That list is so small that I'm certain there must be a lot coming in updates (beyond just the already confirmed holiday NPCs). But if not then damn, because it looks like there's just a whole lot less variety in what you can do on a day to day basis. We'll see how the Day 1 patch looks tomorrow. I'm remaining hopeful.

Yeah my red New XL has lost sooo much paint. And then even the silver under the red has worn through in places to a plain black. My red regular XL had no paint loss.

Come to think of it I remember people on the west coast who pre-loaded the game and got it unlocked at 9pm the night before release had a small leg up because things unlocked a day sooner for us than the east coast people, lol.

Hmm, don't forget that New Leaf had a lot of stuff in the beginning that was gated off by real time waiting. If it's the same then there might not really be a ton to do on Day 1 (though you could always time travel maybe).

Yeah I first noticed them because as they were fleeing the soaked pot they had spontaneously occupied, they were forming a thick stream slowly headed towards the kitchen garbage can. Protip spraying them with Lysol kills them basically instantly. Sprayed the whole stream and wiped them up with a paper towel. I stuck the pot outside by grabbing it with some pliers (and then dropping that outside too because the ants were already all over it).

A little potted plant that's been sitting in the same spot in my house for over a year was suddenly super infested with ants last night and it made zero sense. Like there were never any ants before, and then I went to water it and looked back later to notice every square inch of the plant and the pot was swarming in ants, and there was no trail leading to it. It's like they spawned out of thin air like some Egyptian plague bullshit.

Nah the shiny rate is the standard 1 in 4096 it's been for several gens.

There are a few things that can increase it even in the early game though. Chain catching/defeating the same Pokemon repeatedly offers an increase and even outside of chaining encountering the same Pokemon over and over slightly increases the rates. At 500 of a Pokemon defeated overall + a 25 chain (the max) the odds are around 1 in 585.cc

I believe it was discovered that active chaining has nothing to do with shiny odds in this game, instead it only increases the chances of finding a glowing Pokemon.
