That's sort of similar in the feelings it causes but different because TERF has always been used to mean someone hateful. You can condemn hating or excluding trans people and move on, but that doesn't really have an analogous response for not getting laid if you aren't or hadn't been getting laid. And I've been part of those conversations, and I heard them say that if I'm not misogynist or blaming women for my problems then I can improve my lot and eventually have a girlfriend. But it still brought up all the lingering shame of not being wanted/loved/laid etc.

I think that usage can cause shame in people whom the user does not intend to cause shame, so I'm suggesting it's not good for that reason. Even if all parties agree on that definition logically, I suspect that many wonder if the term applies to them when they hear it like that because it is still used to describe guys who can't get laid or get a girlfriend.

In my experience, it's used to describe individuals who are probably not part of a self-identified group, at least when I heard it used in real life. I hear it used in places I used to hear "school shooter."

I don't know anyone who wants to claim the label, but it seems like its intended use is to hurt someone. And it seems like the people hurt by it aren't the intended target. So it's ineffective and potentially harmful. We have a lot of terms like that but it's weird how people are acting like this a useful term.

To me it's kind of like if I called someone a slur and then someone else got mad at me for using it. And then I'm like, "Well, you aren't a [slur/derogatory name], are you? Why are you claiming that label? I meant something else." There are many examples of this. The etymology and historical context isn't something easily ignored and is the precursor to its current meaning. I'm saying that the feelings it evokes are shame and that the collateral damage is the feelings of people you're not intending to hurt when you use it. And sure, incels maybe aren't systemically or intentionally oppressed, but I do think that many face widespread social challenges which have gotten harder in recent years. For these reasons, I dislike its current usage.

I don't think that the usage of the term is good if it is associating terrorism and immoral acts with a lack of social success - it's like calling a weird kid a school shooter. I think that's just irresponsible.

It sounds to me like anything else where we're taking a word that described one loosely defined group of people and turned it into a pejorative. I don't see it as a good thing.

What disappoints me about its use is not the use per se but that it enforces the idea that a man not getting laid or lacking a relationship is a sign of his moral failure. It's an attitude that's existed long before the term and I hate it.

I disagree with that. There may be less unity, but populism has been swelling up for years and could blow the top off of certain institutions and change things in a very dramatic way.

As much criticism as Amazon deserves for their treatment of workers and market aggression, this seems like a good thing. Their entire model has always been good for the consumer and I don't see why this would be an exception.

There's average vs. median. I imagine the best players are one-and-dones but they also have the most busts.

Well, what'd be more revealing is seeing the length and quality of careers for players coming out after x number of college years or years in an overseas league, but that's more than I'm gonna do.

Populism continues to rise so it does have the potential to go explosively bad. I do think most people will vote Biden, but a 2016 outcome is possible.

I'm not saying that went well, but that sounds like a very difficult challenge to kick off any sort of campaign. I'm not sure any politician vying for the democratic party ticket would have handled that well.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong what he did in a vacuum, but it isn't in a vacuum. A lot of people were hurt when they found out he made up racist incidents that happened to him and that his daughter's life was in danger.

That said, bad pub is good pub and I'm sure he'll come out of this richer and more popular than ever. The New Yorker just gave him fuel for years because people love the narrative of someone standing up to the "fictitious liberal media."

I have one friend who's very handsome and is someone they put on a lot. There's this dating show that they do called The Button where two people sit down and talk until the button turns red and then if you hit it the other person is eliminated. He's one of the only guys that doesn't get immediately shot down and he gets to have fun with it.

I know a lot of people who show up on this channel. I think it's really gross but I get why it's entertaining. They get right down to things and it's fun to watch my friends in these situations. I don't think I want to do it because it's usually some bimbo putting a guy down.

The point of the rules is that if you cum at all it makes it way easier so the competition is moot. I wouldn't do it just to do it, though maybe other people have reasons.

That said, I'm not turning down any sex that comes my way for this game. I'm wondering if it will change my energy and willingness to put myself out there since I'm not gonna just fall back into my normal habit.

As far as I know there's no cash reward. I didn't have to put up anything. This is strictly socializing and entertainment so I don't think there's incentive to lie.

crackheads are far more annoying. they also might not necessarily look like a "bum." They tend to act paranoid and have a hard time sitting or standing in one place at a time. They'll look around a lot and dart their eyes.

Holmes scammed people out of hope and took advantage of a system designed to help people.

Bankman-Fried, I think, used billions of dollars to leverage in risky investments and went bust. That's mind-bogglingly reckless, but I could see falling into a spiral of gambling and trying to leverage to get it back until it collapses. He's responsible for that, though, and it probably hurt a lot more people in a tangible way.
