Anyway, just watched it and we saw a few endings until eventually it stopped giving us the option to go back and change stuff. I assume there are still more that I didn't see, in particular I figure something different would've happened if you still say no even though Stephen already has the bunny, like his mom still dies but he stops harboring any ill will towards his father about it or something. I also would've expected more stuff with Colin, and maybe opting to jump off the building instead of him would've opened up new choices involving him?

Now I wonder if I'm just expecting too much and will be disappointed if I try watching again and discover there wasn't really much else I didn't see. I don't think any of the endings I saw would really qualify as a good/true ending, but I guess I also don't know if one even exists, lol. I can see the ending with the game getting a 5/5 being considered the "good" ending, because it is still Black Mirror after all.

Minor spoilers but it being a CYOA ends up as part of the plot with the main character aware that his decisions aren't his own, plus some other stuff.

According to the news pop-up, only Golden Mushroom, River Survival, and Dice Block are exclusive. The first time I went in, Golden Mushroom was pinned, the River one was also there, and the Dice showed up with the first refresh.

Yeah, most people probably didn't have a strong legendary primary spirit the first time they tried it. I know I sure didn't. That said it's still doable, but the more reasonable way to handle it with a low power level is to just focus on staying alive and wait for Charizard to kill itself on the inferno pillars.

AFAIK, it's percentage based, not a strict number. So that would just mean 1.8 million isn't in the Top 10% or whatever of Bowser/Ridley/Incineroar players anymore.

You can't fight the boss fights like they're regular Smash battles. You have to look at them like regular action/platformer bosses. Stay back, observe the attack patterns, hit and run, shield A LOT. That kinda stuff.

Pokemon is my favorite franchise and it's mostly because I like to collect things. But Yo-Kai Watch is one of the very few games that actually made me hate the collection aspect and it doesn't sound like Yo-Kai Watch 2 is any different. Sure it does some stuff better, but as you mentioned, it does some things a lot worse.
To this day I still don't understand how I was supposed to get those Crank-a-Kai exclusives in the first game, they are the only Yo-Kai I am missing (well and that panda noko thing)

Oh, there are a ton of Crank-a-Kai exclusives in 2 also, but at the same time there are also a ton of QR codes/passwords for coins online so most of them are actually easy to get.

Honestly I don't think the game was developed with the idea that people would actually have a complete "living Pokedex", but that each person would just find what few rares the RNG bestows on them and then trade them away for the few rares other people had until eventually you just register everything without actually keeping them all at once. Which of course just isn't nearly as easy to do overseas as it was in Japan at the height of its popularity.

I still think the game is much better than the first one, you just can't approach it with the goal of having a complete living Yo-kai dex. YW3 will probably be better since it's all one version, but it's also probably worse because fuck there's over 600 yo-kai in it and I'm sure a lot of them are bullshit.

There's an added mechanic where you can tap a yo-kai to get an extra boost to the befriending chance, and it does have a noticeable effect. I also don't think rare yo-kai were as rare as they used to be. But I think for some of them they were relegated to only appearing in specific spots, so if you're unaware of where those spots are it can take a long time (I think this happened with me and Reversette, spent forever looking for it but then when I did find it, I ended up finding it numerous times in the same tree fairly quickly).

On the flip side, there are now a lot of version exclusives you'd have to trade for, and a handful you can only get access to if you have save data for two or even all three versions of the game on your 3DS (and a few you need YW1 data to get). Pandanoko is still the same, so that's off the table unless you're super lucky, and there are a lot of QR code exclusives. One in particular there's only like 3 QR codes that give the needed coin, and even then there's only a 20% chance of getting it from the coin, so that's super lame (but not impossible since you can create a second save file to try again and again until you get it, but it takes like an hour to unlock the post office, so lol). There are like 3-4 fusion items that only drop very rarely from the new Busters mode, which is super time consuming to get them all, and another fusion item from a scratch lottery ticket that you'll also need to reset over and over and over to get (while also reading up online how to be as efficient as possible). Oh and there are a few S ranks exclusive to RNG in something called the Infinite Tunnel, which is another massive time sink.

So, uh, while befriending from battles is quicker, the game honestly still doesn't respect the player's time at all if they're trying to 100% the Pokedex. But since you can't keep your yo-kai and transfer them along to YW3 anyway, I just got what I reasonably could and called it quits.

If it's still like how user stats used to be in SMFFFC-2, your position is based on how many saves you made but also how well the characters you saved did. So GMUN may have saved more than you, but you saved characters that overall performed better than GMUN's characters to where you still scored above him.

I've actually never used items on the spirit board but now that you mention it, weaken minions would possibly make the Trevor Belmont fight way more manageable.

Also yeah I bought Pyra, Windfish, and... some other legend, but I forget what. I think each shop has a different legendary spirit they can sell, but I think I've only seen one in three shops so far. I try to make sure I stay above 10k at all times (I also only buy the 1-3* spirits when they're at least 20% off).

But he went about it in the dumbest ways. Ira wasn't a great leader, but he also wasn't directly leading them down the path to war. But Aced still started an alliance anyway and got his union to try to build up more Lux to over throw him, which spurred on other unions to get more Lux and thus he started an arms race (that the others knew was going to lead to the end but went along with it anyway). Then by the end he was basically just power crazy and wanted to be the sole leader over all the unions. Also he never told anyone his role to challenge Ira and then got butthurt over Gula never telling anyone about his role and called him the traitor for it, lol.

Which again points to the Master of Masters being a villain because he had to have known what he was doing when he gave Aced the role to basically usurp Ira. I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote the book himself, called it unavoidable prophecy, and manipulated his group of morons into ending the world for him or something.

Okay I'm in the BbS portion now and Xehanort's Reports are already kinda contradicting what I just watched. They say the Keyblade War was fought because all sides sought Kingdom Hearts for various purposes, but only Gula ever even mentioned Kingdom Hearts, and even he didn't really want to open it so much as just use it as a ruse to get the Master to come back. Everyone else just fought because they were stupid and because they were told it was inevitable.

Which again makes me think the Master of Masters is the real villain because if he'd never said anything and never showed anyone the book of prophecies, the Keyblade War would've theoretically had no reason to ever happen (or at least not anywhere near as soon as it did). Also his Keyblade is totally evil looking (and yes I quickly noticed Xehanort using it in the first timeline scene of BbS). Note that I don't remember if I should already know from the games I did play if the Master was actually Xehanort the whole time or something silly like that (but I guess it is a meme that everyone is Xehanort...).

But anyway I guess I can't be too hard on it since any record of the time before the current world would basically be akin to a myth or legend.

This is actually great to hear since I didn't get the first chest from the Mysterious Zone. At first I figured it made sense to fight all the wrong battles first in case they disappeared or something, but then I learned there were chests for right answers. I was going to be mad if that one chest prevented 100% completion.
