was ridiculous because I had to replay the level like 4 times because of it.

Luckiest is a tough one as I've had quite a few. So can't say for certain

Probably something in Mario Party for both luckiest and unluckiest

During the summer of '03, my friends and I played Mario Party 4 all the time. There were at least three instances where I was in the lead in the final five turns and exchanged all of my stars and coins with someone via Chance Time pinball game. Needless to say, I lost each time that happened.

I can't think of a lucky moment right now. Probably a hail mary moment in Halo or some other FPS I played a lot online.

An 88% fatal hit missing late in a FE map sticks in my mind as the luckiest; the way FE does random numbers that 88% was actually 97%, so I was saved by a 3% chance of having to redo an hour-long battle. (It was the prison map of Radiant Dawn.)

Not sure about unluckiest off the top of my head.

A couple of moments for luck stand out. The first is beating Mario 64 the first time when I was 10. I was trying to throw Bowser onto the bomb and I wasn't very good at the toss in terms of precision and gauging strength. I spun him around as fast as I could and let go...only for him to go all the way across the platform and hit a bomb on the other side.

I did a Geomancer SCC in FFT a couple years ago, and I was doing the Velius fight. I was down to my last character in critical condition and Velius was getting ready to cast CLOPS. I had one last hit to finish him off, and it did, probably solely due to the extra damage he takes while summoning.

Unluckiest: Can't think of anything for a video game per se, but I did manage to roll 3 consecutive 1s in my one time playing B8 Discord D&D

Only time I remember feeling lucky was getting an early Fomalhaut in FFXII from the Lhusu Mines without a guide or abusing reloads or anything. But upon looking into it a bit I don't actually think it was that lucky by the pure maths-- most sources say it has like a 60% of spawn and then a 50% chance to be Fomalhaut so that'd only be a 30% chance but whatever.

Still though in terms of non-gacha good luck that felt like good luck that was probably tops. I mean I've had a lot better "luck" with other things but it never mattered much.

Worst non-gacha luck would probably be something from a Fire Emblem game. I don't remember anything particularly egregious offhand.

Then...the next Pokemon was a shiny Fearow. I was with a friend and we made such a ruckus that my mom came in and admonished us lol.

Unluckiest:

In RBY, I was trying repeatedly to catch an Articuno with good stats, with maybe 30-40 attempts .... but get this: on one of the catches, Articuno had absolute MINIMUM stats. That's right. It was 0/15 on Every. Single. Stat.

Probability-wise, the odds of that happening... I'll let YOU calculate it. There are 5 stats and you have a 1/15 chance of getting the lowest (or the highest) stat possible. Or, you could say it's about as likely as getting a royal flush by drawing five cards out of a deck. Another way to put it is that you would catch an average of 95 shinies in the later generations before you catch a level 50+ Pokemon in RBY with absolute minimum stats.

Why couldn't it have been a max stat Articuno? The chances of getting that is exactly the same. ~_~

Luckiest:
I once participated in a 64-man tournament in RBY about 16 years ago. I happened to be in the finals. The other guy, Lomboy, was better than me, honestly. But even he can't win a haxxored match!

First off, it was Golem against Nidoking with Focus Energy, meaning Nidoking gets an almost guaranteed critical hit. If my Golem gets KO'd, Nidoking cleans up the rest of my team. But Nidoking used Blizzard...and it missed! And my Golem KO'd Nidoking with Earthquake! Keep in mind a critical hit Earthquake wouldn't have KO'd me, which is why Lomboy chose Blizzard.

Later on, it has come down to my Exeggutor against Lomboy's Alakazam, our last Pokemon. My Exeggutor is at like 10% health. The Alakazam is about 40% and paralyzed. I don't have Double-Edge. I'm screwed, right? Nope! I get a critical hit Psychic against Alakazam...and Alakazam gets fully paralyzed. Then Exeggutor gets ANOTHER critical Psychic against Alakazam, and Alakazam falls... and I win the winner's bracket in the tournament! So cruel.

Luckiest?

My Jolteon fucked IMAP(Does anyone remember him, he posted here eventually, left long ago) in an interboard Pokemon tournament way back in the day. It was basically like Jolteon vs 5 Pokemon including like a Blissey and something like an Exeggutor or something stupid. First of all, Jolteon in GSC had no business beating a Blissey. But, and apparently luck has penalized me forever after this fact, Jolteon paralyzed it with Thunderbolt, and then crit the fucking thing down to hell while the Blissey was simultaneously fully paralyzed every single turn. Jolteon proceeded to do similar bad, luck-based things to the rest of the team in a battle I had no business winning.

Other lucky things?

Got the claim on Nidhogg in a room full of 200 or so people in FFXI.
Got a Kraken club to drop in XI.

Also I am bitter because the only reason I had to beat IMAP in the losers bracket on that tournament is because my opponent dropped mid-match in our RBY game in which I was going to easily win 5-0(I had lost GSC 4-0), which would have made the tiebreaker RBY which was far and away my preferred game.(I think I won 3-0 then lost a GSC tiebreaking 3rd game or something like that)

Didn't help that I already hated the guts of the person that dropped on me.

Still bitter and that was over half my life ago or something like that.
