Black people tend to have a lower body fat percentage, higher bone density, and a lower center of gravity than white people. All of this contributes to less buoyancy and swimming ability on average than white people. It also contributes to the better sprinting ability. Few things we choose to wear are without symbolism and in a time when mask-wearing is a political statement, choosing to wear a mask pretty much defines which side of the aisle you're on. I'm sure they're somewhat effective, though clearly not the silver bullet people seem to think they are, but with the rate of infection being so high, it's not a matter of "if" you're going to catch it so much as "when". Wearing a mask might prevent me (or people around me) from getting the coronavirus right now, but eventually we're all going to catch it. And when what you're doing isn't saving lives so much as slightly delaying an inevitability, well... it's hard to give a damn. masks help prevent spread. it's that simple. and you're worried about what other people will think of you in the defining moment of our lives. people like you suck. --- |
