Overall that was kinda decent. Sabin and Setzer are both characters I like a lot (in fact considering the OSBs out there I think Sabin might have been the best one to get right now) and Kefka and Serah are characters I don't mind using. No dupes. So yeah. Not bad I guess. Best draw from this fest yet.

The OSB is a dupe that I just got on the 6* LD so that sucks horribly. At least the Celes BSB2 is a relic I kinda wanted, so I guess that's nice. Since I have her SSB, it's not a huge upgrade, but it is an upgrade.

5/30: two copies of Irvine's blind/slow SSB, one Raijin Staff BSB, one Gilgamesh Naginata OSB (duplicate), and one Warrior of Light OSB. A solid pull, and Raijin BSB in particular is something that I wanted just for the sake of the concept.

Immediately afterward I did a foolish 11-pull on Banner 1, hoping to snag a WoL EnHoly to go with my new Holy OSB, but instead DeNA bestowed upon me Ingus BSB and Emperor BSB. Well, better earth and wind coverage, can't complain. Couple that with the lucky draws gracing me with a net 7/33 (and no dupes) and I am feeling pretty good about the last few days. Now, to see if I can bring my hoarding instincts back into prominence before this fest drains me dry...

btw, something funny i forgot to mention before. i finally got my third fucking crystal helm. you know, that FFVI 4* item that everyone had a ++ of two years ago. maybe someday i will get SG too, then i'll really be on the power curve.

Hahah nah that's not him, though I told him that he should've screenshot it and posted it! Ahh well. He said he had rotten luck on the 3 lucky draws too (not sure what specifically he got). The 2 OSBs I got weren't great, but they were definitely better than Tyro's (and not dupes either).

Not sure about where I want to pull in this fest. 100 gemmed Firion's USB from this banner, and nothing else is a real need here. Will likely skip it.

I would rather have gotten tyro osb/30 than dupe/30 for the stat boost at least.

Sure the osb sucks, but I’m sure we can come up with an OSB that would actually be worse to get.

Ultimates mastered. This was a pretty tough bunch, which is good since Ultimates have been pretty easy recently, especially that joke of a set in the last Tactics event.

The Imperial Soldier squad still hits surprisingly hard for ultimate gauntlet, granted they also die quickly now thanks to powercreep'd relics like Mog/Raines/Rapha BSB and my new Desch BSB. Just gotta watch out for silence and you can AOE these guys quick.

I Cid Mission'd Umaro with Terra, Strago, Setzer, Mog and Relm. Even though I don't have any relics for Strago and Setzer (went with Strago over Kefka since he has higher mind) Umaro is pretty easy for the most part, except for Ultimate Snowstorm which can stop (hence why the high mind is important) and when he uses Green Cherry because even after breaks he still does 4000~ damage with stuff like Jump and Snowball. I probably could have an easier time if my FFVI mage DPS was better than Terra's BSB command one and Meltdown but I still got the job done.

Goddess is a really tricky fight, all of her spells are peircing so wall/shellga ect are useless, breaks and lightning resists are most important for mitigation (protectga is still good though even if she doesn't attack physically very often) She also has permanent haste and shell which can't be removed so it's better to go physical. She also casts doom around 75% of her life bar that starts at 30 so you need good DPS to take her out quick or stall and build meter in the first phase, and she resists all elements too. Probably the most dangerous thing is her Lullaby when she uses it around 50% and getting sleep'd can fuck you over on the doom counter.

My team was Vaan, Prishe, Ramza, Larsa and Relm. Vaan did the magic dulling and DPS with Cloud RW/BSB, Prishe stalled for her super and when Larsa got enough meter to use his BSB too give my party astra Prishe used Cloud RW and her BSB. This was a fun fight outside of sleep and we need more Ultimates like this.

Mog's BSB is amazing, he's a staple of my mage team and really useful to have in magicites, as well for Omega for his mind boost so you can stop him for a little longer. His command 1 is instant so you can just spam it to refresh your hastaga for longer battles as well.

Problem is that he still doesn't have record spheres in global!

So, is there a secret to these Magicite fights? I got pretty frustrated the first time I fought it because my team of 99s were barely putting in dents. IS it to just focus on the elemental difference and hammer them?

Depends on the boss and your relics, mostly buffs like shout + EX modes or stacking faithagas as well as infusions and imperials. Also Ninja magic helps A LOT since it ignores their stupid high resistance.

Nope. I kinda wanna hold off on those anyway since they're getting significantly higher orb rewards in an update that isn't super far out-- especially with festival going on. I'm looking to get 3-4 11x draws so the odds aren't completely abysmal of getting Rikku's USB.

I might do a bit more of the beginner's dungeons than I have though if I'm close to the boundary of another 11x when the time comes.

Orbfest kinda sucks now since once you can beat D300 torments and get 3 majors for 60 stamina, the orbs dropped from enemies blows in comparison. The reason I'm even bothering is because of chips and soul break mastering (BTW thanks Dena for making Gold Knights not only annoyingly rare but have them drop RNG orbs instead of chips as well >:/ )

I still would do Realm dungeons if I were you, you get stamina shards that refresh you stamina anyway and get a higher max, so you can still do orb fest.

Got 1/11 on the choice banner. Agrias's old super, bleh, I guess it's 10 attack... for a character I never use outside of Cid Missions. I was gonna pick Lion's BSB but I chose Maria's instead since it should help a lot against Hydra and it has no foreseeable return (it's not in the next FF2 banner and FF2 events are rare)

The big issue I have with the gem draw is the bonus isn't permanent. No matter what relic I choose it will be pretty much obsolete in 6 months, and permanent obsolete in a year.

If they had given a bonus that was truly permanent... say a rental morphing item that copied an item in current banner without granting learned soul breaks then I would be tempted.

But 30 bucks for a burst? Nah.

There's still some bursts on that list that are still viable in the Japan metagame IE Raines, Vaan, Lion, Rapha, Lunneth, Fujin, Firion, Papalymo, Bartz BSB2.

i've stopped spending mythril except on BSB+ lucky draws, and even those are questionable to bother with when i don't do torments/magicite and usually don't even do apocalypse except sometimes in multiplayer. at this point i just want to make sure i can get Lionheart and stuff like that when it comes out.

One thing we global guys have is clairvoyance through, we can check out topics on the Japanese meta game and save up for the banners with the most long lasting relics and whale for those. It's gonna be a long time before stuff like Cloud and Bartz USBs become obsolete and even some bursts like Raines and Squall BSB2 are still major DPS.

Heck Raines BSB somehow gets better with time since he got a dualcast legend materia and Garland's chain makes his DPS so strong even holy/dark resistant bosses get torn to shreds. All he needs is a magical equivalent of Cloud's USB or a chase USB.

yeah, Cloud USB is the only thing i'm really considering going for because of the longevity and i at least like Cloud. though i have Squall totally decked out and spent all my motes on him already so idk if that would even be very helpful.

I'm so torn on this banner. The top relics are amazing, but there's so much on it, that I really don't need. I count 6 relics that are either dupes, or "not even CM" material.
