thanks friends. it's nice to hear other people have gone through stuff like this.

I was a really unpopular kid (obviously if I'm a single 39 year old posting on gamefaqs) and they were really the only people I "liked" until high school. they were also really weird too so we were just this really small insular family who were into video games and music. I know a lot of my grief stems from this place of pseudo "privilege" where if they were assholes it wouldn't hurt so bad.

anyway - my mom actually did pretty well in surgery so I maybe overreacted slightly, which is good news. that being said.. she still has alzheimer's and has to go through physical therapy to learn to use a walker now. it's possible she just forgets how to walk and is just in a wheelchair now, but we'll see.

I'm struggling to continue this one. Started out promising, but something about the gameplay loop just feels weirdly unsatisfying. Combat without the press turn system just feels wrong. Might bump it up to hard and see if that fixes anything for me. The story isn't all that interesting either.

wish I liked god of war enough to try out ragnarok. not my thing but I know it's an objectively good game.

Taskmaster wasn't the worst thing about BW

but I imagine if you're a huge Taskmaster fan (they do exist! there are dozens of us, dozens!) then the treatment of Taskmaster is up there with what Fox first did with Deadpool in Wolverine Origins

yeah if this keeps up the quality and paces out the ending it'll be great. still only be the third best bleach arc (after soul society and whatever we call the first part of the series)

my thought exactly. I'm not a huge thunderbolts fan so I'm not upset or anything but this is definitely a secret avengers team.

I'm going to get all emotional in here, just warning you.

My mom has Alzheimer's but has generally not been really bad off. She can't remember anything and is in assisted living, but I could deal with that. Anyway, today she fell and broke her hip, and it just seems obvious now that she's on a decline. Feels like maybe a year left, but doctors can't say for sure.

My dad passed away a decade ago and that really sucked for everyone. I was in a deep depressive state for maybe a year and have been pretty much normal depressed ever since.

I'm 39 now and I obviously know that losing parents is a part of life but jesus it sucks so hard. I was kind of a sheltered kid and really relied on them a lot. When I think about me being "on my own" for some reason I get really anxious, even though I've been living on my own since I was 20 basically. Like I hate the idea that I will no longer be someone's kid, that there's not going to be a house I can just go to and be taken care of for a day, if that makes sense.

Anyway my mom's having surgery and it'll probably be fine but it also probably won't. Life sucks. thanks for reading.

yeah it's probably american comics in general, particularly recently where they begin new series /creative teams every twelve issues. massive retcons that don't make any sense abound. huge event comics that feature hundreds of characters. extremely messy.

of these, I guess doctor who if you actually try to make it make sense.

I feel like I could definitely take this down to one, with no big deal considering my current set up is to do an instant oatmeal for breakfast and a regular meal at 4

One thing I've always hated about Iron Man 3 is how it dramatically misrepresents the city of Chattanooga,Tennessee. It's actually extremely nice, and even at the time of this movie's being made it was one of the first cities to implement fiber internet.

From what I've seen Trails from Zero doesn't have English voice acting? Also, I feel like playing Cold Steel first has kind of ruined the Crossbell games a bit. Like I don't know the specifics of what happens in these games, but also I don't really care to.

So I voted Splat3. I'm curious to see if any of these Square games end up being any good though. An interesting month for videogames.

Also, yeah, play Live a Live. Had a great time with that one!

honestly I think the outcry from the "graphics on ps5 are worse" crowd is way overblown

like the screenshots above don't really prove anything to me if I'm not seeing it in action

There are all-time classic pop-punk albums but this isn't one of them. Blue Skies, Broken Hearts Next 12 Exits is a much better effort from this band. This was their major label debut and the result is an album that's overall way too polished, safe, and long.
