it's good in concept but its dev team is really bad at adding actually useful things (choose words that will highlight you instead of just your name, spoiler tags, better disconnect/error handling) and instead adds dumb stuff like reactions and animated avatars

VR (well, this is more a hardware limitation for me)

Each of these I've probably played at least one game fitting it and enjoyed it but in general I associate them with games I'm not particularly interested in.


also going to echo the OP and say "souls-like" turns me off a game pretty fast. Procedural generation works very well for some types of games and very poorly for others so I'm not going to blanket dislike it or anything

they're extremely useful with the holy water and cross because those weapons have a long stun time and if you can get more than one on screen at a time you can stunlock bosses and kill them without them even moving

year was very wet and not very warm here, had some issues with things not growing well because of it. Normally have more tomatoes than we know what to do with but this time we barely got any at all and we're probably not getting any more since we've had 1/2 frost days already

on the other hand, apparently cucumbers like that sort of weather since we have more of those than I've ever seen before

it's the passive skill tree

depending on your starting class you start at one of 7 different places https://vgy.me/pEDMTk.png

and then every level up (as well as some quest rewards) you get a single passive skill point which you can use to just kinda build your passive tree however you feel like. nodes are generally grouped into smallish clusters of related effects but you still need to plan a lot about where exactly you want to go and how you want to get there.

The things around the side are smaller trees for subclasses, you don't get very many points for them but each point has significant (sometimes build-altering) effects compared to the main skill tree

I don't think people are saying she's bad from a personality/story perspective (though admittedly I don't remember that much about her there either, some of the side characters get shafted pretty hard in terms of development in RD) but from a gameplay one

Depends whether you count balancing the game as part of difficulty in development.

If you don't, they're pretty easy but probably still aren't the easiest. I'd say the easiest that are at a level most people would consider games (so not visual novels) are text adventures, point and click puzzle games, action puzzle games and very barebones mobile games

They definitely didn't dumb down pokemon, it generally gets more complex with each generation really. The issue is that it started out pretty dumb and is still pretty dumb but now you're old/aware enough to realize when you weren't before
