something is wrong with my save file but i can fix it. until i get off my lazy ass and do that, the luxembourg save is put on hold.

i edited some people, didnt save it, then reloaded and played the save and it seemed fine, but now those edits have returned from the dead somehow even though for the last few matches they werent there(because i never saved them). so i have to go back and correct each players attributes. will take some time but i'll do it.

The meatheads had 14 yellow cards with four reds. They gave up 7 penalties, and I made six of them. At one point they had 6 outfield players.

I feel they would have done even worse if they physically had the speed to catch up to me. An alarming number of challenges inside the box resulted in a goal via PK, if they were fast enough to reach my players more consistently, I feel they could have done even worse.

I decided to create a tactic, lets see how it does.

Im taking full advantage of my players creativity and passing. playing a high tempo game.

When I finally finish editing Im going to try to upload videos of awesome goals with this new save.

Right now I am not playing this save, but I am doing something at least I find interesting, since FM is life.

In 2013 I had a two team sandbox league, basically an easy league where two teams play eachother head on constantly so I can see what kind of results to expect with edited teams of my choosing.

Such as one team with all 20 attributes, the other with all 1s, two teams with great offense and poor defense(11-10 scorelines are real), the opposite...where defense is good but offense sucks to see all the 0-0 and 1-0 results pile up.

stuff like that. In the one I am doing now, inspired by the Bhutan match, is a team where all attributes are rated 1, but my team has 10 in every attribute/20, with some modified to 20: natural fitness, passing, bravery, composure, decisions, creativity, flair, teamwork and work rate. And the hidden ones of professionalism, adaptability, temperament, consistency, adaptability, ambition, sportsmanship, pressure and loyalty.

So average players with great mental attributes vs terrible players in every regard including hidden mental attributes. everything a 1, except: dirtiness, aggression, controversy and bravery. Those are 20 Just meatheaded assholes at the same time as having 1 passing, dribbling, decision making. Bravery for fun because it'll be interesting seeing players risk injury doing daring things where weaker willed players would back off because of the risk. This should theoretically blow up in their faces constantly.

yeah ive never been a tactical wizard. My favorite part is buying players because it feels so nice when I get a deal on a player and he ends up bossing for me. I also get super excited each pre-season thinking of how my team will shape up and what holes i need to fill.

I also feel like the park lost a bit of charm after it was bought out byca company who owns a company who is a conglomerate ofca soanish company orxsome such. Such as the safety message before each ride is now a prerecorded message and not the operator speaking. Even if its 75% static fuzz i appreciate the operators who would go all showman like dxplaining to keep your hands inside the car and stuff

Kennywood is fun but ive kinda meh about it. Been there so many times its lost some appeal to me. Some good coasters and rides but nothing too awesome.

Fun fact about Bhutan: they were in the movie The Other Final, which was a match played between the two lowest ranking teams in the world at the time, Bhutan and volcano-demolished Montserrat. Bhutan won the match 4-0.

Before this match my main DM Chris Phillips called for a demolition job, which has convinced me to play him when I previously wasn't since he isnt a backup. This player has spunk.

Backup goalie Jonathan Joubert gets his 90th cap and the first one in this tournament. Before Moris hit the scene Joubert was the man back there for a long time. He is 38 and inferior to Moris, but I wonder how good he would have been at 27 like Moris. 38 is ancient even for a GK.

Carlson, Bukvic, Schnell ands Laterza at the back. They all do not have many caps for me, I decided to throw them a bone.

DM is Phillips specifically because he called for a demolishing.

front three is Joachim, Bastos, and Deville. I want to see how many goals they can get, and one backup.

The best Bhutanese player is a man named "Chencho" with a current ability of 59/200. The average for this team is around 25. I didnt look up this figure for my team because i consider looking up a players CA or PA to be akin to a spoiler so i only do it on teams i dont care about, such as Bhutan, but I estimate my team to have 4-5 times current ability per player compared to Bhtuan.

Early on my team isn't scoring but its clear I am dancing around the defense. In the 20th minute Tom Laterza fires off a low, quick cross from my end to Joachim in their final third. He uses his speed to breakaway and scores. Glorious.

Not even a minute later, outside their box Bastos passes to Deville who passes to Joachim for another goal, 2-0 and 2 from Joachim

Not even a minute later again, on a free kick it hit the bar, and I got some lucky bounces and Joachim has his hat trick in the 24th minute, and his scoresheet thusfar reads 21', 22', 23'.

Shortly, Deville crosses it in for joachim to passes it to Bukvic for the score! 4-0 in the 32nd minute.

At the half I am leading 4-0. I decide to swap out my midfield for Rodrigues and and Sebastien Thill, as they dont even have an applicable position in my formation but this game is won and I want them to play sometime. I put S. Thill in there because his brother is also on the team, but Rodrigues shouldn't be here i dont know what i was thinking.

In the 58th minute their keeper tried to challenge Deville head on but planned his run incorrectly as he got to the ball outside of the box and got poached since he couldnt pick it up. 5-0

In the 68th minute Rodrigues, playing a position he knows nothing about, steals the ball from a sleeping Bhutanese player and slots it into the net. 6-0

In the 80th minute Deville passes to Joachim for a redirection into and open net. 7-0

In the 84th minute Schnell received a corner in the pile and scored among the tussling and confusion. 8-0

In the 86th minute an errant Bhutanese backpass in the box to a player who couldn't corral the easy pass in was poached by Joachim. 9-0 and five goals to him. He has attained a match rating of 10.0

I won 9-0.

For a statistical breakdown I shot the ball 35 times, a humongous amount. I had 18 shots on target, a humongous amount. I'd have scored many more times if my finishing was more creative, their goalie had 5 shots saved and 4 parries even though he was awful. Bhutan had one total shot. The average team ratings were 8.82 to 5.65.

So, this puts me in 5th place with 21 points and a goal difference of +13. This also puts Joachim tied for 8th place in the top goalscorers with 15.

You know, I love when people pay with change.

Theres a chance you could get something neat like a silver dime or quarter or something super old. The people who spend change sometimes dont know anything about it.

if i was this dude at a restaurant id be checking for any possible silver quarters, then throw em in my jar at home.

but i can see why people are annoyed but rather than be annoyed learning about currency and its value(numismatically) could possibly change your view on it. If somebody wanted to buy a car at my theoretical auto dealership in pennies I'd likely do it to see if I get handed any good ones. a 20,000 dollar car is 800 boxes worth of pennies. That is two million pennies. I'd be i heaven though it wouldn't be an easy transaction or easy search.

I beat Bermuda 3-1 in a game where I rested a lot of regulars and put in some backups and some who havent played yet, such as my entire attacking corps. The first half was dull. I definitely had more chances but my finishing was terrible, i was wondering at half time if I would shit the bed vs a team I should beat.

I knew I needed a change in attack so I replaced one of the guys with my stud Aurelien Joachim who has been on fire for me, scores two goals rather effortlessly, and i'm ahead 2-0. they scored to make it 2-1 but I wasnt worried and a third goal for me sealed the deal. Little shaky at first but I got into gear in the second half.

So this puts me in 5th place with 18 points, securely in the top half. it would take a near miracle for me to not advance at this point.

My leading goalscorers are Aurelien Joachim with 10 in 8(1) appearances and Maurice Deville with 7 in 8 Joachim would be on the scoring leaderboard but so many players scoring 3+ goals vs northern mariana type teams, but oh well thats kinda how this tournament will work.

edit: another note about tactics is, unless youve found a way to exploit a glitch or bug in the system, such as older editions you could set it up so CDs would score a ton of goals, while i have a great tactic and its likely the reason im doing as well as I have, there isnt a tactic that automatically will make a minnow beat everybody, and indeed I have lost a few games vs. stronger sides so far.

If it were me, i'd just deal with the coins. there are a lot of quarters there but nothing too extreme.

People who plunk down a sack of pennies and expect to be able to pay with them...they can get fucked. There is also not law saying a business must take any form of US currency, or US currency at all, so this restaurant could have told him to get fucked wit his change and they'd be in the right

However I feel they're being a little petty. But of course since I like coins and their value potential I'd take the quarters no problem.

okay im going to be honest about how cheap I am. I just download tactics that seem to crush people no matter what squad im using. Then in game I make changes where necessary but with great tactics that shouldn't be too often.

the tactic I am using for FM18 is bag a goal, which emphasizes good crossing and feeding to the three men up top from the defensive wings. But it isnt like I have any studs who can play the wings on my luxembourg squad but they're doing well.

In FM13 I found an amazing tactic called 3151 amen, which as it sounds had 3 CDs, 1 DM, 5 midfielders in a line, and one striker. This one was great because you could attack as much as you want but were rarely left vulnerable at the back.

the reason I myself am bad at tactics is kinda like RPG character creation screens. I get so overwhelmed with all the editing, customization and options, I end up picking something generic.

I thought beating Wales was impressive, and in fact I have felt like I was overachieving a little so far.

So, I took on France with my tiny Luxembourgian squad and actually won 2-0. This result shocked me, I'm not sure how it happened, really. The game itself wasn't too interesting. I found two good chances and Maurice Deville scored(but he missed a PK). France got a decent number of attempts but finishing was poor. My dudes held strong and my defense was tight. I didn't expect this, but for once we got one over on our big brother. France was 8-0 before this match with a goal difference of +39 and 15 points. I am their first loss of the campaign.

This puts me in 6th place with 15 points, still a game on most teams. This surely will help with my world ranking.

I took on Albania in a match I didnt expect to win, though I didnt expect to beat tunisia and wales, either.

I was not victorious on this day, losing 3-2. I was actually doing fairly well but then at the end their pressure was too much and I couldn't hold. Aurelien Joachim picked up another two goals and now he has 8 goals in 8 games. This leaves me in 7th place with 12 points. My next opponent is france who I should lose badly to, they lead the group but also the entire competition for goal difference 44/5 +39.

As a result of my recent performances I've moved up to 51st in the world ranking, beating the previous high of 93rd in April 1996. Before these rankings I was in 144th place. That win vs wales really helped me, as their world ranking before this update was likely in the top 15 or 20. So, after france I have all the true minnows of the group: bermuda, Afghanistan, Bhutan, and then I could likely get results vs the rest of curacao, equitorial guinea, and uzbekistan.

No wacky scores right now as I dont have time.

I just beat wales 2-1 in a game for the ages, one of the finest in my FM career.

In the 23rd minute Maurice Deville scored a bit of a flukey goal on a free kick, to put me ahead 1-0.

Shortly thereafter in the 33rd minute Tim Hall is sent off with a red card, so I am down to ten men for 2/3rds of the game.

Gareth Bale is having an atrocious game. at one point he missed a sitter and later my goalie Anthony Moris poached him head on.

I tried to play defensive in the second half, and this didn't work. The only mistake I made, and only good thing Bale did was poach me when this mentality combined with the tactic plus down a man made me vulnerable at the back, so he scored a breakaway.

In the 68th minute my team is weathering the storm tied 1-1 when I get a penalty, however Maurice Deville misses and hits the bar and cannot secure the rebound, so we're still tied.

My goalie is weathering an absolute storm of shots by now. His final tally was 27 shots faced with 12 on target with 11 saves. Final match rating of 7.5 which is actually very high for a GK.

At this point late in the game a tie would be nice and a loss would be horrible. I hope my team can see the game out so late. Until...

In the 90+2', Krogh Gerson sends in a last minute free kick and Maurice Deville smashes it home! victory!

I just beat Moldova 4-3 in a game where they seemed to have the upperhand, but I held strong. At one point I scored a goal in the 54th minute, they scored as well in the 54th minute, and then I scored again in the 57th minute. I couldn't pull away. Pretty good victory for my team. Striker Aurelien Joachim becomes Luxembourg's all time leading scorer, with 18 goals.

I am now in 7th place(9 points) in the group after 5 games whereas some people have played 6. So I am in a healthy position to advance. next round will be tough because it should get rid of the majority of random nobody teams like Kiribati and Northern Mariana Islands. Yet to play any true minnows, so I likely will qualify.

San Marino has played 6 games, with one tie. 3 goals for, 19 against. they are in 13th/15. The teams lower than them are reunion and St. Martin. Their only result is still the tie vs Annie Clark.

I beat Tunisia 3-1 in a match I dominated even though I should have lost because tunisia is much better than I. This is a great result for me. I knew advancing to the second round meant probably knocking off one of the strongest teams in the group at least once, and this is that result. This puts me in 11th place with 6 points, one point away from safety, however Ive played 4 matches and most other have played 5, plus I havent played any of the true minnows yet, so this is looking good for me.
