I have one called Kuhn's that is a little bit run down that I guess would fit the description of "dodgy" plus the name alone makes people not from here do a double take.

There is another one called Giant Eagle. I guess "dodgy" isn't the right word but people from around here love to wax poetic about how their high prices are evil and killed their dog. They are much more expensive than a place like Aldi, but not too much more expensive than the above mentioned Kuhn's. At least once a week there is some type of thread on my cities reddit going on about the prices as if it's actually that noteworthy.

This interaction took the cake.

Last week a guy with a long red beard came in and bought some mini bottles of salted caramel moonshine. I've seen him before, and thought nothing of it. Out of the corner of my eye I swear I saw him open it and drink it outside my store but in the view of my window by the public garbage can. Okay, noted. Guy comes in the next day and same thing happens. So, I tell my crew if we see him come in again I am going to stand outside by the garbage can in hopes my mere presence will encourage good or at least not blatantly illegal habits.

Today I am in the office, and I hear a voice ask for salted caramel moonshine minis. I stand up, in full view of the customer and walk outside and wait by the garbage can. Not right next to it but close enough, and I was watching. Guy walk outside, goes to the garbage can and fiddles with something, opens a mini, drinks it and throws it in the can. I mention that I can't be having this kind of thing happen in front of my building. He goes "huh?" and I repeat myself, I cannot have this happen in front of my building, or else I might have to not serve somebody if it keeps up. He didn't say anything but he looked mad, and walked away.

15 minutes later the guy comes back inside asking for another moonshine mini. I see him and I tell him we are not serving him, as he just had one outside. He proceeds to argue about my sign(on the door, it says if you are visibly intoxicated we will refuse service) and what visibly intoxicated is. I tell him he just drank one a little bit ago and I saw it, that is enough. Visibly intoxicated in this case means we visibly saw him drink it just a few minutes ago. He then gives me the middle finger and walks out saying he won't be back. I hope he doesn't come back. I know I certainly didn't do anything wrong and in fact if anything I was being too nice, actually giving him more than one opportunity to correct his behavior before I said anything.

I don't have problem customers at my store, this man being one of the first. I am not really sure what motive he had for coming back, because since I saw you drink one of the minis 15 minutes ago(breaking multiple laws) that is an argument you will lose every time.

In retail when they say they won't be back, they often are. I do hope he doesn't. And to think, all he had to do was go outside of the view of my store's window, as in 30 feet in either direction, down the mini and I wouldn't know, and I am not really supposed to action on things I merely suspect or have not personally seen with my own two eyes.

If my best friend called me and woke me up at 7AM asking for a ride to work, I may give them a "you're welcome...." partly as a joke.

However the last time I watched it was likely in my early 20s, so maybe I would appreciate it more. I understand the effects were groundbreaking for the time, but that doesn't really make me appreciate excruciatingly long scenes of ships docking into other ships all that much.

I took a photo a few years back of the back of a US five dollar bill with my camera with an infrared filter attached at the end. The purple five disappeared, as we can see below

https://imgur.com/a/gSRXdNF

Now, I posted this online a few days ago somewhere because I thought it was interesting. I figured other people would, too. Some people may have been intrigued, but a lot of the comments were basically telling me this was basic color theory and not all that different from children's spy glasses. That didn't sit right with me, but I couldn't explain it, because I am no expert in any of this.

So this evening I took an image of a five with a different camera - one that has been converted for infrared photography - no filter. The five was purple in that image, but then, after discussing with a friend, it hit me. The image I took way back when was outside in sunlight. I could take a photo in similar conditions tomorrow with my new camera and I suspect it would behave similarly but my friend came up with an idea that worked exactly as he theorized.

I went into my laundry room, positioned my camera, the bill and two two remote controls(for their infrared light). I shut the lights off and took a long exposure clicking the remotes to introduce only infrared light(or as good I could get without being in an actual dark room), and here we go:

https://imgur.com/rS7J4pv

the five disappears but also two white strips appear. This was expected, but I have never been able to see this until now. Every denomination 5 and higher has these strips, too(but I don't think any have a purple 5 that disappears) so I'll be able to get images of those also.

And lastly, I took a photo of a fake five dollar bill I have to see how it doesn't appear any different:

https://imgur.com/OQjwgSu

Anyways, this was actually a kind of fun experiment but I am glad it worked exactly as my friend thought it might. I can also stop going crazy now because I have exactly the answer I was looking for but didn't know enough about to say.

Hot damn! Some day soon i'll image all of the notes with this method and we'll see!

I voted that I do not have enough knowledge, and I say that because of hearing people talk about the ordeal. Most of the time the conversations devolve into "this thing happened" "no it didn't!" People say Hamas are liars while posting video edited by the IDF. People say the IDF are liars while posting video directly from Hamas.

Ultimately my opinion doesn't matter, because I don't engage in debates about it and I haven't really taken a side. But my perspective is really how could I know a definitive answer with what I've been presented?

Democrats want to spend but they'll tell you they will raise taxes. Republicans spend as much or more but cut revenue sources and have no way to make that up. So a fiscal conservative for Trump must not have been paying attention as he did zero to lessen the US deficit and only increased it.

I don't care. It sucks that some places have no grocery stores other than these shitty dollar stores that are run horribly and treat their staff like shit, and people will lose their jobs but I just don't care. These are the kinds of businesses that deserve to fail, because they treat their workers horribly and don't even do a good job at anything. Customer experience in one sucks also.

I work at a retail store in a union(I am a manager in a separate union) and I have stolen two employees from the Dollar Tree in my plaza, because they both seemed like good people and the job i could provide them with is significantly easier and better and pays more, and has a path to actual benefits you can use.

After I hired the second one I have decided to boycott Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Five Below and Family Dollar because I had a friend who worked at five below and it was just a miserable existence. scheduled for like 8 hours a week(not in one shift of course) and you had to call to see if you were needed most days. Tree they let one of my people I hired go on some bullshit and I realized just how dumb it is and while most retail jobs stink, the bottom of barrel jobs don't need my support.

Like I said, it sucks that these places are a job(albeit low, low paying, stressful and stupid) for some and they may lose them. But these companies are so terrible to their workers I just don't care.

I left my last job which was in retail for a better job in retail. I worked at Wal-Mart for 7 years. I was a cashier at the front and over time the staffing got so bad every shift was like a skeleton crew, and I hated having to sit there with a line of 5+ people all day because of it. I also hated having to apologize I'm one of two lanes open because when you get down to it, the trillion dollar company obviously could staff their stores better, but they know the average customer will still shop there still or just migrate to buying their shit from the companies website.

I moved to a different sector in retail only found in a handful of states in the US. I now work at a state owned liquor store chain in one of the states that is still control. For me this is night and day. Staffing is much better, no sales goals to push, no credit card apps to push, etc. It's retail but without a lot of the corporate bullshit because it isn't corporate. I am an employee of my states government and also in a union.

I like this job so much more to the point I am now the GM of a store, when before I never would have wanted to be a GM or even just a manager.

For me I just got tired of putting up with being given a bogus set of tools from a billion dollar company almost every shift. Took a minute to get out as I wasn't going to take a pay cut to do so, but it did happen.

in hockey fights happen and it's mostly okay, one or both gets a 5 minute penalty otherwise we're good. In baseball there are bench clearing brawls, players can be suspended as a result and it rarely seems to involve fighting like hockey(I could be wrong). mainly just a buncha dudes yelling.

In any other sport(including baseball), if a player gets into a fight it's suspensions, fines from the league, outrage.

I kinda like how hockey does it. Plus, they're wearing knife shoes.

A lot of people talking about not knowing how to junction or do other things. Some are given formal explanations, most everything is explained in the computer in the Balamb Garden classroom.

Did I understand this game very well my first playthrough as a kid? Ehhh...no. So it isn't like I was any smarter than anybody,

edit: Also, everybody always talks about the level scaling in this game. Higher level enemies have higher level spells to draw, though there are easier ways to get things than drawing them, so one benefit of being a higher level the ability to draw better stuff. But the lowest level or level 100, the game isnt difficult. The enemies scale with you but with even simple junctioning I don't see an issue. This is the easiest FF game I've played to lowest level(since you can get enc_none so early). You can skip every battle aside from forced encounters and bosses 2 hours into the game) and also the easiest to get to level 100 (each level is 1,000 XP, max of 100,000 XP).
