It's crazy that people who only come into soccer for the World Cup don't understand that the sport continues to exist when the tournament isn't happening.

You can't compare a league championship to an international event.

I'd argue the level of consistency needed to win a league championship in soccer, or the Champion's League, is much higher than a championship in the NHL/NFL/NBA/MLB, where you need a solid core and have the ability to get hot at the right time.

Imagine knocking the best player in each of those sports because they failed to win at the Olympics. Those are things that you add to the resume, not base the resume off of.

A potential 37 year old Ronaldo does not incite much hope, and the young players aren't exactly world beaters. Consider the "window" officially closed.

It's actually much worse as a fan because instead of being bored, you get anxiety that slowly ramps up throughout the game as nothing continues to happen.

International Soccer, followed by American Football, are one and two when it comes to "man do I love these things but also feel like shit the entire time my team is in a big game".

I'm pretty even against Recruit Hunter. A well-timed Polymorph or two usually stops them, and if you can avoid getting hit in the face for 7 or 8 then you're usually okay.

I've never beaten Shudderwock with Control Mage. I don't see it too often, but once I'm sure that it's what I'm playing against, I concede just because I'd rather take the loss and get into another game.

Control Mage being tier 1 on the latest Data Reaper means that we'll likely see more of them on ladder, which means more counters, which is not great for me playing Control Mage.

On the other hand, we'll get more players who don't really know how to play the matchup. Just had a mirror match with someone who got Jaina 5 turns before I did, but didn't know what to do once I stopped playing things and he couldn't make Water Elementals. As soon as my Jaina came down it was over because he kept giving me free 3/6's by flooding his board with minions.

He played a relatively early Alanna too despite me not playing a single Dragon's Fury yet, which did not end well for him.

A patch was released that supposedly fixes the rating issue as well as the options bug where gyroscope controls would randomly turn themselves on/off despite what you have picked in settings.

Two big things that should hopefully benefit online. Still no retry button though.

Scarlet, since you're here, I've been meaning to ask about the new Punisher #1 that's shipping in August. Some of the stuff I'm reading is either about to end or I'm going to drop (Hellblazer, Mister Miracle, Suicide Squad), so I'm looking to potentially pick up a new book or two.

I didn't read any of the Marvel Legacy Punisher (or any Punisher at all actually), and the solicitation for the new one seems like a continuation of that one. I know it's a #1 so it's likely a decent jumping on point, but is it something you'd recommend, or should I look to fill the void elsewhere?

So for the knockout phase, is it taking our original bracket into consideration, or this new one we're filling out?

If it's the former, though, it wouldn't make sense to have us fill out a new bracket, if it's the latter, it doesn't make sense because it wouldn't have asked us to fill a complete one out in the beginning if the knockout portions of it didn't matter.

I'm confused.

Iron Fist stands out as disappointing because of the quality of the other Marvel Netflix stuff.

If it was a random Marvel show on broadcast TV, everyone would be like "yeah, this is decent", but I feel like there's a certain standard that the Netflix stuff provides and it falls short of that.
