That depends on how far you plan to go on difficulty scale, weekly events? Torment dungeons? Magicite?

The current 30th anniversary "PS1" banner is probably a good choice to pull on due to top tier relics and the realms having common synergy.

Also the gold Knights still drop orbs :(

I say just pull for any character you like that has a USB or BSB on a banner.

I'm so happy right now.

Ashe BSB isn't the top tier lightning BSB it once was, but it's still fine. Not to mention the Lightning+ armor.
I may not like Vaan, but the BSB is so powerful, that I'm glad to finally have it.
Auron BSB is nothing special.
Tiny Bee is 10 more mind for my favorite character.
Shantotto USB may be pretty crappy, but I've wanted a versatile 6* mage stick (Hope's thrown doesn't count) for so long now.
Tidus USB is supposedly the best new relic in the entire fest.

You'll need Memory Crystal IIs to break the 65 level cap. You can get mostly character-specific ones from the events, though I think most may include a generic as one of the rewards? Anyway the generic ones you'll need to go into The Annex, right under the Cid's Missions on the home page. The Hall of Rites will let you trade in generic memory crystals for whichever character you want to break level cap on.

Up to 44 Mythril. God bless the FFT realm having early game stamina requirements and being released after my break from the game. Should hit 50 one last time.

With it, we'll see whether we see an actual live instance of Record Keeper losing $85.99(++) cause of their ass gacha or not, cause if I get Rikku's claws I get a Leviathan, do the gem exclusive draw and save the remainder for 100 gem draws. And if I don't, I quit the game again, probably for good this time, since getting dicked over this hard by the gacha since returning is doing a good idea of reminding me why I quit in the first place.

I have. A few times. I played this game before the guaranteed 5* so I mean...

But that's precisely why I have no patience for the shitty gacha in this game on my return tour. I should have more to show for 300 mythril and a free 30 draw than a dated SSB for a character I like, and an OSB for a character I like but wasn't drawing for cause he doesn't really fit into my team compositions, and some armor with good STATZ.

It's not that I know it can't get worse. It's that I don't feel like putting the effort in to continue to play this game like some sorta battered woman syndrome victim hoping things will get better with future pulls I grind out, nor do I feel this game is worth hundreds of bucks to enjoy.

If you're not having any luck with this banner you should save that 50 mythril for the next FFX banner. It doesn't have Rikku's USB bit it does have her BSB and more importantly Tidus' USB/Chain/BSB2/Legend Materia.

Rikku's USB is amazing though considering my needs. Those other relics frankly seem like luxury items in comparison.

You can always RW it through, and Tidus' USB makes him one of the best DPS in the game so it's more than luxury. Apparently people beat water resistant magicites under 30 seconds with it which shows how bonkers it is.

I forgot it's actually Tidus with his BSB2 and USB that make him arguably the best DPS in the game, through just with USB and Sapphire Shot he's still really good, just not Magicite owning good (unless it's the fire ones.)

Still probably less chance of a dupe on the FFX banner as well.

Basically my problem with high level content in this game is

I don't have a decent hastega
I don't have a decent party attack buff

So then the solution becomes well RW Shout or whatever

But then if I do that I have no Sentinel, which requires running Tyro. But every time I run Tyro part of me dies.

Basically I need that Ultra to enjoy this game but I'm not paying hundreds for it. I won't.

Didn't you get Tyro's USB2 from the 30th anniversary dungeons? It's a hastaga and attack/def/resistance/magic boost (granted small) but it stacks with almost everything.

Also you can try using hailstorm on 5* Samurai users which can give an attack boost comparable to a moderate amounts like Rikku/Onion Knight BSB.

Even if you don't like Tyro he is your party booster for the moment, you should at least use him to get orbs, accessories and motes (especially motes) in the current event then whale for Ramza's BSB2 or Onion Knight's USB/BSBs in the near future and replace him.

Yeah I have the stamina to get the last 6 mythril just gotta play.

And my whole point is I don't want to tread water with Tyro and would rather just quit (again) than bother. So I will likely be doing that shortly unless the trash gacha shows some mercy.

I was not chasing one item

I was chasing a lot of items (two on this banner, even!) and have had pretty consistently terrible luck with this game-- the only time I ever had good luck was with Tidus's OSB.

This is sort of just the straw that broke the camel's back here.

There's always that white whale in this game that never seems to drop for people, personally for me it's Orlandeau's OSB and Cloud's BSB2.

That said you got Ayame's BSB which is actually really good, and she can use Hailstorm so you do have a fighting chance at high level content (or at least weekly events) with her. Edit- She doesn't even need hailstorm, she gets a 30% attack boost on entry and can get another 30% on her command 2.

It would've helped a lot, man. I'm actually pretty good on ability hones, equipment, etc etc.

I mean just caving an using Tyro would solve a lot

But the game is not fun with Tyro. Needing to use him to clear everything is what made me take a 1 year break. I'm the kinda guy where if it's not viable to clear all content while using units you like, it's just not worth playing the game. And for a long time, it was viable to do that-- eventually the game powercrept too much and you're left with 3 options

1. Use whatever units the game deigns to give you items for, regardless of whether you like them.
2. Whale
3. Skip the high level content.

I'm sorta at this weird spot where I can effortlessly clear 160 and lower content, and the 180+ content is too difficult without making concessions. So 3 doesn't really have much point-- just a mindless grind game-- I can play Brave Exvius if I wanna do that.

2 I'm just against on principle at this point-- like I said I would've been happy to throw $85 at the game if I got Tidus or Rikku's USB. I did the probabilities and the odds favored me getting at least one of the two.

And yeah, 1 just isn't fun to me.

Easier to just bail. There are plenty of good games out there that I don't really need to waste my time with this one.

Meanwhile, I have like, without exaggeration:

30+ miscellaneous FF2 relics
10+ Yuna Relics (6 Full Metal Rods, 3 Tiny Bees, The Sending, at minimum)

5+ Paine Relics
Pretty much Tyro soul break aside from his overflow and despite intentionally avoiding every banner with him on it (all "lucky" draws)

It's just like, enough is enough, man.

Part of me wants to reroll till I get a good Setzer roll on the FFVI banner and just start the game over. With the amount of power creep in all the game's rewards it might be worth it.

Did you use the gem choice draw yet? Setzer's BSB is on there which is a hyper break (+mind) it stacks with full break which is the main alternative to Wall.

I also looked up Curilla's BSB, it has a 30% attack boost and 50% defense boost to the party on entry, you got a decent attack buff now as well.

Ehhhh.

Ayame has a cool design so I'll allow it but using some mook from FFXI isn't much better than just using Tyro.
