There wasn't really a specific trigger. I just gradually became disinterested and realized that there was no real reason for me to believe in god / practice religion.

My parents identify as Catholic but don't really care, and haven't went to church regularly for decades (probably before I was even born).

I went to Catholic schools, but aside from the sacraments (e.g. Communion) and the odd mass, my time at school was entirely normal. I was fairly disinterested even back then, especially at home, but no-one at school cared very much.

There is sequence breaking you can do in Zero Mission too. Its not an accident
Yeah, ZM's is mostly intentional, since sequence breaking was more understood then, plus the game had fewer glitches to lead to unintentional breaks. SM obviously has a greater mixture of intentional and unintentional.

Veggeta_MAX posted...
Sequence breaking in SM is highly overrated. Yes, it's there and yes it provides replayability but people act like it was a genius thing that was way ahead of its time. I'm pretty sure the devs wasn't tryna make it possible for you to beat the game backwards when giving you sequence breaks in SM.
Obviously they can't be credited for the crazy sequence breaks they didn't intend, but the design of the game does make them possible. Soft locks are favored for the most part (i.e. you only need the power-up to get past), any missile/super missile/power bomb tank gives you the ability, etc. Obviously the wall jump and shinespark enable a lot too. And yes, there was an element of luck too, with glitches working out nicely.

It might not be anything particularly complex or "genius", but few games do it, or do it as well (and few did at that time, at least in that genre). It's easy to fuck up.

Also, I don't really care *how* the sequence breaks made it in; all that matters is that they did.

It reminds of that story of the person standing on their roof during a flood waiting for God to save them. A helicopter flies past and they refuse to get on, saying they're waiting for God's help, then eventually they die. God then says to them, "Why didn't you get on the helicopter I sent?"

New Vegas > Morrowind > Oblivion > Fallout 3 > Skyrim

Quests and factions are a big thing for me, and the top 3 do those really well IMO. New Vegas certainly has the most open-ended and detailed quest structure, and the greater opportunities for role-playing (Morrowind is the best of the ES games at that).

NV and MW are the most "old school" in terms of design, which I like (although I understand that's not for everyone). I feel that they let you figure things out a bit more than the other games (which combines well with their open-ended nature).

Morrowind's world is by my favorite out of the ES games too.

MW could easily have went above NV, but NV's quests are just that bit better. MW has a few fetch quests.

The first problem is that you're discarding the BMIs when you first calculate them. Add another array at the top to store them (just move your BMIScore array up, but keep it empty initially), then append the bmi_totals when calculated.

BMIScore will currently have one entry. bmi_total is out of scope anyway.

I think the rest should now work. If you still get the tuple/float error, try float(i) in the if statements.

In the second loop, you're looping through W and H, but not the names. You'll need either a counter that indexes into Names, or to add Names to the loop.

I have to go, but I'm sure someone else can give specifics if you're still stuck.

Puzzles in dungeons are still more interesting than the literally-just-a-bunch-of-straight-hallways dungeons of games like in Tales of Graces, at least. But yeah, Meltokio Sewers and some of the others are really, really tedious at times with all the slow animations and lengthy retracing of the same paths repeatedly for no real reason.
Yeah, I'd rather have puzzles over empty hallways (sans enemies).

I don't mind the Meltokio Sewers. The Shadow Temple is a bit annoying, but I can cope. Ymir Forest is probably the worst for me.

Not surprising

Scotland NHS is far superior to England NHS because There's only like 9 people in Scotland and the local governments are rarely conservative.

I knew a Scottish girl when I was living in Plymouth who couldn't believe she had to wait weeks for an appointment to see a GP who lived down her street.
I was going to say that, but I think pinky's in Scotland, and the SNHS obviously isn't immune to this sort of thing.

I must be lucky since it's fairly easy to get an appointment with my GP (in normal times anyway, as I haven't needed them during the pandemic aside from getting vaccinated). This is in Glasgow.

There is one receptionist that's noticeably cheekier than the others, although she does her job alright otherwise.

As a Scotland fan, I have to agree lol.

I think it became like this when all the TV money entered the game, making club football hard to compete with (particularly the top leagues and Champions League). Then you had the Super League nonsense.

It would have been unheard of back in the day to dismiss the FA Cup, let alone the World Cup. Now you have players retiring from international football to focus on their club, pulling out of international games (outside tournaments) to do likewise, etc.

I have them on Steam, but grabbed them since it's good to have DRM-free versions. It's convenient to have a single file to store/transfer.

Returns is OK, but Dragonfall is great. That opening had me hooked.

I still have to play Hong Kong. Supposedly it has the best gameplay (and too much text/dialogue), but is second to Dragonfall in terms of story and characters.

Definitely give Dragonfall a try if you haven't.

I wonder if they'll be able to strike a better balance between the linearity of Fusion and the relative open-endedness of Super, Zero Mission and Prime (including sequence breaks). Fusion did use the linearity well, but it would be nice to be able to go more off the beaten path, without losing what made Fusion so refreshing.
