I mean this in no way disrespectfully to anyone involved but I think it would be optimal for literally everybody in this present equation if folks just... don't respond when Chris talks about his role in stuff re: SMFFFC, lol. Like a lot of folks view it as egomania and have expressed either directly or indirectly that it irritates the heck out of them and that's a whooole conversation I could get into but probably won't because I'm trying to gather aethersand to help Cid, Biggs, and Wedge crack open Mor Dhona's mysterious Crystal Tower tonight tbqh but I'm noticing this loop here where

a.) a conversation starts
b.) irrespective of the subject matter, there is a 40% chance it ropes into Chris talking about things he's done in the past
c.) people get edgy about it
d.) it affords Chris further opportunities to talk about things he's done in the past because he references it with regard to why people get edgy in the present
e.) people get edgier because Chris is referencing things he's done in the past all the more so because people got edgy which prompted Chris to reply and those replies tend to involve things Chris has done in the past
f.) the entire cycle feeds into common perception that Chris is egomaniacal

For the record I'm pretty chill right now, I'm sipping delicious green tea and I had a phenomenally good chicken sandwich for dinner earlier! Cid P didn't have delightful comics.

Kefka barely lost to first time winner Tidus. In fact I think that really tells the tale.

But yeah I guess we'll see.

If I were to make a guess, I'd say Kefka defeats Lightning in the finals. Lightning will likely inherit the most strength from here on out, but it's Lightning so I'm sure somehow she will lose. The thing about Auron is that of all the characters left, I feel he has the least to gain of any elimination because the people that aren't already voting for Auron probably just don't really like him very much in the first place. I'd say that if Lightning did somehow go out, that might be the only way Auron would reach the finals but I don't see it happening.

Fair enough, I have heard sometimes it helps to release the anger directly at the object of your anger so that you can feel as if you have finally confronted it, but there are many ways to deal with life's stressful situation.

honestly I think you're babying Chris too much here, I even said hell everything he does works out for him so it's not like me saying anything is gonna stop him. Or anything else anyone says is gonna stop him. Chris is Chris, he's gonna do what he's gonna do. You don't have to feel like you need to defend him and tell people to "don't respond". I very much want Light to finally win after these many many contests backing her, but I could easily see any of the remaining characters beating her in the final. Edward has the amazing comics while Kefka and Auron are pretty beloved characters. Considering Lightnings past failures too Id be afraid of facing any character in the final though.

Something about conversations like this always sit wrong with me, and I can't quite place it. I guess I treat SMFF like I do mafia to the point I think of most things inside of it as a fun contest contained within but people getting upset with me for things I didn't intend to upset them never feels good.

I probably just need to watch more One Piece.

Just hoping for the nightmare to be over and the soul of XX Lightning to be put to rest. It was a year ago today she was eliminated, 11/05/18, Day 86. Still running 10 days ahead of last year I guess.

Struggling to see how Edward survives tomorrow yet it seems to always happen! Kefka/Auron/Lightning would be a killer final three though, all quality there.

for me I turned off from the Edward run when Chris mentioned the prospect of him falling for Lightning to take 1st and I realized how god awful it would be for another IV goat to bring in a XIII win

I'd be cool with the run if it's serious about winning but the 102nd to 2nd meme is terrifying

I think people are somewhat serious about Edward winning (I know I am) it just always feels like theres not quite a majority that would vote that way.

I mean we literally have lefty on record grousing about bringing back in such obvious boot fodder so the whole line was sort of a joke.

Kefka > Auron > Lightning > Edward for finals strength (though I could see Auron/Lightning flip due to anti-repeat bias)
Lightning > Kefka > Auron > Edward to get there (I think Lightning is the main beneficiary from RM's demise?)

Kefka is really the main beneficiary (Koala and VI already committed and they're regular traders)

What you need to wonder is which way lefty and gravy are heading...

It would be nice if lefty kept his preference to a character from his game, and Bossman would be a Coolguy if he were to save and trade for Edward!

I really don't mean to sound like a broken record...

It was legitimate, but it certainly felt illegitimate, because Lightning would have and should have won if she wasn't lawyered out. Because it was Year of XIII someone from that series was going to win in the end. And very, very unfortunately, Fang was the last one standing, so everyone rallied there.

Meanwhile Cid P was the joke du jour (but not that jokey, he was a well-liked character from FF4 and was last stnding from that game early on so had solid support) so the final 3 had the two of them and Kefka. And I was desperately hoping for Kefka to get in because I knew Fang's win would kill Lightning's chances for justice this year. And of course he didn't, I remember it was rationalized at the time that "the only way Cid P can have a chance of winning is against Fang and vice versa", so Kefka was boxed out.

But yeah, it was bad (man Vanille or Sazh would've been better) and so when you get people like GMUN or Koala complaining that this is shaping up as a "repeat of last year", it's really not. It's correcting last year, redeeming last year.
