Trying to plan out my 30 second dark magicite team

I should be able to do it. I have TGCs OSB sword as a 6*++ and two +Holy armors

Thinking Im going with
TGC
Agaris (OSB,BSSB)
Tyro (wrath entrust)
Rando (wrath entrust)
Yuna (USB)

Have rando equip the draw fire RM so that he is the one that gets insta killed turn 4 then have yuna revive him.

I think, that should work. Just need to plan out when my buffs go down

41 gold prizes left, ~24 hours to get them in. I don't think I'm gonna make the effort (or spend the Mithril I would doubtless need to.) I got the presumably-unique accessory - +20 Res and major resistance to paralyze, FYI - and I can live without some crystals and 5* motes. Still hoping to run into some Gold Knights tomorrow morning, but tonight I'm gonna finish off the FF6 event before I forget.

Ugh even when the knights spawn, I often only get one of them to drop a chip. Won't get all the rewards (still need Divine Cross too), trying to get as many 4 and 5* motes as possible though.

Same frustration here with the gold Knights, they're way too rare with how much stamina it takes and short the orbfest is. It sucks wasting 6 hours of stamina only to get no chips or find Knight's and have them give you false hope and they end up only giving 1 chip. And now I have to spend mythril on refreshes and it sucks so hard to waste one and not find any chips.

I don't even need the exp or orbs, I mastered all the soul breaks already, leveled everyone I want to at the moment, my magicite is either capped or over level 80 and while I need black/wind orbs I'd rather farm them through D300 torments, but I still need the *5 motes and two MCIIIs from the roulette so I'm still stuck hoping to run into Knight's.

I'll probably stop orbfest at this point, and move on to VI bonus battles, Crystal Tower, and the Torments.

Just got the last batch too. Last battle in the last stage gave me knights that dropped 3 chips.

Finished crystal tower (which I love as a concept). Still gotta do the FF6 event and JS. Once that's done, I'll try the FF5 torment (only did the 200 difficulty in the past) and maybe give the FF11 one a shot. Then it's on to trying the other magicites. Still only beaten Sealion, but I can consistently get him in ~44 seconds.

Finally finished the damn roulette, god this was painful using up so much mythril on a bad RNG event. I want to strangle whoever programmed the Gold Knights to drop orbs. I also wanted to quit earlier and just take the last 2 MC3s but RNG was not kind and one of them didn't drop until one of the last 10 rolls.

I had 78 mythril before I decided to use mythril for refreshes but now I hav 59 left, barely enough for the Crystal Tower draw tonight.

Well I like Rydia and am happy to finally have a relic for her, more FF4 synergy is nice (especially since I'm lacking on the mage side) and it's a six star black magic rod.

Had to think hard between Sarah and Yuna, went with Sarah since I have Yuna's USB already and I need better FF1 synergy. And a medica in case I'm crazy enough to do a FF1 Cid Mission. Oh it's got a holy damage boost too! Great for Raines!

is this even worth pulling on? i have Kain's OSB and Vanille's USB so those seem like decent-ish choices but... eh. and lucky draw but with tons of crap and not half price certainly doesn't help make it more appealing.

Vanille's BSB provides diffrent utility from her USB since it give mind boost to the party and her second command is a two hit holy damage attack that lowers resistance.

If you don't have Fujin, Y'shtola, Sarah, Larsa or Yuna's BSB2 it's worth pulling for those. Beatrix, CoD and Prishe are also decent, rest are meh to bad.

I'm considering Beatrix's because I have a strong Holy game, and having a Holy Imperil would be really nice.

Though it seems to be Fujin for Larsa that a lot of people are going for.

Crystal Tower choice for me is obvious: I don't have Astra. Thus, Larsa.

Minwu burst at least gives me a Hastega source that's not on a guy who I need to use meters offensively on on a character I like. And the gem draw if I get it can at least give me a good support that I like to use too.

Anyway now that I'm back in the question is which burst do I get with the gem draw.

I kinda like Setzer and Faris about equally, and their bursts seem to serve similar purposes. So I guess it comes down to which one of their bursts holds up better and is Faris that much better than Setzer out of the box? What are the pros and cons between the two.

Faris' is dated and doesn't stack with Full Breakdown, Setzer's does because of the additional mind break and his commands are better.

Setzer's Burst entry is actually Attack + Mag -40% by the way. Think you're overlaying his SSB entry effect with his BSB. Granted I do have one of his SSBs but it's the Atk + Res break not the mega full break.

Granted basic point stands since Atk + Mag break is harder to come by than full break.

Still curious on the characters, though. Faris kinda seems stronger overall but Setzer seems like he might be able to get more break combos than she can which might matter-- thing is I'm not sure how viable it would be to hit all his combos before they start wearing off. Assuming you have all their stuff (dumb assumption I know) is it worth considering Setzer over Faris?

Oh I probably got mixed up on the USB which is the hyper break, the BSB is still better than Faris' through.

Faris is only really viable if you have USBs these days, even then they're not that great. Setzer's the better character at the moment, unless you really need a dancer. His Legend Materia 2 is probably better as well if you ever get enough motes for it.

Well I suppose Faris's better skill coverage doesn't matter much considering how good Support 5 is anyway huh. I mean Full Break + Wrath seems like a pretty awesome skill setup either way.

If you RW it you get quick cast to front row members and it keeps giving quick cast if the user uses knight abilities. Setzer will be able to combo breaks like crazy if you use it.

Crystal tower draw was awful. Two old SSBs that I already had (and never use). Oh well.

FF6 ultimates were fairly easy. I actually did too much damage too quickly to Umaro, so the second ultimate snowstorm stopped everyone, with only Larsa coming out of it quickly.

Goddess was easy once I got stuff setup. Cloud USB + being legend dived + omega drive, isn't even fair. He was doing about 52k in total with it, and the double hit procced twice. That's over 200k damage right there. Bypassed one of her two lullabies. Just gotta do the jump start, then set up a party for Air Force quickly. Then to torments, then to magicites.

They are a significant increase to a character's power level.

However, that increase only really seems to be necessary if you're trying for Sub 30 magicites. I mastered all currently available magicites before legend diving anyone (except Tyro whom I didn't even use there).
Our weekly events are not hard enough to require 5* motes.

Hell, after lots of retries, and re-arranging accessories, Magicites, and RM, I managed to down Hydra in 29:30 with a party with no 5* mote investments. It was ridiculously close, and the next 10 could very easily all end in failure, but I succeeded.

You arent going to sub 30 magicites without it, and you are going to need the really OP relics to beat the top tier content without them

Got two more Enkidu magicites from Fenrir today! I finally beat him under 1:00 too since I switched to physical, but I have to rely on Bartz to doublestrike a few Snowspell strikes to do that.

I'll probably focus on farming major orbs from the FFXI D300 torment for now through, I need to restock major wind orbs since I honed the wind Ninja magic for Golem.

I got Misty in 25 seconds on the first attempt.
Shadow USB is bonkers against a dark-weak boss who doesn't use any physical attacks.

I think I'll farm some Holy magicites before I even attempt Shadow Dragon. That guy scares me.

With the release of dark and holy magicites, I went back to them once again. Visited my old pal Sealion, the only one whom I had beaten before. Bartz is now fully dived, though the first run I took at Sealion never procced a double. Second time, it double procced a few times, and I had honed Blazing Twinstrike to R3 earlier, so it was quite a damage dealer. Managed to improve my time on Sealion to 35.18 seconds.

Went back to Golem to give him another shot too, with my newly legend dived Fujin. Mastered him in 51.90 seconds.

Fujin w/BSB (99): R2 Raging Storm, R1 Stitch in Time (Scholar's Boon)
Alph w/BSB+USB (99): R3 Tiamat, R2 Meltdown (World Traveler)
Onion Knight w/BSB (99): Entrust Battery (DMT)
Mog w/BSB (83): R4 Curaja, R2 Protectga (MM)
Rosa w/USB (81): R4 Wrath, R2 Shellga (Knight's Charge)

Only used entrust once with OK, the other two bars were him using his own BSB. Only used stitch in time on Fujin's first turn, forgot about it afterwards. Mog's burst is awesome here, providing another layer of mag buff, as well as instant healing whenever needed as Rosa built up her bars. Fujin had 2 wind boosting equipment, Alph had 1. May take another few runs at him, either ditching stitch in time for gust, or just making sure I use it more. Also, debating flipping some RMs around.

Edit: Also, now with 2 magicites done, gotta decide which one to focus on next. I'm thinking Bismarck, as I have TGC's OSB, Shantotto's CSB and BSB, Lightning's BSB2, Rafa's BSB, and likely one or two more I'm forgetting.

Okay so my current epic plan for this game is to just use people who I have 6 star stuff for and try to get them up.

This would be:

Tidus (Already 99, got his ball of doom and I have noticed he does a lot of damage)
Steiner (no but Bartz' 6 star apoc sword is good enough and I love steiner, and of course he is 99)
Cid (65 but I just got a lode 2, gonna use that on him I think, some sort of glove)
Beatrix (5 star, she's level 80 and might be a weak link on my team even though I love Beatrix and just got the selected 5 star from the draw)
Zidane (Holding onto Setzer's 6 star for now, trying to figure out when I might want to switch to Setzer if at all)

I don't really know all the terms really well but it appears debuffing bosses, get this, "helps." Next thing I think I am going to do is trade Zidane or Beatrix for a healer because I hear those are useful as well.

Thats an all-physical DPS team. You dont want that. You want to at least have a support and a healer. Having a Black Mage would be good too.

Also, it depends what 6* relics you have. OSBs wont carry you as well as BSBs in many fights.

Setzer with his 6* would help a lot. You should add him to your party.
And yeah, you kinda need a dedicated healer. Beatrix can use Protectga or Shellga just fine, but her heals are not good enough.

From what I have seen on reddit Cid Raines' is a real winner to the point of abuse so yeah.

So Steiner/Tidus are not being replaced because love those guys, and Cid Raines seems really good.

So what are some options for Beatrix/Zidane replacements? Should I dig through my 5* weapons with unique stuff? I think I drew some Yuna stuff awhile back.

Also the major problem this very moment is a lack of crystal nodes for the most part, got to find some more 2s and 3s (3s I take it are really rare)

Raines' BSB is what makes him so good (metamorphosis claw) Oversoul is the OSB which is okay but it doesn't make him godly like his BSB.

Personally I think a balanced team in this game is two DPS, support, sage/paladin and white mage with instant/stoneskin medica. You want two characters for protectga/shellga (or use Rikku's USB as a RW) so having another 4* white magic user helps a lot if you're against mixed offense bosses and can also do some damage or breaks when you feel comfortable that they don't need to heal (like while stoneskin is up)

Oh, you meant Cid Raines. Jeez, I thought it was like Cid Highwind from your earlier post. Though, I guess you I should have realized when you mentioned glove.

Anyways, Bartz Excalibur is actually a base 5* and a pretty outdated one too, so you must've gotten a dupe and upgraded it to 5*+ at some point.

Tyro USB from the 30th Anniversary Dungeon is decent if you're lacking in buff soul breaks, and more importantly it gives you Hastega.

I think in your case a party of:

Tidus
Steiner (Do you even have anything for him?)
Setzer
Cid Raines
Tyro

Should suffice. You can just make Tyro your healer until you get better stuff.

If you're talking about Record Dives, you really don't need to worry much about that until you get to the higher end content.

Drop Raines for Beatrix, and make sure to hone Gaia/Divine cross so she can soak up damage to protect the party (granted most bosses are NAT happy these days, still when it helps it helps.) Raines without magic boosts isn't worth bringing in a primarily physical team.

You'll get so many MC2s you'll start junking them for growth eggs if you just keep playing MC3s are usually the reward for beating the Ultimate difficulty boss in weekly events, sometimes they hand them out in logins or mini events but they aren't too hard to get.

I mastered the Dissidia Ultimates, pretty easy bunch. I got to take my new Sephiroth BSB2 to town on these guys.

Cloud and Terra did low damage and they don't have much HP either, Cloud died to just using lifesiphons and Cloud USB RW on him from Seph and Garland. Then they used their burst entries on Terra and wiped her out.

Zidane and Bartz were kinda annoying but not too bad. Good news is that you only need one character for the Cid Mission, bad news it's Garland who sucks hard if you don't have his Chain (he's just Dark Cecil with Knight 3, would have helped a lot if he had Knight 5 and could use Gaia/Divine Cross) Same Ramza/Cloud USB strat on these guys to kill them quick, you have to be wary of their status effects through, and it's better to kill Zidane first so he doesn't confuse or slow your party members. Bartz can use gravity attacks and buff himself but it wasn't enough to prevent a quick death from Seph's 5 hit command 1.

Squall is certainly a unique fight, he's immune to breaks and all of his attacks are piercing (except his normal attack) so defense buffs are useless here. It's all about raw DPS and healing. Went with Seph, Bartz, Ramza, Prishe and Relm. Spent the first few turns building meter and when I got enough for Chant Bartz destroyed Squall with Snowspell strikes, like 60000 x 2 + an eight hit barrage. Even though Squall has 680k HP Bartz tore through him like wet tissue. I didn't even get to see Ultima.
