I actually managed the 3-man CM Golbez with my fairly crappy IV relics.

Pecil - BSB

I finally created Curada, because if Tyro is going to be my only healer, he definitely needed the best possible healing ability. Enkidu and the USB worked as Medicas, and thanks to Tyro's Legend Materia, Wall lasted long enough to finish Golbez off.

I've been playing this a bit recently cause a friend of mine started it and was playing a lot and he was asking me advice on the Lugae fight. So I decided to play the current event and do it.

There's a LOT of high end content now -- at least I can still do up to the 160 level content so it doesn't feel I've lost ground at leastbut yeah. It's neat.

Though I'm still on the fence on really bothering to get back into it again -- is it a must to Sentinel/Stoneskin for high level content or what. That's probably the biggest reason I stopped. Feels like in theory it'd be even more necessary but maybe the key is to get your base defensive stats up I dunno.

This event's ultimates are supposedly piss easy so you can probably take them. Stuff like Magicite and torments are more of what the power creep is focusing on. *5 motes and Legend Materia are also really helpful to have these days for higher end stuff.

And yeah Wall is really essential these days, especially for Magicite due to the bosses being 80% resistant to breaks (through you only can use Wall as a RW in Magicite before you unlock the other soul break so you don't have to worry about bringing Tyro to them) Having good medicas soul breaks also helps a lot, there's a lucky draw on the 30 anniversary soon that guarantees a *5 white magic user Burst or USB.

180 difficulty cacalbrinas kinda kicked my ass. I did everything before that (including the 160 Milon raid)

Unfortunate to hear about Sentinel though. I was hoping the Meta had found a way to shift away from that. I actually have it and Tyro but I don't like using Tyro. Wouldn't mind Ysh but I didn't get Stoneskin II.

Though I guess if some characters I use have a suitable replacement for Shout I could just RW Sentinel.

Ramza's getting a new Burst that is Shout + with commands in the FFTA banner, might wait for that event and whale for it (and it's a godly banner in general)

Also are you using Rikku's USB (Hyper Mighty G) as a RW? It's protecta+shellga+hastaga+Magic&attack + 30%. Covers both defense and offense buffs.

Ultimates mastered, these were the easiest ultimates, even including the ultimates before Apocalypse difficulty was added. I have no idea why Dena decided to make these guys so weak in an era of Magicite, Legend Materia/diving and Cloud/Bartz USB. Like even for a new realm these would be pathetically easy. I think spent more time getting realm synergy equipped than fighting these guys.

Mook Gauntlent was lol- Summons + Ranies command 2, 'nuff said. Only hard part was hoping Raines didn't doublecast before Tyro could Multi-Break the mook you need to debuff for medals.

For some reason Meliadoul has less HP than the ++ fight earlier. This fight was over in a blink, Ramza used Shout, Orlandeau used Cloud USB RW and Omega Drive, the end.

Zalmour also only had 250,000 HP and low stats. Cloud USB RW on Bartz and Vaan, Snowspell strike and Theif's Revenge, old man down. How is this guy in the same difficulty as Proud Clad, Aeon Gauntlet and Asura+Leviathan?

That was the easiest jump start battle of all time.

Didn't bother even switching out of mako might etc. and still beat it with only 2 party members using more than 1 SB gauge.

Could have quadrupled his HP and it still would have been no sweat

Actually, native Sentinel Grimoire is becoming less useful than it once was. The high end content (magicites) forces you to take a Sentinel Grimoire roaming warrior.
I have almost everything for Tyro, but I don't use him in magicite dungeons.

As for the high difficulty event stuff, debuff stacking is arguably even more powerful than native Sentinel Grimoire, so you're not forced to use it.

Well that is more to my style. I usually would try to get by by stacking debuffs in the past. I was the guy who would run Mog for the Attack/Mag -50%, + Power/Magic Breakdown, + Full Break and manage to clear content without sentinel.

I also looked into it and apparently Minwu's Ultra Soul Break gives Sentinel + healing/etc? That would be pretty rad to get. Time to start hoarding up mythril-- wish I hadn't spent all of it before I stopped. Could have like 250 instead of 50 right now.

Oh wait it doesn't actually give the Sentinel buff

It gives Stoneskin: 30%. I assumed "gives Stoneskin" meant shorthand for Stoneskin II but that was not the case.

Stoneskin is the energy bubbles you see Y'shtola/Ramza/Relm give to the party when they use their soul breaks. It absorbs damage up to 30% of that character's HP. It's super useful to have too especially against nuke happy bosses.

Sentinel is something else, I know Golbez has it on his burst but I'm not sure what it does. Apparently it makes him a mage tank through.

Edit- Apparently Sentinel is "draw fire" that attracts both physical and magical attacks.

People call usually call Sentinel Grimore/Stoneskin II "Wall" (even through there's also a soul break called Wall but it's so dated no one uses it anymore.)

Had been avoiding that one because of my lack of good lightning relics. Then I realized TGCs OSB was lightning element and tried it.

Kinda disappointed the guaranteed is specifically an OSB and not necessarily a USB, as most of the relics that interest me right now are USBs (I did get lucky enough to get Tidus's OSB-- and I got Vivi's as well in one of those lucky draws I did during my Hiatus)

They gems only banner gives you a burst of your choice from a huge list (and there's really good stuff like Raines/Vaan/Lion BSB)

Also on OSB but no USBs, it's probably because OSBs in general are showing their age, especially with Cloud USB around. I think the last time I used an OSB was Lunneth's against Garuda, and that was for medal conditions. People are also getting ready to whale at a second chance at Cloud/Bartz/Relm USBs which Dena knows where the money is. OSB relics are mostly just stat sticks with a few exceptions, and outside of Orlandeau and Noctis OSBs aren't really Chase worthy.

Assuming I really like all of Rikku, Yuffie, Dark Knight Cecil, Setzer, Faris, Minwu, Seymour, X-Death, which of these are best pursued at a glance.

Man I'd draw multiple times on this if I could. ... can I?

I'm actually considering Tidus's BSB because I have his OSB. Enwater is nothing to shrug off, plus having the burst commands means that you can conserve on your abilities.

Have you tried the Jump Start battles? The FFT one right now is a good one to try it out since it's so easy. You wouldn't even need to go through the FFT event, it's available right from the event screen.

I planned on trying it once, or multiple times assuming I wasn't crushed on my first attempt. I'm skeptical I can beat it as my soul breaks are kinda dated so having em all maxed is less of a big deal, but will definitely try it. I am mostly through the FFT event too though so I was going to do it after getting through the FFT event (I would be all the way through it but all these dailies have first time/mastery rewards to get)

Tidus' BSB is super dated at this point, don't even bother. The next FFX event has a godly Banner for Tidus, his USB, Chain, BSB2 and Legend Materia are all on the same banner (along with Rikku's burst) I'd save up for that instead.

Personally I'll probably pick Lion's burst, that way I can fully focus Vaan on DPS with his USB. This banner is also one time use so it's best to think about what will be useful in the long run.

I'm looking at 4 and 5.

Will these be the banners where I finally get Vaan BSB, Lightning USB, or Raines BSB? I've spent more than 250 mythril on banners featuring each of those, though there was some overlap with Claire and Raines. Then there's some more stuff I really want, like Tidus or Rikku USBs, Ayame BSB, Papalymo BSB, both Alph relics and more.

Probably just going to be disappointed again, but I'll be damned if I don't give it a try.

Raines' BSB still kicks major ass, it's just his lack of non elemental commands with a lot of recent bosses being Omni resistant is what's holding him back. Even if they resist he still does good DPS if you legend dive him to get his dual cast materia since he'll be quickcasting his command 1. His faithaga and defense boost is also still useful for being a rare Id that stacks with everything. I still bring him to magicite when using mage teams.

Onion Knight's BSB is showing it's age through, the commands are weak so most people prefer just using Rikku's USB for mixed parties. OK is going to get amazing USBs in the future through.

Shame torment Gi Nattak is gone, I loved having a way to farm major black orbs, ended up with 120 after he left so I can r4 hone chain thundaga and blizzaga now, still wish I could farm some more for Quake Strike.
