Regardless of what I think, privacy can be accounted for. There are probably other scenarios where having the cameras off is justified too. But the ability to turn them off at will without even being asked why is a problem, I think we'll agree.

Re: Barbara Lee. I highly doubt she gets appointed when shes actively running for the seat in 2024. It would give her an unfair advantage. Its a complicated issue because you want to appoint someone that is only gonna serve this temporary term and not try to retain the seat
