Each generation I've gone back and forth on.

PS2 > XBox
PS3 < 360
PS4 > XBox

I think this may break the habit though, I prefer the Sony exclusives. I'll probably eventually get a Series X, but I'll start out with a PS5 with a disc drive

I probably lean PlayStation, but honestly mod availability for Bethesda games may be a factor as I tend to pour huge amounts of time in to them.

I am probably going to wait a couple years to figure it out in any case.

I'm pretty much locked in with MS since switching platforms would mean giving up my 200+ game library, but I really hope the Series X is only $500 because I've got like $200 in Amazon gift cards and will have around $200 worth of MS Reward Points by then, and if I can pay only $100 out of pocket it would take me very happy

i have tons of ps1-4 games and my ps3 only plays ps1/ps3 games and it is a pain in the ass having to use 3 playstation consoles

The good games on Xbox isn't enough to break my Playstation collection. I'd consider getting both if those 360 shmups are made bc tho. Disc drive of course.

I skipped the 8th gen so far. I'll be buying a switch and maybe a PS4 before any 9th gen consoles.

The disc version I suppose. Although installs are often needed anyway. I wouldn't mind eschewing the disc drive so much if they had Steam speeds and generous storage.

My PC and previous gen consoles should keep me going for a bit.

I'm building a PC at the end of this year so I'll probably wait a couple years and then pick up a PS5.

The only Xbox system I've ever owned was the 360. There were almost no exclusive games to it that I give a fuck about. I'll stick to PS and PC going forward.

It really depends. Sony started charging taxes for digital goods in my region recently, while M$ seemingly hasn't.
If my plans to move abroad don't come to fruition, I'll probably go with XBOX simply because I don't like throwing my money at the garbage.

I think plenty of folks realistically would be fine with that Series S for the Xbox. For that big of a price gap, 1080p is good.

Going to stick with pc probs. Console gaming is too expensive. Might as well go whole roadhogg and get a gaming pc when they are that bad. Comes with a whole suite of nongaming material as well.
