Anyway, the point of my post was that the strike was only a part of the problem. It's really another case of the MCU's ambition backfiring on them.

I think the strike has really hurt The Marvels. I think Marvel fatigue is a thing - the brand is not where it once was where people will go see anything Marvel. I also think that Captain Marvel just isn't very popular - the first film benefitted highly from being post Infinity War, and therefore, post one of the biggest blockbuster cliffhangers ever.

But I also think this movie is Exhibit A for arguing that the Disney Plus experiment has failed, despite how good many of the shows are (I just finished talking about how great Loki S2 is). The film is trying to market itself as an ensemble cast when 2/3 of the leads have only appeared in Disney Plus shows.

I will say Episode 2 of Loki Season 2 was a huge whiff. I never felt at all concerned about "billions" of people dying on branched timelines, considering this is what the TVA has always done, and it really fell on the actor for B-15 just being really sad and saying "Those are people" in a really ham-fisted kind of way.

Still a great show though.

One of the best shows of the last ten years. Still not as good as Succession but an amazing time for prestige TV.

I can only echo the praise for Loki Season Two. I just binged the whole thing. It's truly the one project that showcases the potential and achieves the promise of Phase 4. Season One had some really good moments that put it up there, but Season Two took it to another level.

It was basically timey-wimey nonsense, but as a big Doctor Who fan I was totally bought in. In many ways it does Who better than most actual Who episodes.

Last ep spoilers: I have no idea what happened. Seems like pretty out there power creep but maybe I'm just stupid? It works thematically but it also feels like a big ass pull. I still like it but it also feels kind of lazy. Would've preferred he kill HWR and replace him with Timely, which is predictable maybe but makes slightly more sense

I just can't comprehend how anyone can say that with a straight face.

Honestly, it's like how some people have a refined palate with varietals of red wine and stuff. I have no doubt they know what they're talking about, but it all tastes the same to me. Same thing with 2D mario games. To me, everything since Super Mario World has had the same level of high quality(except for NSMB2 which I recognize is kind of weird/sub-par).

Base game of this was way too easy. Cool game though. I'm not sure it's notably better than NSMB.

If I were given the keys to the MCU I'd definitely pull the plug on Agatha and Ironheart.

I'm mildly interested in Echo, but really, I think I'm just always open for more D'onofrio. I predict it will be pretty boring when he's not on-screen.

Perhaps the BoTW/ToTK haters will enjoy Naughty Dog's Legend of Zelda

I think this poll becomes a lot more interesting with Rise of Skywalker taken out, since to me that is so obviously the worst one by a long margin. Without RoS, Id probably say AOTC

It's very close between AOTC and TLJ for second-worst, but I think it's TLJ. The Rey/Kylo/Luke stuff is interesting to a certain point and the throne room scene is cool, but Finn and Poe's storylines are both huge time wasters. Also Leia flies through space and Luke thinks about killing a kid. People can try to praise this as Rian Johnson "trying to do something new" as much as they want, but it's still pretty bad to shit on the original characters like this.

I haven't played a persona spin-off that I've disliked, and I'm sure I'd like this one if I played it. But there's a billion other games to play right now that are way more interesting.

it definitely doesn't comfort them or remind them (depending on the stage/type). my mom's just not there anymore. it's not my mother who I go to visit. it's a different person who mentally exists outside of time.

in my experience closure is a myth with alzheimer's and dementia because it just gets worse. closure can only be achieved once it's over, i.e. they've passed.

As has been mentioned, genre, audience, and context can't be ignored. It reminds me of when people say the soldiers in South Figaro raped Celes. No, they didn't.

Setzer tries to kidnap Maria and then Celes because he's a scoundrel / pirate / bad boy, much in the same way Han Solo was in the original cut of Star Wars. The archetype itself is misogynist/toxic, and it's certainly not "okay" to lock women in rooms and kidnap them. But I think the game is quick to show that this was largely for show/reputation purposes, not because he's a sexual deviant. He also does get his comeuppance for all this, since he loses his airship and is found basically drinking himself to death in Kohlingen in the World of Ruin.

Seymour's waaaaaayyyy worse if you're voting purely on how much of a creep someone is.

Moon Knight has issues, HOWEVER I remember it having some pretty good scenes in other episodes of that show. I found the entire last episode of that show a big let down. That series had two really good episodes (the first one and the "weird" one) and the rest was kind of blah

To play devil's advocate here, having no familiarity with her in the comics... isn't [her powers as described in the Tweet] basically just Taskmaster? So in that sense her comics power is kind of lame? I might be showing my ass here re: Taskmaster too, who knows.

Also since I mentioned Taskmaster, yes the Black Widow version of the character is terrible
