I would miss tech but the level of rhetorical, psychological, and comedic advancements that I know how to use would make me a superstar in that time. That said, I don't like to smoke and would likely never have gotten into weight lifting without the way it went mainstream in the late 20th century so I would have been a weenie who got picked on by starter jackets.

Guys, Disney is a scourge. They take and take and produce whitewashed doggerel. Star Wars became too big for its own good.

That said, it's still just movies and we have the originals. Which were already pretty simple. To be fair, it's a difficult task but they choose the easy way for money,

Because I truly think that JBP is brilliant beyond comprehension. In that he is a hyper intelligent person. His IQ would be well above Mensa standards.

As someone who has watched/listened to/read around 100 hours of Peterson and related analysis, he really is not. He is well above average, but this is the kind of mythologizing that stops us from criticizing his weak points, of which there are many.

Now, he does a great job taking facts and driving them hard. He has lost his ability to consider new viewpoints.

He is eccentric, but not a genius. He has had a good academic career but his celebrity started when he started railing on the lefty bogeyman.

The problem is he makes flagrant assertions and has acolytes who will believe anything he says because he is actually a riveting storyteller and gives generally good personal advice with mythology as his aid.

Anytime someone uses a platform of science to make dangerous conjecture and lies sound legitimate it is something that should be picked apart.

He has some decent insights when referencing solid psychology and approaches difficult topics no one else will.

But embraces the right because they won't call him on his shit and give him money. Fuck that. Brilliant or not, inspiring or not, he chose celebrity and cites empiricism when convenient and flagrant speculation when convenient.

After listening to him speak for roughly forty hours, I admire him as a therapist and teacher, a competent storyteller with good rhetorical skills, and a practical person. He can be funny and at least presents a lot of varying viewpoints before making his (sometimes questionable) conclusions.

The things that bug me are his tenuous connections he makes, blind spots with his criticism of atheism and postmodernism (and making huge leaps in attributing to them really destructive or stupid traits), and general narrow-mindedness in basically writing off valid objections to his views.

So, I like to view him as a passionate older guy who has reached success in a very specific way which can explain a lot of his blind spots. I can see why uneducated youngish people could idolize him and he himself realizes the danger of that but also isn't about to turn away the millions he's making off of it.

He references Carl Rogers a lot, which is legit, but then he focuses a lot on Bible and Christian stuff as well. I can see why he's ringing true to a lot of young men and it's good that he's soaking up some of the people who would otherwise go alt-right (though the crowd isn't mutually exclusive, he seems to offer some alternative lines of thought.)

I think he's savvy and sounds confident and mostly says a lot of simple things, better than a hack like Shapiro but not exactly a revelation.

Finally, Alfies Law would give the right for a second opinion from a parent-chosen healthcare professional who is independent of the NHS, and would force the courts to give this medical opinion equal weight. This is a key factor in many cases. The vast weight of medical evidence delivered by one set of professionals can become a rolling stone, trampling over opinions from all other experts. There is a danger, also, that once the hospital decides on a certain course of action, they get tunnel vision; they become closed to all other arguments or evidence.

In Alfies case, many feel that the NHS has closed ranks, and that groupthink within the organisation has meant that doctors cannot question their colleagues' assessments. We cannot let this continue.

Without addressing the grotesque appeals to emotion the article starts with, this sounds like an attempt to equivocate cherry-picked opinions to an entire field of scientific and ethical research, which is a terrifying proposition. It also lacks sources... any at all it seems.

So, this, like the rest of your arguments, is garbage.
