It was always a fight for the Wario hat, since he's broken (with his ability to stun-lock and run down the clock). Well, apart from in the Castle Grounds level, where Luigi can jump up on the castle roof, out of reach. The minigames were cool too, and could be played with up to 2 players IIRC. New Super Mario Bros. improved on those. Neither of these were particularly polished or original, but I had fun nonetheless. |

Gameplay-wise, it was frustrating at times. At least the game over scenes were good. The best thing about the game was the atmosphere. It's one of the few games that made me feel uneasy (I was young at the time). Each act of the game got more and more crazy. |

We kinda have the best of both worlds now (the high capacity of optical media and higher read speed of HDDs/SSDs) - in theory at least - if you don't mind an install and/or download. In practice, it's often not handled well though (e.g. massive day one patches). |

Haven't played Royal yet, and am in the process of playing Golden (played the originals of course, and FES). I did play 1 and 2: IS recently, but I can't be bothered including them too. Should I play 2: EP? I guess I should to close out the story, but I'd be stuck with the PS1 version. Anyway, 5 might even be my favorite due to the gameplay improvements and world. The Palaces are way better than the randomized dungeons of 3 and 4, Tokyo is bigger and better than the other worlds (but Inaba is cosy as you say), and I love that Confidants give you gameplay bonuses. That's not to mention the smaller improvements, like the battle interface, snappiness and overall presentation, guns coming back, etc. Fusion Spells would have been nice in 4 and 5 though. But yeah, the story, characters and pacing are better in the others, although I don't think 5 is that far behind. I think 5 could have done without Mementos. My theory for its inclusion is that they needed somewhere that you could obtain missed Personas, train and do requests, since Palaces can't be returned to after completion. I'd have preferred an ass-pull to let you return to them, with some quests and other changes to give you a reason to do so (a little like 4's dungeons). |

| luigi13579 06/28/20 5:33:22 PM #13 | In terms of the numbered games, I've went back and forth between 7 (original) and 9 (6 isn't far behind), but settled on 7 more recently. I prefer the more open-ended character customization in 7 (even if the characters can mostly all do the same things, although I don't think that's an issue until the end-game), and the sidequests (Chocobo Hot & Cold and Chocograph hunting are great, but FF7 has more to do). I think 7 is paced a bit better too; 9 drags a little at times (the slow battle speed doesn't help either. And Limit Breaks > Trances. 9 obviously has better graphics (and probably music for me). I also think the towns are bigger and better (sans Midgar). |

I've been trying to do the dungeons in one go, but obviously have had SP issues. I grinded for some Snuff Souls (using 1F Castle chests) and that got me through. I bought some TaP Soda, but that only heals 10 per use, and you can't amass many. |

| luigi13579 06/25/20 6:30:42 PM #14 | There haven't really been (m)any big budget open world (in a GTA-style city) cyberpunk RPGs. There's also an expectation that the city will be extremely detailed (like a more dense GTA V) and that there will be plenty of "choice and consequence", like in the best RPGs. We'll see whether those things pan out. For fans of the tabletop game, Mike Pondsmith's involvement is a dream too. He seems to have some interesting ideas and a lot to say (he's certainly written plenty about the Cyberpunk world), and that'll hopefully come through in the story and its themes. |

And supposedly that price will be a complete rip-off, because renewables will be way cheaper when it's eventually built. But the government will argue we need baseload generation. |

I live in the UK though, where we have traditionally been more into Sega and later Sony. Also, everyone and their auntie had chipped PS1s and (less so) PS2s here lol. |
