yea I might be frustrated about Auron going out but I don't think anything wonky went on in that way, but I dunno

It isn't really specific to Auron; this is just the final standard round and I figured I'd mention something I've had on my mind for the entire contest, and possibly even the last one I'm not sure. I'm not sure it's realistic to believe that anyone could respond within 10 or 15 seconds every day on a round time that's not announced and has a variance of roughly 6-7 hours. The level of dedication you'd need for that to happen is astounding and staggering to think of as plausible to me.

But I just wanted to comment on it, not like, try to call foul. There's no way to prove it, but if you really look at the data it speaks for itself honestly.

okay now this is getting interesting

I know early saves have gone way up but I always just attributed it to the Discord ping

(but I also don't pay super attention because I am Mr. Saunters In 45 Minutes Late)

The Discord ping is usually at least a minute or so after the round is posted.

I don't know. Like I said, I can't prove anything, but I've felt like this whole contest there's some sort of unseen advantage for some people that I can't quite put my finger on. It's uncanny to be early every single round; I refuse to believe anyone consistently has so little do to in their real lives for this.

I'm think more along the lines of scripting if you want it bluntly. When the same people get in less than 10 seconds into the round no matter what the start time is, you really have to start questioning what's going on.

There are some things I'd like to bring up about this, but I've decided not to for the whole contest. There's no real way to prove anything, but in my honest opinion, there's something fishy that's been happening for most all of the contest regarding the earliest typical voters.

I probably vote for lightning because I'm worried this contest is going to turn into one real character vs one joke character in the final each year. Plus Edward getting second will be a better comic anyway.

Maybe. I just don't really know honestly, given how the finals work with there being a benefit for those that really care enough to vote all 10 times or whatever. I'm not sure I can stomach voting that much in something I really don't care about.

Anyway I think we can all agree that Ronso horns are not reproductive organs so much as a status symbol. Think a fancy car or a boat instead of a schlong. Sure you can ride in it but not ride it wait this analogy makes zero sense.

Okay so imagine if every human, male and female were born with a sword attached to their body. It's not strange as everyone is expected to have one. You break your sword in battle and have to live with a broken off version of it you'll be ridiculed and shamed. That is how the Ronso horn do.

Yeah no, only if I was running around calling something "Year of X", which I'm not. I felt like Fang's win was a win for the game and not for the character, because that's exactly what the supporters painted it as. It had nothing to do with being big fans of Fang, it had to do with getting XIII a win by any means necessary which I think sucked and lacked heart.

Or rendering last year a big waste of time. As much as it pains me, yeah I am just not feeling this in any way. Also that "Year of XIII" thing is spoken about as if everyone was on board and clearly, that wasn't really the case. It was so heavy handed and in your face to the point it was severely grating. Even while it was happening I was wondering why Lightning's fanbase would push Fang into a victory when it could damage Lightning's chances of winning herself in the near future.

If I were to make a guess, I'd say Kefka defeats Lightning in the finals. Lightning will likely inherit the most strength from here on out, but it's Lightning so I'm sure somehow she will lose. The thing about Auron is that of all the characters left, I feel he has the least to gain of any elimination because the people that aren't already voting for Auron probably just don't really like him very much in the first place. I'd say that if Lightning did somehow go out, that might be the only way Auron would reach the finals but I don't see it happening.

It might be true that Auron can be seen as an easy magnet for strength in late game situations, but I think that's true for a lot of characters honestly. Generally if you make it to the top 5 you are a magnet of some sort or else you wouldn't have made it that far. But if you look at the earlier contests Auron versus new era Auron you see a drastically different character strength wise. It's also important to remember that as SMFFFC has gone on, various characters have fluctuated in strength based on the absence of people no longer here. I can't go out and prove it or anything, but in the pre-Marche contests there were clearly more people who were Auron fans than there were after.

One thing that kinda annoys me is that a lot of people don't seem to understand the definition of the word "underdog" very well. A character's prior performances have absolutely nothing to do with an "underdog" status. It would be like calling the Ravens the underdogs when they played the Browns because the Browns have more championships from 900 years ago. People seem to forget Auron has been pretty mediocre to just downright forgettable for years now. Just because he once upon a time was a contender each year and has won doesn't make him this odds on favorite or not the underdog to characters who have all contest appeared to have more support.

Someone sell me on one of the last four characters, I want to keep saving but I barely have an opinion on any of them and I like this idea more than picking a number out of red mage's hat.

Auron wears the most red out of any character left. Simple choice right? Also he's the most stylish.

For a lot of people who have never witnessed a top 5 placement for one character they support, plenty of people will look at 2 characters making the top 5 in a light that's been suggested.

In fairness this is RM's first top 5 and technically speaking me and Swordz are just maining our main person and hoping it works out.

I've heard, but considering that happened when he died right after a person told me he was getting Seymour for free and never did, then yeah, wasn't much in the mood for replying or commenting at the time. A year is a long time away. I hope it goes well.

3 nominations of mine in Char's top 10, and all next to each other. The two FFs come at no surprise but didn't know Char had experience with FSA. Granted, maybe it just won out some 'meh' like matches. And of course, I can't take too much credit for the FFX location, I'm sure Snake would have gotten it (eventually) if I didn't, ahaha~

It did get favorable matchups, yeah. I'd have rather had a different Zelda location make it but the series does have some cool spooky locals so I'm glad something did.

The October VGC update is well underway, I went through a ton of work today and have nearly 300 images made today. Needless to say yeah, it's another end of the year large month update so in total I have no idea how many characters I've added lately; it's a lot. I'll try to have it finished up some time within the next week.
