All this talk about fast-forward, I want to make it explicitly clear that FFXII more than ANY other game needed it:

huge empty open areas with slow walking
extremely slow atb gauge charging
a battle system where you don't press buttons

I very rarely use 1.5 speed in any other game, except maybe Trails replays

Me obviously, since fast-forward/1.5 speed was implemented in that one

My overall take is that Zodiac Age > the original but that's hardly a hot take. Also the ZA changes aren't enough to drastically improve the game. It's boring at its core.

Storywise, I think it's underrated and I like the characters and cutscenes. There just needed to be more of it.

FFXII is unplayable without the fast-forward option. so bad.

Yeah so the stories are all noticeably improved over Octopath 1's. For me Cyrus and Primrose had memorable storylines but not really anybody else. Everybody this time around is fairly memorable, if not a bit grimdark, except for Agnea obvs

AAI1s length is great and helps to sell its villain who is one of the best in AA history. Fantastic case all round.

I think GAA1 is still pretty good, but like everyone is pointing out it makes more sense if you think of it as the first half of a regular AA game than its own ting.

this is just the nature of it. women are far more likely to have multiple matches at the same time, and therefore going out on first /second dates with multiple people. also it's far easier to just say "i'm not feeling it" via text rather than in person. it sucks but it is what it is.
