There's So Much Energy In Us was the hopeful anthem that ended such a personally influential album. I never would've discovered Cloud Cult when I did if not for user LockesRagnarok submitting a Cloud Cult song for Board 8 Song of the Week. He may not come to the board anymore (that I've noticed), but I just want to say I'm grateful for him and SotW because I still consider Cloud Cult my favorite band ten years later. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

It's a quest series with meaningful story content that unfortunately doesn't get played anymore due to the same problems as Castrum - long cutscenes in the middle of the level - but it's definitely worth seeing. Might be able to experience it personally if a couple B8ers help run it synced to blow through it, though, which I wouldn't mind doing. Is that the same thing as the Crystal Tower raid? I haven't done any large post-ARR dungeons and trials yet, but I've done the work to unlock them. Also I played Red Mage and enjoyed it for the most part, but I had trouble setting an easy keybinding for it. Any tips? However, it seems very easy to get through quickly if you wanted to. I'm on Chapter 9 of 12 and they've been going by very quickly once I start doing the main story missions. I've largely been only doing substories since the mini games all feel like worse versions of everything I've done in the previous games (which makes sense and not something I necessarily hold against it). --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

Being the oldest non-remade game, it's definitely of the least quality and I'm hoping to get through it pretty quickly before P5 strikers comes out. However, I don't want to miss any worthwhile substories. For example, the couple on the roof from Kiwami 2 have made an appearance in 3 here and it was helpful to have know who they hell they were. None of the minigames seems worthwhile for me to see to completion at first glance, though. Is my Yakuza 3 experience going to be best served mainlining the story for the most part? --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

My favorite college team is in the big ten, but I prefer building up the smaller schools so I don't think I'd be bothered TOO much without the big ten license. I'll probably be more prone to mainlining this one because I suspect, though can't be certain, that the side content isn't as fleshed out as 0 and the Kiwami'd 1 and 2. P3D and P5D are mostly in a bubble. The most reference to the other games make to each other are via the Velvet Room assistants referencing each other because they are in a sibling rivalry. But it's a crime drama so you're searching for clues and even presenting evidence not unlike an Ace Attorney title. What's the tone of Judgement like? Although usually I just end up not doing it, especially if there are no trophies/achievements available As I've grown older and my backlog increased, I've become more able to decide to turn in the mainline switch, though I'm like you and usually (read: never) to any post game content after the fact. Once I see end credits roll, I sort of mentally move on from a game. I tried to play the epilogue of Hades and was interested, but I couldn't see it too completion. I pretty much played Yakuza Kiwami 2 all day yesterday forcing myself to largely ignore anything that felt too grindy and chore-ish and managed to beat the game. It was over the top drama and I freaking love it. I then launched FF7 Remake just to watch the opening cinematic and boy that game sure is pretty. The Aerith character model and animation is stunning. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

I just need to grind for a day and see where that puts me. I'm the type who restarts a game after an extended period away, so quitting right now isn't an option. And also I'm sure since FF7 Remake is the game waiting on the wings, I don't think it's possible to play both concurrently. I also play Football Manager, FFXIV, and League of Legends frequently as well. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

I'm on chapter 13 of Kiwami 2 and I'm ready to see it through to the end and want to mainline it, but there's still so much more level up and gauges to fill that my brain just wanted me to make sure I do that. Anybody else have a problem in games with trying to complete all the side stuff that you are even remotely interested in before finishing the story even when you are ready to move on? --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

Part of me really wants to play all of the original first because of apparent changes they made to the story. At the same time, that seems dumb especially when I've already played the opening Midgar portion of the original FF7, so I highly doubt I do that. But because I'm curious, does having played the original enhance the experience at all outside of plain nostalgia? I think I'm aware of the general twist storytelling that Remake presents (though no need to expand on it in this topic please), but it seems to be accepted since people stopped complaining about it after the game came released. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |
