Sister's char from cata battle but edited it a lot

kinda smleh / vague at points might need to be changed blah blah just posting it (long)

Kym Haketora
ARSENAL: Magic Paint Brush Staff, Bow + Arrows, Fluffy, Creations / Summons, Projectiles+ other gear etc

MAGIC PAINT BRUSH STAFF
Kym can use her Magic Paint Brush Staff in a large variety of ways ranging from creating allies to help her in battle, creating new weapons, projectiles, Stairs / Bridges / Sonic style springs to help her get across obstacles / around the terrain / for strategy / attacks (or for just screwing around.) + tons of other **** (note when summoning allies / infantry she has a tendency to have them cat themed even if it doesn't make sense like putting kitty ears on a giant snake or something like that)
She can also use this weapon for melee combat if she needs to (high tier combat staff use)

Although this weapon makes Kym very versatile her painted arsenal / summons etc are weak against water (example say she whipped up a lightning style attack / weapon if said lightning bolt were to come into contact with a water shield or something it wouldn't conduct it would just sort of melt / dissipate / dilute its effect / whatever. However if it were to make contact on the enemy without water involved it would have the same effect as what she was using

The water disadvantage works to varying degrees depending on the amount of time Kym has spend making said summon. If she were to just swat out some paint ball / glob summons with a horizontal sweep those "grunts" / tiny enemies would be one shotted by a smallish stream of water / small amount of water (like rainfall would make them melt / deform a lot

If her summons are more detailed (take more time to summon) her "elite" summons can take some water based attacks and not melt / dissipate / whatever (at least right away) they would probably become a lot weaker though / less accurate etc
If her summons are extremely detailed (longer time to summon) her "boss" summons are a lot more resistant to water (will take damage but keep on chugging)
infantry wise I would say she can have a lot of grunts an average amount of elites and like one or two boss summons at a time (dunno need opinions )

Also note her summons aren't just weak to water. Think of it like if she summoned an ice golem or something that would also be weak to fire blah blah etc etc. It's just all her summons share a weakness to water

She can counter the weakness to water with one of her special summons she based on Fluffy (Her Mystic Dragon paint summon which is one of her main "Boss" summons / creations which is resistant to all magic based attacks so magic based water attack will do a lot less damage to it.

Kym can be disarmed of this staff which is why she prefers to stay with range attacks and summon shenanigans / other weapons (she just knows staff combat style just in case) the staff can't be broken and only she can unsummon painted stuff (her losing the staff won't make it so the adds will go away / not listen to her it just means she can't do anymore paint shenanigans.

Note other people can sort of use the staff but it's a lot less effective for them.
Another Note: Not all drawings are identical (so say she wanted to have a crow or kitty scout the terrain or something and she based it on something she saw if you put them next to each other they would look alike but not exactly) So if she made a paint version of herself as one of her elite summons it will look like her but not exactly (you could tell them apart if you look close enough)

Another Note: She can paint summon another paint brush summon for her paint versions of herself however their effects are more limited and weaker (Kym loves messing with people like that)

CROSSBOW
Kym is an excellent marksmen. Kym is usually equipped with a regular set of arrows however if she were to run out / her crossbow were to be broken she could just "paint up" some more / another crossbow (although this would leave it at that sort of disadvantage against water. Her crossbow can also be used to fire stuff compatible to what she makes with her paint brush (like an arrow with a cartoonish boxing glove at the end or maybe tiny tiny infantry / paint balls / whatever)

Note Kim can use other ranged weapons but she is not as good with them as a bow (like she would be ok with a gun if she found one)

Can also use her boss to get around (when she is not using paint brush) / do other stuff (like shoot arrow with rope and climb / swing yknow stuff / grappling hook etc stuff like that I guess)

She can make paint addons to her crossbow to make it more effective / powerful etc <shrug>

UNARMED COMBAT
If Kym were to lose her weapons or in a situation where her weapons become useless / whatever she is no stranger to unarmed combat. Her crazy stamina + Agility + Speed aids in this. She also tends to fight dirty when frustrated (by which I mean if she were ensnared she would probably bite the enemy or kicking them in the nuts etc) Oh yeah she can scratch them as well

FLUFFY
Kym has a pendant bound to her which contains a dragon with a really ****ing long name (she came across it while adventuring and now they are kind of stuck with each other). Much to his dismay Kym has taken to calling him Fluffy for some stupid reason. Anyway "Fluffy" has a dark demeanor at times in contrast to Kym's happy go lucky attitude (they comically have little fights / conversations in and out of combat but they get along / have developed a bond over the time they've spent together). Fluffy is a great strategist and aids Kym at times by creating plans / methods of attack / pointing out enemy weaknesses etc (can also get a sense of an enemy's actual power
)
Fluffy also has a sort of meat shield / Persona "I'll save you!" one time per battle tank. When Kym is most likely gonna get KOd by some super kamehameha deal or whatever and she isn't going to dodge it Fluffy will tank the blast (in a sort of pendant will glow like a freaking star and a giant astral dragon will pop out and tank them blast / shield / meatshield. This will leave Fluffy extremely drained though and basically done for the rest of the fight

Also as previously mentioned Kym made a "boss summon" of him for larger combat. (When she was originally brought it up it was also going to be cat themed (like a kitty dragon) but "Fluffy" basically went "WTF IS THIS!?!" now it looks like a huge freaking badass dragon (this pleases "Fluffy" as he laughs as his giant boss summon rains doom and destruction upon their enemies!)

OTHER GEAR
I dunno I guess she carries stuff around with her when her paint brush stuff doesn't work like monster hunter paint ball things to help with tracking, caltrops, flash grenade etc? Oh yeah and food lots of food yay food.

DURABILITY + OTHER TRAITS
Just put her at Taokaka tier in durability I guess. She can take a good beating but can be KOd in combat but when it comes to being shot out of a cannon and through a wall / fall off a huge cliff and smacking into trees etc + Falling large distances she will merely go "owwwww >_<" etc (or just land regularly on the falling part it depends I guess lol). Probably not describing it right ah well

Extremely agile + high stamina

Fast

Can talk to animals

Keen sense of smell

Hunting / Tracking skills

PERSONALITY
Depending on the situation Kym is usually a prankster/ friendly / likes to screw around / "play". If it's non serious fight / someone she knows / a friend / someone who seems friendly or whatever (Fluffy will possibly chime in on this) or just someone who she can obviously stomp she tends to screw around hanging from trees, looking at her enemies quizzically blah blah etc etc (think Taokaka from Blazblue). She will even randomly draw funny faces on them with her magic paint brush staff.

However if its a serious fight (or if she can tell if the enemy is a "scary guy" etc) she will be a little more serious (actually going for KOing them but she will still draw random summons / draw herself a drill sergeant hat and silently give orders to her "troops" / be a little goofy yknow stuff like that

She loves messing with people / messing people up etc (trick them into attacking wrong targets. Make them think that KOing a specific elite will cause the rest to disappear / make them think there is a bridge and when they are on it gets rid of it (as it was one of her "paint summon bridges) etc. Also loves doing this by making some of her elites look like her and mess the enemy up some more or give her main paint brush staff to one them and her holding a fake one etc (Fluffy doesn't suggest that though I guess? It depends?) or even drawing funny moustaches / symbols on them (as well as herself) messing with people even more. Usually she prefers (during a serious fight / tournament or whatever) to have a paint version of herself take to the field (still range but more at the field of battle while she is actually further away sniping / summoning more / doing other stuff)

She tends to listen to Fluffy's strategies if the situation is serious (although she adds her own twist to them at times) <shrug>

Kym may also throw random projectiles that she finds (rocks, pillows whatever the heck she finds / picks up) at her enemies

Kym can be enraged / easily frustrated (through mocking / being made fun of etc?) though. If she is enraged by an enemy who constantly makes fun of her / mocks her, hurt's Fluffy blah blah etc etc she may go berserk mode and lose focus (swinging tons of attacks / summons, not strategizing (If Fluffy is active he may hold her back / reason with her or she may ignore him). She may even go as far as get crazy RAGE strength (more damage) and abandon her usual guerilla / range tactics and just beat the holy **** out of her enemy with the staff (hitting them in the "weak spots" with it etc etc)

So yeah like a Taokaka / Epic Mickey style char for her or something with other stuff. Probably gonna be smleh / seen as one trick or whatever waiting on opinions / ways to change / nerf / buff wherever <shrug>

suuuuuureee why not

Kym neko kitty hunter girl or something

uses brush staff to summon allies (grunts elites bosses), for combat (bombs weapons traps magic style attacks etc), transportation (springs bridges etc), and tons of other stuff (all paint summoned stuff have varying degrees of weakness to water except maybe Mystic Dragon. Perhaps others but mentioned Mystic Dragon)

She can recall / get rid of any summons at any time

Has a tendency to make her summons cat themed with the exception of Giant Mystic Dragon summon and some others I guess

Having possession of her staff does not give one control over her allies however they can make very limited use of it

carries hunter stuff + food + other gear

She has tracking skills etc (however she can send a scout summon(s) to help as well) also has keen sense of smell

Fluffy = Dragon ally in a pendant. Strategizes, guages enemy power, has persona meat shield ability.

Efficient in unarmed combat (dirty fighter) staff combat, and crossbow

prefers range combat while sending her allies to help stomp enemies (also likes messing with opponents making them think she is on the field of battle with them via summon + other stuff)

can be frustrated / enraged giving her rage strength but not focus as much

High speed + stamina. Very agile

Can talk to animals

etc

Oh, yeah. Forgot about that. I think this has everything important.

Anastasia (short write-up, Final)

Despite looking like a typical adult human female, Anastasia is one of the most dangerous antagonists from her series. The immortal absolute dictator of her planet, Anastasia has assets all over the world to play with. For this contest, however, the version used is when she defeated a Superman expy to take over the world. This version is wearing a Magitek battle armor, which allows her to fly, supplies her with mana to cast her spells as well as give her constant protection, and able to fire missiles. It has a limited power supply, but can harness power from an external source if available. She is also wearing a helmet covering her entire head, with an enchantment to make people forget ever seeing her.

Anastasia is ambidextrous, with a fighting style that uses her near-peak human level agility and dexterity (strength-wise, an average adult female). She has basic knowledge on all types of weapon, though she favors ranged ones. This form is never without her guns, one is a normal gun, while the other is a magic gun with effects that can changed from dispelling to explosive to freezing. The magic gun uses mana from the bullets. She is always with a belt-pouch containing various items to cast her spells and spare clips.

Anastasia uses Temperature (Ice and Fire, favors Ice spells, earning her the title of Ice Witch) magic, and Gating magic (creating portals). Due to her circumstances, she is unable to supply mana for her spells, and requires items and equipments to do it for her. Potentially, she is able to cast any kind of magic, but those two schools are her specialization.

Her most deadly ability is her (almost) omniscient knowledge. She can displace any of her senses from the present and set it at any point in time and space. These senses can be fast-forwarded to gather information fast, and at max speed, years pass by before Anastasia's time has moved even a second. Displaced senses are immune to effects that affects senses. This powerful information gathering ability, coupled with her insane power of processing information allows her to see all possibilities and outcomes from her actions, gaining her the title of The Oracle and the All-Seeing. One of her feats had her know a year's worth of info in a split-second.

The second factor that makes her deadly is her true potential. Anastasia has restraints on her ankles and wrists. These restraints are powerful seals designed to take suppress power beyond a set level. Currently, it is set so that Anastasia cannot be more than a normal human. The restraints can tank hits from any form of attack (even reality erasing ones), but will break to an attack with an output that can destroy a planet. If even a single one of them breaks, Anastasia's power increases and eclipses those of planet busters. She will be capable of freezing and setting a planet flame with but a thought, Invincible up to planet busting attacks (which only hurt her), and the non-magical ability to end a Universe through Heat Death

In-battle, Anastasia is creative with her abilities and determined... for a reason. If the person she's fighting is useful to her plans, she will forgo killing them and attempt to recruit them, or merely incapacitate them. If an equipment is useful, she will try to steal it and use it for herself. If she has to kill to survive, she will, and no life-form will get mercy from her. She will hide first and evade all attacks and process info about her opponent until she has several sure-fire win strategies.

She is a pessimist, and due to circumstances, her performance is tied to her confidence. If things go wrong too many times, she'll likely be less able to fire stronger spells or move as fast. On the other hand, this does give her immunity to mind controls.

Well, I've got another two characters, though I'm not sure if either of them really work for something like this. I'm only going to post the first one now because the other is a bit too absurd I think >_>.

Raiakara is an elemental pact maker. Having successfully formed a contract with all six elements, he is recognized as one of the most powerful of the world guardians. As well, due to the nature of the contracts he formed, he cannot be defeated through damage alone, and harm only serves to increase his strength. Each contract gave him a single ability, which he has chosen to compliment his overall strategy.

Aegis of Gaia: The shield of mother earth. Aegis of Gaia prevents all damage from a single attack before fading away. As well, when the attack lands he is granted to bounty of the earth, restoring one of his abilities.
Ignis Incende: The healing flames of the phoenix. Ignis Incende resurrects him once upon death, restoring him to his state at the beginning of battle including used up abilities. This does not decrease any power he has gained during the battle however, it only effects that which has been lost.
Vengant Atmosphere: The breath of an angry wind god. Vengant Atmosphere triggers upon taking an attack, and increases the power of his attacks by one quarter of the force behind the attack that hit him, as well as increasing his speed by twenty-five percent every time he is hit. This drastically boosts his offensive capabilities whenever he is hit, and the stronger the attack the greater the boost.
Aqua Reverb: The fairy of the lake's mirror. Aqua Reverb is a blade of water, that by default has very little offensive power. However, every time it is used it adds it's own reflection to it's next attack. This means that every time it is used, the next attack will launch one more attack than the previous one, leading to innumerable dancing blades over time.
Umbral Erasure: The envy of a slumbering shadow. Umbral Erasure is an effect added to all attacks launched by Raiakara, which allows the attack to hurt that which is without form, and prevent recovery. Any wounds inflicted with this power are considered property of the shadows. This means that healing power cannot be used as magic or any power will not recognize that there is anything to be done. The wounded state is considered to be peak condition.
Luminatio Crescendo: The song of the archangel. Luminatio Crescendo is sung in a single word, which restores all who hear it to their maximum strength and health. No matter where one is, as long as they are in battle with the singer, they will hear it and receive it's blessing.

Raiakara's powers support eachother. Aegis restores Ignis, and Ignis restores Aegis. The two allow Vengant Atmosphere to be used without risk, which then boosts the power of Aqua Reverb. Umbral Erasure ensures that no wound that Aqua Reverb can be healed and removes the ability to escape from it through being without form, as well as removing the downside to using Luminatio Crescendo. However, keeping all six powers in check is extremely difficult to do, even for a master of the elements. When battle begins, it takes Raiakara a full fifteen seconds to get his offensive abilities ready to go, meaning he will merely stand still and let his foe do as they wish at first. As well, he needs to rebalance that power whenever he uses Aqua Reverb, leading to a five second cooldown between attacks. Luminatio Crenscendo also shares this weakness, needing ten seconds between uses, and adding two seconds to the time between Aqua Reverbs.

In battle, Raiakara seeks to use Aqua Reverb as much as possible, leading to an all out offensive with no thought to his own survival. If his power is disrupted, or someone simply leaves him badly injured without triggering Ignis Incende, he will use Luminatio Crescendo to recover. Other than that, he has no real strategy, relying on his abilities to protect him. He is extremely arrogant and overconfident, and will try to prove himself the strongest at all possible opportunities.

However, he is not as invincible as he believes. Despite his perfect resistance to damage, he has lost several times, much to his annoyance. The first loss came when someone slit his stomach open after Aegis had been expended, and stuck a suppressing amulet within him, gagging him, then killing him to trigger the resurrection. He still could not be killed, but he was imprisoned for about a year before he was rescued. The second loss came when the power of the elements was completely disrupted by a master level elementalist who used his powers to remove the power of all elemental spirits in the area. The elementalist simply lectured him and let him go however. His final loss came when his own attack was captured, and turned against him. The power of Umbral Erasure prevented his resurrection, killing him finally. Of course, we will be taking him before his death in this instance >_>.

The Ambassador

The Ambassador is a 6'0" tall man in concealing dark robes and a hood, with skintight gloves and boots; these protect his identity from even magical divining. He never speaks, and nothing about him is known except that he appears, targets a victim, kills him or her, and leaves.

The Ambassador has no superhuman powers nor items, save for his anti-divination magic clothing, but he does possess a variety of equipment. In direct combat, he favors two long knives, but he will almost never try confront an enemy directly, instead favoring stealth. He also possesses flash grenades (the effect of which does not seem to affect her), caltrops, and bola. He is also extremely fast and athletic - almost peerless.

- wiki is updated on the new characters. need to add terrains but that's minor in comparison.

- below are comments.

Arctrus:
it's mentioned that "later in the story" he's controlling weather and doing tornados. is that relevant for the character here at all?
any ideas as to what's comparable to the 'toughest material of his world' is, or do you want to keep that vague? either's fine, people can assume whatever that's supposed to mean, but wondering if you meant anything in mind.
- i'm.... not sure the idea of 'he's trying to move all atoms at random directions!' conveys exactly what you mean? Like, that can be used in a couple ways, i'd assume it's a sort of 'and now everything just breaks down' from what you said. again, can be left to interp fine (because really, nobody's gonna assume that he nukes himself or even has the force to do that to atoms).

Xander Clyde:
he seems interesting but can you explain the mark system a bit more? right now, i'm not entirely sure what the 1-2-3 tidbits are on the marks, i assume it's that, once the target is marked, he can do one of those things. some actions will in turn remove the mark (shades of Johnny in Guilty Gear and his coins). some can take advantage of the marks with repeated effects (e.g., cutting through different planes of reality).
also related to this, how does he mark a target. i don't think that's actually said anywhere.
wording quip, but mind where you have "affect" and "effect." just a small thing i noticed that came up a couple times in the writeup.

Raiakara
the only thing i have to say here is a question: what's with all the "as well" in the writeup? character seems fine otherwise, there's some higher tier stuff out there that's really worked that division into existence. if this character's from the same series as your earlier two, he.... doesn't seem that much crazier than the last, if at all.

The Ambassador
o_o;
did i just basically see a snake/sam fisher crossover with a western. like... he's human. very human. ...and i think a 'he', but you did mention 'her' at one point. am i missing something here?

(haven't read pirateking's yet because it's painful. will get to it... probably later 'today'/tomorrow.)

Marks are put up automatically as long as they meet the condition stated.

Trackers = Vision
Blood = Wounding the target
Void = Shifting from planes
Caster = Spell being cast
Thief = Vision
Home = On the location

it requires no special movements or anything. The only downside to a mark is the cooldown and that only one can be active per a person at anytime. The 3 skills below each mark are the skills that he can use when each one is active. If the skill removes a mark it's said in the description.

- Relevant. Going with his peak form, which includes weather manipulation.

- A lot harder than a diamond, I can tell you that. I'd... compare it to any other legendary metal like Orichalcum/Adamantite really. It's not completely invulnerable in any case, just really tough.

- Things break down yeah.

alright, so if i'm understanding the Marks right on him, if the person meets the criteria stated there he can choose to "Mark" them without any indication and use one of the powers. the only thing i've got left is a wording issue:
"There is a 0.5 second delay between changing marks (so a half a second time where a target is not marked)."

that can be read two ways. the way i initially did was that .5s is needed to change the mark on a target. therefore during that .5s, it's still using the same mark as before.

the other is that if you're changing marks, one will end, half a second minimum needs to pass, and then the other can be applied.

Remember the sci-fi guy I mentioned? Here he is, basically an amalgamation of all my favorite traits from every sci-fi shooterguy out there. >_>; Also, this writeup is very... terse because that was the only way to make it fit in two posts.

Van d'Entente

Main character of the FPS series Funeral Planet. Investigates dying planets using a space-age mechanical armor suit.

The suit protects from:

-extreme hot and cold
-extreme gravity and pressure
-corrosive or poisonous environments
-radiation
-electric shocks
-falls from great heights
-the vacuum of space
-and everything normal armor would protect you from, e.g. blunt force, cutting attacks, etc.

It also dispenses oxygen if necessary and provides some degree of super strength (enough to lift small boulders, etc). Enough punishment can damage or destroy it.

There are a number of weapons built into Van's suit. These fire from his right hand and can be switched between at will. Each weapon has a basic shot, charged shot, and explosive variant (some effect loaded onto a missile, bomb, or grenade):

Welding Gun:
-basic shot: effectively melee range, very powerful. Used in combat and to actually weld things.
-charge shot: flamethrower. Less powerful, more range, big spread.
-explosive variant: lobs a ball of plasma that explodes on impact. Strong enough to destroy heavily armored, state of the art security doors (think futuristic bank vaults).

Chloro Gun:
-basic shot: beam of light that causes plants to grow. Only used for puzzles.
-charge shot: blast of light that causes plants to grow from wherever it hits, entangling foes. Also causes plant-based enemies to mutate wildly until unable to move.
-explosive variant: the opposite, instantly kills all plant-life in the blast radius.
--bosses and stronger enemies take multiple hits for these effects to work.

Carbon Gun:
-basic shot: holds smaller enemies in place with a space-age, fast-hardening substance.
-charge shot: shotgun-like spread that holds even larger enemies and for longer periods of time.
-explosive variant: explodes outwards in an AoE burst.
--getting frozen is actually harmless (and in some ways protective); the explosive variant will still mess you up though (it is a missile).

Spark Gun:
-basic shot: quickest firing but pretty weak. Shots are essential arcs of lightning, aggressively homing and in-game have no travel time at all.
-charge shot: stronger and if it hits an enemy, branches out from them and hits all nearby enemies.
-explosive variant: causes a lasting dome of electricity where it hits. Van can pass through this harmlessly, enemies cannot, so it can be used to trap and repeatedly damage enemies or Van can stand inside it for defense.
--Spark Gun does more damage against mechanical foes, as you might expect.

Sound Gun:
-basic shot: burst of high frequency sound. Seems harmless but wreaks havoc on your internal organs. Moves at speed of sound.
-charge shot: focused beam, travels faster and further, even through walls and enemies.
-explosive variant: causes a lasting screech which blocks out all other sound in the vicinity; mostly a gimmick.
--This is the best gun for most of the game.

Photon Gun:
-basic shot: effectively a sniper rifle. Very long range and powerful, very fast travel time (in-game, it's hitscan).
-charge shot: quickly charging (less than a second), but does nothing by itself. Allows you to fire one basic shot. Think of it more as reloading.
-explosive variant: guided missile. Van can't really multitask while guiding it.

Antimatter Gun:
-basic shot: not actually antimatter, but strong and fast. Even destroys some stronger enemies in one hit.
-charge shot: creates a small void which draws in and destroys all enemies in the room.
-explosive variant: causes a room encompassing blast that kills all enemies. Most powerful attack in the game and the only way to harm the final boss.

Other equipment:

Flashlight:
-it is a flashlight.
-doesn't ever run out of juice, defying FPS convention.

Jetpack:
-fairly maneuverable, but only vertically.
-about 10 seconds of flight.
-has an underwater variant which is infinite.

Rocket Booties:
-when activated, instantly provides a massive boost in acceleration.
-used to outrun crumbling structures, run on water, run up walls, etc.
-can be spammed as much as you want, but sort of hard to control. Speedrunners love this item.

The AutoSolve 9000:
-provides hints about the game's puzzles.
-in the spinoff manga, Van combines it with his suit's Combat Analyzer to run simulated battles and determine the optimal strategy against his opponents. However these sims are limited to only what Van's suit already knows or can deduce about his opponents.

The AutoRepair 9000:
-constant regen to the suit at about 1 health per second in-game.
-in the manga, much better, instantly repairing even major damage.
-in the manga, it's the first function of Van's suit to malfunction in nearly all his fights.

The Aimbot 9000:
-the in-game justification for the ability to lock onto enemies.
-in the manga, Van turns it off because he doesn't need it. Because, you know. Fiction.

Vision Enhancer:
-zoom.
-thermal vision.
-limited x-ray vision (mostly a gimmick).
-camera.

Force Generator:
-when activated, creates a dome of "hard light" around Van, repelling enemies and their projectiles but allowing Van to shoot out of it freely.
-stronger enemies and attacks can shatter it, as can repeated weaker attacks.
-very large foes (i.e. certain bosses) can just smash it outright.
-takes about a minute to recharge after being broken.

Stationary Camouflage:
-when standing still, Van becomes effectively invisible.
-if he moves or shoots, the effect ends.
-some enemies and most bosses can still find him through other means.

Scout Drone:
-a piece of the suit that breaks off and can be remotely controlled.
-capable of flight.
-Van sees everything it sees.
-can be transformed into a turret that automatically fires on hostiles.
-mostly used to scout and provide covering fire, though its attacks aren't very strong. (They're still bullets, though, so draw your own conclusions.)

Personality:
-Van is a joker who loves to crack wise during battle.
-he doesn't like killing people, but will if he has to.
-because of his line of work, he knows that looks can be deceiving and anyone can be dangerous.
-he's also seen pretty much everything, from dragons to elder gods, necromancers to androids. In other words, it's hard to surprise him.

In the manga:
-all of his parameters are generally improved.
-all of his weapons are stronger and kill things, even bosses, in a few hits at most. (This is technically possible in the games too, though, if speedruns are anything to go by.) This makes the Antimatter Gun seem weaker by comparison.
-he's also a master of hand-to-hand combat, with an emphasis on holds, locks, and throws.

alright, so if i'm understanding the Marks right on him, if the person meets the criteria stated there he can choose to "Mark" them without any indication and use one of the powers. the only thing i've got left is a wording issue:
"There is a 0.5 second delay between changing marks (so a half a second time where a target is not marked)."

that can be read two ways. the way i initially did was that .5s is needed to change the mark on a target. therefore during that .5s, it's still using the same mark as before.

the other is that if you're changing marks, one will end, half a second minimum needs to pass, and then the other can be applied.

It's the second one. To be clear he can "cast" the next mark but it will not take effect for half a second.

submissions over... yeah, 'k. unless there's any objections:

the last day to submit a new character will be July 1, 11:59PM (Pacific).

that's 2 sundays from now, over a week, so if you're making new characters that's plenty of time still.
final versions of characters should be done soon after. probably another week or two, depending on entries.

is that including Kenri or not.
i mean the final total is WHO KNOWS but yeah, around 25-30 user-made characters is pretty solid. the hard part will be figuring out, once they're put together, the 'right' way for them to compete without things taking forever.

Gonna go on a limb and say that this phase probably went on for too long.

Thankfully, after edits and things are done, it'll be an actual contest instead of a create a character topic.

Probably.

No predictions on champ materials yet? Personally, I'm seeing Eveny (original) as grand champion, and heck, her Revised version is still borked, since it only had minor changes that only leaves her open to... two or three contestants.

not everyone on the wiki actually will make it in as fitting in matters, again. i mean revised is still a one trick pony, but hey, if there's enough to fit her in despite that, it could work.

that's because it was kinda impossible to tell since we don't know who'll be in. i mean this was also a problem with antithesis, but stuff like that or even yours in Arctrus can allow for some of the stranger ones to work out (Arctrus vs. Eveny doesn't actually sound entirely boring for example due to the sheer size of those weapons and how it *has* to block out line of sight). if it was a straight tourney then yeah, it'd be a lot more problematic all around, but with a league system i could shove some more problematic ones into a division to sort themselves and do the same for others depending on power, so there's more leeway... assuming a division can be made. what makes it as well as what kind of contest gets made is another question entirely.

that's also why i can't really answer anything regarding potential 'favorites' to win or not. some may end up being instances of 'you actually just don't fit anywhere', some may end up as incomplete creations (Krylite being the biggest offender of this right now), and... just personally i'd feel the 'winner' is the one who made the most interesting matches.

(also you forgot snoop to go with 'painful' - who is just plain offensive to read - and Eveny, who defines one trick pony but strangely, there are characters to go *against* that so it could be self-regulated.)

After looking through my writeups, I'll go ahead and say Syl is finalized. With Air's, I noticed an important thing i forgot to mention and a few things that probably should've been clarified/quantified/better described. Here's a tweaked writeup for her, new info is in bold. If there aren't any questions/comments/clarifications/etc then you can consider her finalized as well.

Air is a female swordsman. She possesses greatly enhanced physical attributes (things like strength, speed, etc.), and particularly “combat speed” (aka things like reaction time, short quick movements, etc.). Generally, you can think of her as operating around 7 or 8 times greater than ordinary, though something like lifting strength is a bit lower and something like dexterity is somewhat higher. She also possesses magical eyes and two magical weapons.

Eye magic normally has a power eye and control eye. The power eye is aligned with one of several very broad categories of magic (ex: energy, spirit, mind). Within their category, the owner develops more specific abilities based on their natural inclinations and on the eye’s magical inclination. They also get enhanced perception of things within their category (the scope and power of this can vary quite a bit). Air, however, has two power eyes: one “force” and the other “spirit”. Without a control eye, the power eye can act independently according to its inclination and will also affect and sometimes significantly alter the personality of its owner. Though she has no control eye, she can still control what her eyes do with some concentration. Usually eye magic is not very tiring, but taking control will tire her a bit. Additionally, her force eye is magically inclined towards death and killing. Once a battle begins, she becomes especially bloodthirsty due to its personality-altering effect, and the eye will always try to cause the most damage possible to others.

The force eye allows Air to push, pull, and redirect the forces acting on anything she sees. The actual strength of this is more like a “nudge”: she can’t throw someone around, but instead more subtly manipulate their movements (ex: pushing against them to make them move a bit slower or adjusting the direction of an attack). She can also use this on herself, but only if she takes control of it. The spirit eye is focused on perception: she can see spiritually- or magically-aligned things (including things that are invisible, intangible, or have no physical form to "see") and often understand what they are and how they work before seeing them used. This includes things like the nature of someone’s magic, what kinds of spells they can use, what the spell they are casting will do, and also the location/direction/effect/etc of a spell that’s been cast. She has a limited ability to interact with intangible/spiritual/magical things, such as incorporeal beings or her opponent’s “spirit” (aka the source of their magic). The eye also gives her minor “elemental” magic (mainly fire and ice) and she can combine it with her force eye to create a stronger effect. This is generally only useful if she can’t get close to her opponent, because she's better at close range fighting than long-distance casting. The primary strength of eye magic is that it bypasses defense and resistance. Whether it's physical strength, durability, magical resistance, etc. it's nearly impossible to resist whatever effect she directs at someone or something.

She possesses a sword that absorbs any magic that touches it and a knife that can drain all magic from the user and give a replacement effect. When activated, the knife will grant her significantly greater speed (about 12x). She can activate and deactivate it at will and doesn't need to be holding or using it, it just has to be on her person. However, it's not always advantageous to have the knife activated because she lacks proper control over her body when moving at this speed. She will generally be more effective in a close-range fight without the knife activated. It's mainly useful for either moving her entire body over some distance or for doing one specific type of movement (ex: in a fight, if for some reason she only needed to swing her sword really fast without needing to worry about footwork, defense, or technique, it would be an improvement). After deactivating the knife, her magic will be drained for a short while (eyes and her enhanced physical capabilities). An application of her spirit eye: with a little time, she can create a link between her spirit and her opponent’s spirit, and then activate the knife to cut both off from magic entirely. This will generally last for a minute or two before the link breaks and the knife will not grant a speed bonus to anyone.

Her sword will absorb any magic it touches. With her perception and reflexes together she is generally able to block any magic directed at her, including some types that don’t have any apparent travel time (but should need to see them begin to cast the spell in order to do this). The absorbed magic dissipates after less than a second, but while it is stored in the sword it can be released at her discretion (Usually this will just be a weaker version of the absorbed spell, but she if the effect is fairly simple, she can manipulate it to do something different. Like if she absorbed a fireball, she might be able to use the fire in a different way, like using it back at them like a flamethrower or creating a short-duration wall of fire). If someone is touching the sword and uses magic on it, the sword will absorb all magic from that person (of the type they used: Air would retain her physical enhancements if she “eyes” the sword). With great effort, this could be used to cut an opponent off of magic for a few seconds and potentially unleash it back at them, but its main use is allowing Air to pour her magic into the sword and unleash an extremely powerful attack, combining the power of both her eyes to create an elemental burst (typical ice or fire). Using this leaves her eyes deactivated for a while and is also quite tiring. This would generally hit at least twice as hard as her strongest ordinary strike. The burst extends out from the point of impact by about 6 feet in all direction.

Air is an extremely talented swordsman who became a legendary, undefeatable hero (among non-magical people. she's a "peak human", for what little that term is worth) before any of her magical abilities activated. As noted, her force eye focuses her solely on killing her opponent in battle. However, she’s not exactly a berserker: she’ll still fight intelligently and use her abilities effectively, but she won't necessarily always use the optimal strategy, particularly if it involves patience.

...yeah, I think I can't create a character for this in time. Despite all the, "almost finished" post I remember making none of my ideas sounded very fun (threw them all away), and even then what I have is...a freaking golem. Or construct, or rock monster, or whatever. Basically, it uses lava as a fuel source for attacks, has a lot of endurance and can channel liquid from below the ground. I could give you the finished copy if you'd like, but I don't feel that it's worth the time.

I suffer from my lack of finishing. But the contest itself sounds fun, so I'll definitely watch that.
