I think Biscuit's point about trust is interesting. I was kind of meh on everything after Endgame. To me, Wakanda Forever was their chance to win me back with what should've been a sure-fire success. And I just found it kind of okay. Since then I just don't care.

I feel like there's zero chance of evokers being in the remake, which I'm honestly fine with. If they are they just won't look like guns anymore.

I'm totally fine with this being a test run for P6 in the same way Catherine was a test run of the P5 engine. This does seem to suggest that P6 is light years away.

Sure - because with one-offs I think it's more likely that the adaption supports the original, rather than erases it. The more "Disney-fied" it gets (spread out and endlessly milked) the more the original product is destined to fade to obscurity.

So if we could have one off films (preferably with totally different vibes and audiences than Illumination) I could see that paying off really well. If we get an endless series of fan-service kid movies, then that's bad.

I'm just saying it's fair to say that the MCU's success has not paid off for its comics or characters.

If the "NCU" becomes a thing and leads to creative stagnation in the games, then I'd rather not have an Ice Climbers movie that leads directly into Mario 2.

I truly hope we DON'T get a "Nintendo cinematic universe" like a few posts back though. Sure give me a Zelda and a Metroid movie. We don't need them to be connected though.

I mean, Capcom's Inafune-less Mega Man was better-received than the spiritual successor from the man himself, which can be argued to be a parallel to how Disney-era Star Wars stuff has generally been better received than the prequel trilogy.

the Disney-era stuff that is being well-received is the Filoni stuff, who is thought of as a "Lucas disciple" (citation needed but I remember seeing it in Variety I think). This makes sense since Filoni worked with Lucas directly on Clone Wars.

Andor is also well-received, and that isn't a Filoni product, but it's really not a Disney product either. It's really just Michael Clayton in space, which a lot of grown-ups like but I'm hesitant to even call it Star Wars.

Lucas is having a resurgence now and I'm pretty sure most SW fans prefer the PT to the ST

probably undersold this being top 5 box office for the year: most likely it'll be the highest.

Yeah? Sounds like a hell of a story from the synopsis.

It's not a pleasant read, so I'm not surprised high schoolers don't like it. I also could imagine several high school teachers being unequipped to teach it.

It's an extremely good book though.

It's pretty wild that Disney actually greenlit a sequel trilogy that:

• broke up Han and Leia, the original's most popular pairing
• Had Han and Leia's kid be evil
• Had Han and Leia's kid KILL Han, arguably the original's most popular character
• Had them turn Luke (the other most popular character option) into a scruffy weirdo (this one is generally ok with me actually)
• Had Luke fail at teaching and think about killing Han's kid
• Had Han's kid basically kill Leia
• Had Han's kid basically kill Luke
• Had Han's kid be essentially redeemed for all of this

It never bothered me as they were coming out, since I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but it's no wonder that fans are so let down by the sequel trilogy. It's so unnecessarily dark. All this really does is ruin the happy ending of ROTJ and weaken the original trilogy in general, because you know they just go on to have miserable lives of failure. There's no happy endings in life, but Star Wars is a weird series to try and make that point with.

Not to mention that all the new characters never really reach their potential, so they basically sacrificed the original cast for a pack of nobodies.

For many fans "when are 5 and 6 finally coming to switch" is a pressing question that they desperately want an answer to, so to hear somebody say they were already on there was probably like a mother 3 fan being told that it's on Switch online
