I usually find a recipe and then kinda ignore a lot of it. spice combinations / sauce ingredient ratios I tend to keep, approximate cook time I tend to keep. stuff like ratio of vegetables to other ingredients I flat out ignore (no online recipe ever has enough vegetables), I also tend to modify vegetablels just based on what I have on hand

this is basically how I'd do it, although it's not so much visualizing them stacked as much as visualizing each digit at a time, starting at the ones digit, and hoping that by the time I finish I haven't forgotten the results of the first few digits <_<

well i mean, there are different categories of speed running. some that use hacks, some that dont. some that use tool assisted cheats, some that hack only whats possible on the original system.

hacks and gitches are not the same thing at all, don't use the words interchangably or you are just creating confusion <_<

before clicking on this topic I was ready to confidently guess late 30s - early 40s. then I saw the poll and felt compete defeat

I definitely prefer 2D zelda to 2D mario but somehow this looks less appealing to me than mario maker. maybe it's because mario maker is interesting since you get to see many existing known pieces combining in unusual ways, while this is just all original so there's no baseline of how things are supposed to work to start

my exact thoughts on the matter

taxi just asks you like 3 y/n questions, of which they've already directly told you the answer to 2 of them and the other is immediately obvious, and somehow manages to stretch this process out to take 3 minutes

the comic and the debates are the only parts of the gameplay I really like. debates because they make the most sense to play and are just funny + stylish, the comic because it's cool seeing all the parts come together and if you actually understood what happened in the murder it's pretty simple and doesn't take too long

the later games have some pretty awful minigames, like the car driving one is just horrendous

hiro has one of the stupidest moments of the series when at the start of the trial you need to prove kyoko isn't a ghost. like, come on man

in general though I think the game gets better at handling its charaters as the series goes on. in DR1 basically the only actual characters are sakura and kyoko but by the third game there's a decent sized cast of real people

the singleplayer is definitely more involved than I think any other fighting game single player nowadays? it has a significant amount of story and some misc boss fights along with just normal beating up enemies

but honestly I did not find it very fun and the loading times are atrocious (talking like nearly 1 minute to load stages that take 2-3 minutes to play)

multiscale is better than any of these

aqua finally making solo master is the greatest redemption arc, failed it last time -> quit apex for an entire year (considered quitting forever) -> come back somehow playing way better than before and actually succeed

she was so stressed over it last time, got up to diamond 1 and then dropped back to diamond 2 in the end, had 10ish hour streams multiple days in a row, ended up so bothered by her own performance and some harsh comments she'd see from people that she took an overall streaming break after the season ended since she was having nightmares about losing apex points. this last stream, the moment after she had 2 very good first games and changed the stream title from solo master challenge: day 9 mid-stream into solo master endurance stream was so hype and I don't even know anything about apex

I only played tthe first game a long time ago, it was kinda cool, I liked the setting a lot and I think it did a very good job of depicting a gradual increase in scale as a small village group gradually gets in more and more over their heads. The other games are pretty well liked too (among people into the genre) but I can't say anything about them in specific since I don't really know

they have a fair bit more slice of life / everyday stuff than you might expect though, it's not like fire emblem and it being just completely military action 100% of the time

Well in Holostars' case, I think that's a problem with Hololive's active management style combined with a focus on idols combined with Japan's weird idol culture. The male talents at Nijisanji do so much better in both the Japanese and English branches. If Hololive were to introduce male EN talents, I think they wouldn't have as much of that weird idol thing going on, but I could be wrong.

yeah I dunno it's really all just speculation. I'm just thinking that male streamers in nijiEN doing well has precedent from them doing well in nijiJP too. but not the same on the holo end. hard to really tell for sure. but I wouldn't be surprised if they did like a 4 person debut and basically never had collabs with any of the rest of holoEN and then any sort of initial hype dies and there's just not much left. like, this is totally something I can imagine happening

It's best to think of 2D games as a graphical style, like traditional hand drawn animation. It has charms that 3D doesn't have. That is what draws people to it. It's not just nostalgia.

This is one of the big parts of it I think

the other big part is that I don't think it's reasonable to make games like the big popular PS5 stuff on small indie budgets/time frames / staff size even if many years go by

Do any of tech guys no what to do about this. I have some art work out put online. I would hate for someone to make an NFT out of it. Note I know it will most likely never happen but still that is messed up.

Your options are basically

1) put obnoxious watermarks on everything to the point where no one would want to sell it (though this obviously makes the art itself worse)
2) notice when NFT trading sites are trading ones with your stolen art and issue takedown requests (they will not always comply)
3) pretend it's not happening

I think this is kinda oversimplifiying it a bit, the relationship, as weird as it is, does sorta go both directions (to what degree depends exactly on the personality of the streamer mostly, not really something you have a say in as a viewer). Across various streams/people I've basically witnessed direct evidence contradicting the first 3 of these, and sorta the last one as well. though "enitled" is a bit of a strong word that makes this statement pretty much always true even if they generally don't mind or even enjoy talking about it

cheaper planeswalker that has less loyalty is an interesting idea I guess

also are they really bringing back attacks alone mechanics? those kinda sucked <_<

Hmmm I see

to elaborate some on these:

Userbase - if you have people in your community from all over the world instead of mostly just the USA, there's a lot less politics talk (except on very general broad scales) because most of the time it's just not relatable to a lot of the people there

Moderation - let's be real here, like 90%+ of the politics talk on this board is from trolls (on both sides) and if they weren't allowed to do that there'd probably be a lot less of it

the reason it happens to gfaqs is because of a largely regionally homogenous userbase and a lack of moderation

my family has a pretty large garden so I suspect I eat a lot more vegetables than the average person. not that it's out of any attempt to be vegetarian or vegan or anything (well I eat meat regularly so yeah...). I dunno, I'm pretty content with my food variety overall and I wouldn't say it feels overly expensive or anything.

meat / cheese tend to be the expensive stuff I buy though so I'm not too surprised that vegan is cheaper

3) this isn't stopped but that's by design. you can even sell the same image as two different NFTs on the same blockchain if you want. the NFT isn't the artwork, it's just an identifier, which in this case is linked to the artwork. I think it would be a bit silly to do since the uniqueness/scarcity of it is where it gets its value from but there's nothing actually preventing this from being done

the decompilation is already done* but I guess the part that's being worked on now is working out all the other bits that make it a truly functioning port. kinda interesting to see how it all shakes out, I'd mostly thought of the decomp as a way to learn things about the game (and many things have definitely been learned) but I guess you can also make stuff out of it.
