I burned tickets until I stopped at 10. got trash barring the 4*EX- WindLord.

On the event side, I cut it close at 9 turns, but a double Fry chain with Luneth finish deals with the rider cleanly.

Glad next week is just a rerun of last year's halloween. I needed a break from banners I want to pull from.

Hopefully the four fiends banner is bad too so I can skip that one as well. Need to start rebuilding my stocks for Mistair.

Orlandeau/Agrias with Pod, Earth Veritas, Ayaka and Rikku as the main party, with Ace in reserve for mana battery or Tri-Beam.

I swapped tanks to WoL and have been just using him as a provoker non-stop and having Ayaka keep reraise on him at all times. That works alright for the first couple turns, but once I hit the 3rd turn, it's pretty disastrous if Rikku's LB isn't up. I don't really have enough TMRs to ensure she'll always have her LB active by then.

I was just sitting here at my desk, and my brain told me that I needed to use my one ticket. I ignored it and just kept getting the feeling that I needed to use it (I've been wanting to get Illusionist Nichol since he seems like he could have some use long term).

I finally give in, and use the ticket. Blue drops. Terrific, false alarm.

Do you have her pouch, Eccentric or however you spell it might be a difference maker there.

That's true! Used the 76% in moogles I had saved already, and managed to max her. Just have to finish that second needle and start working on more L&A.

If you got a bunch of Moogle and have their TMR, that helps too. I think you can do the reset trick if you don't get the necessary limit crystals as well, but I've never tried that, I wouldn't think those are also set at the start of the turn though.

Yeah I have Moogle's TMR, but it doesn't stack so all I really have for Rikku is that + dual wielding Aigaion's Arm + Override.

I wish the tougher encounters weren't so reliant on being able to mass-reraise your party.

I've had several streaks of 20 pulls with no 4* since this game has come out. I think it all normalizes in the end as my rate seems to be higher than 1/5 when not in those streaks but I almost feel like there's something slightly defective with the RNG in this game.

It makes me wonder how robust their random number generation actually is, whether it's as close as we can get or if it falls into the same pitfalls of less refined RNG that develops patterns and series after so long. After all, the odds of someone getting 4-5 of a single 5* is pretty slim, and yet it happens so often.

I don't think it does happen that often. As is the case with any anecdotal reports of randomization, you tend to hear about the anomalies way more than the norm.

While this is true, you do get a lot more amateur programmers in Mobile Gaming so I do think people are perhaps overly eager to handwave any issues claiming some sort of anecdotal bias.

Like, I remember I used to play WWE Supercard and it took a ton of complaining about the clearly broken RNG (probably about 90% of the Super Rares drawn were from a set of like 20% of the pool-- and because you played other people's decks it was clearly obvious everyone was having this issue as the 20% weren't even the best super rares or anything but they were everywhere) for the devs to actually patch it. They denied any issue with it till the end, and you even had some players white knighting and saying "naw it's just bias," but eventually the rates mysteriously changed to something resembling rates you'd actually expect.

Isn't that just like what happened with Brave Exvius early on, where Bedile, Cyan, Shadow, Sabin, Lani, Vivi, and the like were significantly more common than the other 3*s?

And then later they made the 3*s equally distributed.

Yeah, 4* max units were more common in the early days than 5* max, but that wasnt broken RNG, it was intended.

I did 5 draws today, and two of them were Victoria, who previously I'd never drawn.

Like seriously...what are the odds of that?

Getting any single 4* from a single pull is around 0.4%.

I think its around 0.05% to get two of them in 5 draws.
