I get that impression every once in a while as well. I pulled 3 Illias in 10 Tickets last week while I was trying to get a few units for Kingsglaive bonus. It's not the first time it's ever happened, but that's the most recent example I could think of.

My wife and I were talking about the on banner gold rates earlier tonight. Based on my personal experience and hers, as well as talking to some people on the FFBE board, we all seem to agree that on banner gold rates aren't anywhere near 25% if you get a gold. It seems like they're closer to 10%.

It's kind of weird, I get a constant supply of Setzer and Amelia, but my wife gets Sozhe on about 25% of her golds. She has him at 55% just from fusing them together already.

personally i'm of the belief that summons are essentially "pooled" into certain times and slots. there's X amount of Golds in Time A, Y amount of Golds in Time B, and certain ones of each at that. once the pool runs out it goes into the next batch and the cycle repeats.

that's the best explanation as to why sometimes i can go through a streak of like 8 pulls and 5/8 of them are golds and other times it's a streak of 15 blues - golds ran out. try again later.

I just tried to do the 8 skeleton key ELT, was picking my friend unit and got a pop-up that said something like SERVER MSG_53 and then it went back to the home screen.

I click back into it and the ELT is locked again and my 8 keys are still gone :/

I think Im pretty down on this event overall. the rewards arent that great and if youre going to make these bosses difficult, I shouldnt have to grind out a secondary currency just to attempt them.

first tier is very easy. second tier is okay if you go in prepped for it. third tier is ???

The ELT boss wasn't bad, even my wife cleared that one yesterday. I've heard nightmare is insanely difficult, so I'm waiting for some other strategies to come out before attempting it. Thinking there's a shot at double Rikku with a pair of Tidus', or DV/Friend DV. The boss has 30% water and light weaknesses. It'd be easier to keep an 80% imperil up on light, but being able to do 130% with water would be really nice.

Cleared out Nightmare. Dark Veritas is really more of a support unit for this one, but he's outstanding at it (at least with how I used him). Used enhanced TT and friend TT for the damage. The friend TT had a holy counter so I didn't get my tickets, but I got both of the espers. Didn't even bother with 5 man.

I'm honestly terrified to try this boss, even if I'm getting some idea of how to tackle it. Not going to bother until they fix the Necro Dagger/Serpent Mace issue, though.

What sort of team loadouts are people here using? Tilith seems a no-brainer for the No White Magic and providing stat-break protection. I've read that Zargabaath could help a lot with item usage to keep MP up and provides resistances to confusion and blind, and provide elemental protection. Debating between WoL and VoE as a tank for either breaks or stat-break protection respectively. Orlandeau for damage and MP drain probably, and probably a friend Orlandeau since my dupe isn't up to speed equipment-wise. From there I'm not sure what my last support unit should be. Rem could provide Re-raise, MP Drain, and act as a finisher for damage. Rikku for Hyper Nul All, Hyper Mighty G, and anything else to throw into the rotation. Soleil for significantly better buffs.Marie for elemental and status protection.

I dunno, I think I might have the team to pull this off, I just don't have the gear or the skill. Pretty sure this is going to be the hardest thing I've tried, other than my abysmal Sheratan attempt.

My best attempt had double fry, WoL, EV, Tillith, and Rikku.

Every thing until 60% was just keeping buffs up( mitigation from Rikku and VE, break resist from ve and tillith, breaks and tanking from WoL)and getting the espers out. Then from that to the fatal storm was kind of a mess due to rikku getting confuzzled.

As far as units go, I found Dark Veritas to be the most useful. Give him the highest attack, and he'll be hit with one of those every turn attacks that ends up healing him, so not only does he get a good chunk of HP back, someone else isn't getting drilled for that amount. Abyss Guard gives huge dark resist to the entire party, and he can also drain MP every turn once the fight gets to the point where you have to make sure the MP is down.

There's no worry about the dagger issue, they've already said everyone that cleared it and got the mace will be given the dagger during maintenance. Basically, you just get another serpent mace, which is awesome (especially since I hated that event and skipped it)

Another interesting strategy someone on the FFBE board used that worked is having Tilith and Ayaka both using their MP battery skills pretty much every turn (unless Tilith needed to use stat debuff resist). Heals 5k HP per turn and 100 MP to everybody. He didn't even use Rikku with that.

people recommending pimping out WoL are doing so forgetting that Pod 153 exists. if you have that, the damage reduction that gives is incredibly important.

physical break + P Shield (40% physical shield for 2 turns) + two DW lance users = easy mode.

you've got one more person who can do something, they can be a buffer or, if WoL, have him already use Light is With Us to laugh at everything you're going to see - at 8k HP and 425 DEF he wasn't even taking half damage.

I used Genji Shield on a tank with Provoke (WoL), Marie to guard against status ailments and to provide elemental protection, and Fingersnap/Bushido Freedom to eliminate Charm when it cropped up. Marie makes the trial a breeze, honestly, as she eliminates every single nasty status effect except Death and Charm, and those are easily handled with the above methods. Beyond that, any chainer with elements it doesn't resist, and you're good to go. I actually had to do her twice because I missed the Esper kill, and it was very easy both times.

I believe you have Fryevia? You should be able to 1 or 2 turn her without any issues using a Frost Flower Blitz combo between her and a friend Fry.

As a person who got the mace from the last event, losing a free one is not a problem if it makes it less of an RNGfest.

Dammit, I really need to get him! On banner golds are about as rare as a rainbow though. Thats genius. Ive seen Fry used as a tank before but shes never been able to utilize ice block with that setup.

When the rate up comes, it does nothing to impact on banner gold rates, does it? They seem obscenely low from what I've been hearing. A friend of mine just spent 30k lapis on 10+1s, and he said he got 16 golds. One on banner, no rainbows either, and I've been hearing similar things from the other board as well.

Going to try Nightmare tonight or tomorrow. I'm not going to touch Bahamut for a little bit most likely, as I need to get Wind Veritas' TMR for my Reberta. It's very tempting to use moogles for it now, rather than farm it up, but I'm still about 50% out from that. Wish I could build up two, but I'm probably better off asking for a friend with one, assuming I can cover all my bases support-wise.

Jumps get elements and killers applied now, right?
