Another in-HGttG reference: "42" is the answer to the question that Deep Thought, a supercomputer created to give the ultimate answer to the question: "What is the meaning [of LUE]?", gave. Deep Thought then gave its petitioners the plans for a greater supercomputer that could [and only it could] give the ultimate question.

But *what* do you play? Give us some game-and-type-of-system examples.

I heard someone describe the appeal of Stardew Valley as its sense of accomplishment: You look at your options, come up with a plan, get things you need, coordinate them, and see what the results are on the next day turn ("one more day" is the addictive part). If it doesn't turn out, unlike real life, you can just try again or turn it off for later.

It was interesting. The sky was clear and snow reflected ambient light; the ground didn't go completely dark.

I took the shots from my back deck, wearing a welder's helmet and wielding an SLR camera on the end of a tripod.

As the moon's shadow crossed, the light dimmed, the air temperature dropped, and wind started rushing in. I wanted to get a more panoramic series of shots of the horizon, but the light level dropped too fast. When I tilted back to focus on the dead-center for shots of the corona, the camera sensor kept catching the edge and flaring.

Keeping focus: When the sensor caught the corona, the moon shrank to a pinhole before everything went white.

The gusting wind also made the camera shake, making keeping the shots steady a lot more difficult.

Even after 2010, multiplatform games were easier to make and ran better on the 360. Like John Carmack said:

"The PS3 is still far and away better than anything else thats ever been made... except maybe the 360." (2011)

If you're not doing tricks, suspension adds weight without giving a better ride (a sculpted saddle or seat cover will).

"Funny" true story: I got a DSi with two Pokemon games, Platinum and Soul Silver. My relative lost their copy of Platinum and I figured that I didn't need both, so, I gave them that and I kept Soul Silver. When I went to play Soul Silver, the DSi said it couldn't read the game card (corrupt; it read Platinum's game card, fine... *shrug*).

It's like when Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times) and Canby (New York Times) snubbed Carpenter's The Thing (1982) for being a terrible, gore-fest remake of Hawkes' The Thing from Another World (1951). What made it terrible for them was their expectations for the movie. Carpenter's movie was a new adaptation of Campbell's "Who Goes There" (1938) novella, not a remake of Hawkes' earlier adaptation of Campbell's novella.

I'd say the first 2 are still a great watch, but Jedi is a near disaster when Vader and Luke aren't on screen.

SW had a noticeable shift in tone after Kurtz left as producer, due to creative differences with Lucas, but it is my favorite SW movie.

[ ROTJ *is* what Lucas intended for SW to be. ]

I once beat the Golem at the Tomb of the Unknown Traveler (Vestad Hills) at a very low level. It fell over the edge when it died and its *prize*--the loot sack--got stuck halfway down.

It's Ernie Hudson. He's had roles in Ghostbusters (1984, and the 1989 sequel), Leviathan (1989), The Crow (1994), Miss Congeniality (2000, and the 2005 sequel).

It's like saying you beat a game but you watched a let's play.

However, if your intent is to "go through a game" to clear it from your backlog, watching a let's play start-to-finish is alternative, but legitimate, way to do it.

I once did this with a friend for Limbo; I played and they watched. When they asked "What happens if you [...]?", I'd hand the controller to them, but they wouldn't take it.

Scary MoVie is so bad, it comes back to good (but you have to watch the whole thing to get there).

You should look for Super Fast, a F&F spoof that skewers the tropes of the series. Also, so bad it's actually good. :)

If you git gud at the dagger dodge rolling, you can run past a lot of stuff to get to the next room. Might need more than min. level to reach discipline level 5 in strider for it, though. But I've done it a few times now. Can always reload from the last door. Really isn't that bad... And picking up and throwing those mages to insta-kill them w/ gravity is so satisfying.

Enemies can't hurt what they can't hit, ofc. It only works until you get knocked-down by a lunge or an AOE attack.

[ Myself, I prefer saving gravity for Banshees... ]
