Satirical comedy films have to be way too over the top or else most people won't get what they are doing and will just assume the movie is stupid.

I got her to watch it just now. She loved it. Whats weirder is that Young Frankenstein is one of her favorite movies. Then I told her Mel Brooks directed that and Blazing Saddles and she about lost it.

I failed my checkride, I think I have 70-ish hours of Cessna 172 time and maybe 10% of that is solo. My Wife (who is essentially my accountant, and I wouldn't have it any other way), basically said I have to get a new job that pays substantially more before she signs off on letting me go back and finish the training and getting my full pilot's license. Part of me wants to finish what I started, and the other part of me wonders how logical it is to have a new, super expensive hobby without much a prospect of making money doing it.

God those were memorable trips. He told me when he passes he wants me to have it to get my private license.

That's a cool story. If you have access to your own plane it's much cheaper to hire your own CFI and do the bookwork yourself rather than going through a flight school and renting their planes. Then when you get your license you already have a plane ready to go!

And maintenance is only about $60 for an hour of flight! I say only because damn it could be a lot more expensive for other small planes.

Yeah that sounds about right. I guess if you can blow $1K a month on a hobby you can have a lot of flying time and a lot of fun. I'm sure there are worse ways to spend that kind of coin.

In the 1950s-1970s flying was cheap and there were so many more pilots who were coming back from wartime. Now you almost have to do shared partnership or join flight clubs if you want to have a plane with a middle class lifestyle.

I doubt I could get into the sky frequently enough under my schedule for the maintenance per hour to reach that high, but I also havent factored in gas and storage.

I already showed her that lol. Its one of my favorite movies of all time. She thought it was goofy as hell, which in her words is a great compliment.

Kentucky Fried Movie was "way too over the top". At least with Airplane!, The Zucker brothers/Abrahams followed a coherent plot.

In the scene a reporter or someone is talking about a serial rapist on the loose, and that one of his victims has a message for them, so this older lady steps up and says call me, Ill leave my windows unlocked. Or something like that.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I mean it wasnt that funny or anything, I am just trying to remember the movie. There may have been another part about a car powered by poop that had a toilet for a drivers seat or something, but my memory could be getting things mixed up.

Sorry to derail, I have just been trying to find this movie for a long time so I thought I would ask.

I refuse to watch any of them past Scary Movie 3. The genre turned into complete garbage after that with movies like Disaster Movie and Date Movie
