Pretty similar to my own top list of characters to be honest. I apparently have a thing for purple haired girls though because I had both Kloe and Rixia in my top 10 when I last thought about this. >.> (The rest are either characters from Cold Steel or characters you also put in your top 10)

Estelle and Renne the best.

Elie isn't near the top of my rankings, but she definitely runs laps around all the other "weakest members of their main cast" characters.

Rixia too low but I guess I can live with it. Top 5 character in the series for me though.

Cao Lee is one of my favorites villains in the series conceptually. I guess I can't really disagree with the ranking though because I don't feel the series has utilized him that well. (...Yet? I still have the Calvard arc to play after all.)

I don't know if I like Arios as much as the rest of the fandom but it's hard to say. He's definitely a great character, but he ends up suffering when I think about my character rankings more due to the quality of his competition than any problem with him.

Mariabell is probably the only real major villain letdown in the series for me. Not that she's bad but I was just really underwhelmed as a whole. (Edit: Wait no I take it back there is also one in Cold Steel I just forgot about)

Wald also one of my least favorite characters in the series but I just really really dislike that one scene in chapter 3 or 4 or whatever it was.

I think Cold Steel (including CS3) is a step down from the earlier games, but I still think they're good. Also lots of fans swear by the Cold Steel series so who knows.

Cold Steel 3 is probably my favorite of them also but it's on the same tier as the weaker games in the Liberl/Crossbell arcs. (Assuming we don't count Reverie as a Cold Steel game, though CS3 and Reverie are very close for me anyways)

I agree on the principle of it, but at least in this case all this is stuff you will hear anyways during the Cold Steel games.

I feel like I would have liked Attack on Titan more if it didn't end up being a mecha show in disguise.

I suppose I still found it reasonably good either way though.

I also dropped Yuri is My Job after 1 or 2 episodes and didn't care for it much.

For Kase-san I only read the manga and it was a bit of an odd case. It had a solid foundation but as things went on it really felt like the story was treading water and reusing conflicts even when there was little justification to do so. That seems like an issue that could be totally sidestepped by an anime OVA though so it might be quite good.

Absolutely loving this new event where you get double planar ornaments and they're all HP% ropes.

Ok caught up on Apothecary Diaries now and this show is very good. Might even be passing Frieren for me, though it's hard to say since they're pretty different types of shows.

Kind of wish I'd waited to watch it though since it seems like it might be the type of show that's better to watch all at once instead of week-to-week.

Apothecary Diaries seems solid after 2 episodes. Not completely sold on the show as a whole yet but it's been good enough and the main character is fantastic.

I am also pulling for Hanya and Xueyi despite not particularly wanting any of the 5-stars on those banners.

Used the self-modeling resin from the event to get a Quantum damage orb for Qingque since I had been using ATK% previously, and of course got absolutely garbage substats to the point that it was probably still worse than the ATK% orb.

But then in a rage I decided to do a single normal synthesis on that planar orbment set with my leftover relic remains and not only got Quantum Damage again by pure chance but also substats of ATK%, SPD, CRIT DMG, and Break Effect. I guess I'll take it.

C's party is great but I still don't think I like them as much as the SSS or even New Class VII.

Liberl has the best individual characters but for some reason I have more difficulty thinking of them as a group. This doesn't really matter for the game itself but it makes answering this specific question a bit weird.

Apparently I should have tried this more recently before speaking. I had tried Fu Xuan solo sustain on MoC 10 during the previous 2-week period unsuccessfully, but I was able to solo sustain with her on MoC 9 this period without much difficulty. Admittedly between Qingque and Himeko my DPS's are very efficient at breaking side 2 of this MoC 9 in particular (where everything is both quantum and fire weak) which is what I did it for, but yeah.

I will say I've probably invested more resources into both of my best DPS units than I have into Fu Xuan which may have something to do with how my MoC experience plays out, idk. Fu Xuan is probably 3rd though.

There's tons of ways left to improve my characters (particularly traces and relic levels) and I suspect I'll reach that point eventually, but all I'm trying to say is that I suspect it's not possible right when you hit EQ5.

I've also been able to 3-star at least up through MoC 8 even with both teams running an Abundance and Preservation unit. I haven't attempted MoC 9/10 yet though I'd guess I'll only be able to manage 2 stars on those. (If that, last round I was only able to 1-star MoC 10 though the passive buff this time is somewhat better)

I don't think it's possible to build teams with only one defensive unit that work for MoC 7-10 until a long long time after just hitting EQ5, unless either Luocha or Huohuo (who I don't have) are way more significantly ahead of the 4-star healers than I'm giving them credit for.

Motivation to keep talking to a billion NPC's after every event is hard to maintain which is why I don't advocate for religiously doing that or do it myself >.>

I do talk to most of them but I usually stop or at least only talk to the ones I like if it starts feeling like a chore, which usually happens at around 60-70% of the way through each game.

Oh that's actually great. I read a good chunk of the source material and was never motivated to go back to check out the anime, but I've always been really curious how they would do these next 2 arcs.

I should really get back into the webtoon tbh. A bit of a slog at times but there's some really good stuff there, and I never found the motivation to continue after the author had gone on hiatus for like a year.

Are we talking about main stats or substats for relics? Because I pretty much just get relics with the right main stat and then accept that *eventually* relics with good substats will appear if I didn't get lucky the first time.

Hell I don't even always care so much about the right main stat--I've spent a long time with ATK orbs instead of elemental damage orbs or whatever

Really not a fan of the stun mechanic on these new enemies in the slightest. It's not fun at all and the fact that it seems made to make life as difficult and obnoxious as possible if you don't have the new shiny gacha character just feels like a slap in the face.

Is there a way to quick-swap relics? Feels like I should be using this new Penacony set on some characters when I run a mono-quantum team but I don't want to have to constantly be changing back and forth just because now I want to use them with Jingliu as my main dps or whatever. Honestly might just ignore this even if it is optimal because it really just sounds like a pain.

I feel like I don't believe in the 2pc/2pc sets nearly as much as the rest of this community does.

There's some 4pc bonuses that obviously aren't great like Healing or the HP set for some characters, but I think basically all of my offensive characters have a 4pc set.

Well actually managed to clear it on a subsequent attempt.

The trouble is I don't really have the sustain to clear the last stage legitimately--the only way I was actually able to survive at all is by doing the first half with Fire Trailblazer and bending over backwards to make sure none of my DPS characters ever took a hit from the ape, which is not ideal for a lot of reasons and took up 15-20 of the 30 cycles alone.

Oh no I thought I still had another hour RIP

So Himeko is definitely going to be wanting the new follow-up relic set at 4-piece, right? Working on getting my Himeko leveled up and built but seems like I should be waiting on at least the relic portion of that.

Finished book 4 of the Wheel of Time

I remembered this as one of the strongest books in the series and this time was no different. Moghedien is awesome. The Aiel are awesome. I'd somehow managed to forget entirely about the section where Rand learns the history of the Aiel, which might well be the best part of the series so far. Perrin and Faile's stuff is also fantastic here. Overall I remember their plotlines being a bit hit-or-miss*, but this part of their story is right up there with the best parts of the series.

Great book overall. They might have spent a bit too much time moping around at the start, though I suppose I'm just going to have to resign myself to that if I have any hope of making it through the series this time around. No actually sure whether I liked this or The Great Hunt more but they're both cleanly ahead of books 1 and 3. I guess I'll go with 4 > 2 > 1 > 3 as the ranking for now.

*This view might be influenced a bit by the fact that I most recently dropped the series right in the middle of what I'm told is the worst of it for Perrin and Faile.

Has Mihoyo ever directly confirmed that there's no downside to trading our leftover random currencies (ie. Shield, etc) to the area shops for credits?

The Guard relic set is probably fine on Fire Trailblazer but I have to imagine they want the DEF set more.

Match 3 easily the best 2 songs today.

Preservation was definitely not good for the event and I technically didn't try Abundance but would be shocked if it's any different. I was never in any remote danger of dying even with the most offensive paths so I just don't see the point. Maybe there's something to trying a Preservation/Abundance run with no sustain characters at all but I suspect that still wouldn't outdamage a good Hunt composition.

I don't think Hunt is necessarily the best generically but for the purposes of this event it just feels like the clear winner with the combination of a turn limit and you being comparatively overleveled. I could see Nihility with Kafka also being good but I don't have Kafka so haven't been able to try it.

Hunt felt by far the best though I don't think I tried Elation or Nihility.

I liked these last 3 episodes of Frieren a lot. Very cool show. I don't think it will work if there's higher stakes stuff all the time but giving a mix works well I think.
